I filed an LLC with LegalZoom and they put the wrong address. I had to go through the government website to change it myself. But that's not the worst part. The operating agreement they sent me for my LLC had the incorrect address also. It's been two months now, I've sent over a dozen emails and have spent several hours with them on the phone to get the correct address put in for the operating agreement. I've gotten more than half a dozen operating agreements from them, and they ALL have an incorrect address. Their team can't seem to fulfill the simple responsibility of COPYING and PASTING an address. Now they want to charge me to fix THEIR MISTAKE. After complaining about how I've already made several attempts to get this corrected and how their team keeps dropping the ball and making mistakes, another representative told me she would file the correct one. I've been told this probably half a dozen times now. With all the time and energy I invested into this, I should have just hired a real attorney. They can't seem to fix the issue and won't give me a refund.Business Response

I have attempted to cancel the registered agent services for the past two years, and each time I am being automatically re-billed and legalzoom refuses to refund or cancel the service. Two years of $249 in billing for a service that does nothing. I had to file for my EIN #, my resale license, and follow up. When I tried to cancel last year, I was told a dollar amount I would have to pay to cancel, which was close to the amount being charged for renewal. I also was not aware I was going to be charged last year the $249 and then randomly was debited from my account, to which I tried to cancel as stated above. It is probably going to be drafted again from my account soon and I cannot afford for this to continue. I want a refund and this bogus service cancelled.Business Response

Legal zoom signed me up for some annual automatic renewal program and keeps on charging my credit card annually.
I have tried for two years to get someone on the phone and I keep disputing the charge but Capital one says that the charge is legitimate and that legal zoom needs to refund the fee. This year is particularly hard financially and I cannot afford the 399$ fee but I have tried to no avail to get someone on legal zoom. Last week I was on the phone for 1 hr and 40 minutes and when someone answered, they dropped my call. I need BBB to help me! This is absolutely unacceptable.Business Response

I have been trying to cancel the Tax Service Plan I had subscribed to with Legal Zoom for a few months now.
In January of this year I had called for more info on the plan, they had mentioned that I can either pay a monthly rate or an annual rate and change my mind at any time. This sounded good to me, since I wasn't sure if I'd use this service enough to justify paying for it for a whole year. So I could cancel early if I needed to.
Months later, in May, I needed to update my payment method and realized I DON'T use this service, so I canceled the subscription. Another month goes by and I had still been billed for the plan. So I tried calling in to get it fixed, only to find out that my subscription WAS cancelled, but that I would still be responsible for the remaining payments as it's an annual plan. Nobody every mentioned I'd be committed to all 12 months. I had been explained I could cancel anytime (assuming that'd mean I'd no longer have to pay). I asked if there was anything they can do to cancel payments, they said no. I asked to speak to a manager, they said they'd schedule a call in 3-4 days. They never called back.
I called again and was told there would be a phone call review (to make sure I was informed incorrectly) and that I'd receive a call back in 2-3 days. That never happened. I tried going through the customer service email...they only re-canceled my subscription (which I already did). Meanwhile my account is still being billed and it's something I really can't afford as a small business. Legal Zoom claims to offer services that help businesses, but I'm finding they only take advantage of them. Had I been correctly informed that it was an annual commitment, I would have never agreed to it (too risky of an expense). And now I can't seem to find any of the tax tools in my portal, that I'm supposedly still paying for since "canceling". I need help to make this right, and get a refund for their false (or incomplete) advertising!Business Response

Yes, someone from Legal Zoom FINALLY reached out to me and was able to cancel my subscription and refund payments that shouldn't have been made. It's unfortunate it took a complaint through BBB to finally have someone contact me to make these fixes, though.Initial Complaint

No EIN number after waiting over a month and payed for expeditated service.
Phone call 1: called to see how long it would take to receive the number. They said it would be available first week of july
Phone call 2: called first week of july the lady informed me they still havent sent it and need some paperwork. I filled it out and they received it that day
Phone Call 3: Called for update they said they sent it over would see it at the end of july.
Phone Call 4: called today found out they haven't sent in my SS-4 form yet to get my EIN number.Business Response
