In July of 2023, I contracted with Good Energy Group, Inc. for a solar installation on business office building in ****************. I put half down ($38,500). During the next year, there were corrections requested by the City of Vista and Good Energy Group's engineering department supposedly were responding with corrections to the City of Vista. I did not hear much from them during that time. Finally, 15 months later, and after several reschedules, the installation began in the last part of October 2024. The installation was not complete, but Good Energy requested the final payment on December 3rd. I responded and let the know that I would send the payment when we had a completed project and were online and properly functioning with SDG&E. I then received a phone call explaining that they could not complete the project without the final payment, which unfortunately I paid on December 4th. In the next 4 months, I have heard nothing from Good Energy despite numerous phone calls (to voice mail) and text messages. I contacted the City of *****, and they said that Good Energy has never requested an inspection. The dispute is that they have been paid in full, and have not completed the project. They have not responded to me in any way. What I want is simple. Finish the job properly within a reasonable amount of time (4 to 6 weeks).Initial Complaint

Transaction Date 04/11/2024 I paid Good Energy Group $ ********* To install and supply solar panels on my house GEG is not able to turn on the solar panels, due to not having permission from Carriage Estates which is the mobile home park that I live in GEG sold me the solar panels with the promised of me not having an electric cost. As they are unable to turn on the panels, I am incurring an electric cost, which they said they would pay for, and as of today they have not lived up to their word. They should have never sold me the solar panels if they were not able to turn them on dur to not having permission from Carriage Estates to do so.Business Response

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention regarding the activation of your system. We understand the importance of having your system operational.
We want to clarify that the delay in activating your system is due to the necessary approval and permission to operate required from Carriage Estates. As with all solar projects, obtaining permission to operate is a crucial step before we can proceed with turning on the system.
Please be assured that we have been actively engaging with Carriage Estates and diligently following up to secure the required permissions. We understand the urgency of the situation and are doing everything in our power to expedite the process.
Once we receive the necessary approvals, we will proceed with activating your system promptly. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused.
we are committed to resolving this matter as swiftly as possible.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
It has been over 30 days since the panels were installed and if Good Energy Group did not have permission to be able to activate the panels they should have never sold them to me.I understand that you need park permission to turn on the panels, but I was told that their is no problem in getting that, Now it seems to be a problem getting permission ,
I was told that I would be reimbursed for my electric bill by **** until you receive permission to turn on the panels, on May 6th I received a text from **** stating that my power would be turned on and that GEG would take care of my electric bill. As you know neither of that happened.
So in conclusion all I am asking for is what I paid for zero electric bill, and as long as GEG reimburse me for that I am willing to wait for how ever long it takes for you to get approval and if you are unable to get approval after a reasonable time lets say 6 months than Good Energy Group can remove the panels off my roof. Replace my roof due to the holes made in it. Reimburse me the money I paid you for the panels.

Roof inspection scheduled for July 31st 2023. No call no show and no notice of re-scheduling until I reached out to ask for an update.Re-scheduled for the following day. Inspection was performed and signed off for installation.Panels installed 1 month later on August 30,2023. Installation signed off. Now time to wait for PTO (permission to operate) from ******.Notice from ****** on October 6th that there was an error with PTO submission. Allegedly corrected and re-submitted.Notice from ****** on November 6th, 2023 that there is yet another mistake with the submission. Time to fix and go back to the end of the line for PTO. Allegedly corrected and re-submitted.Notice from ****** on October 6th,2023. Missing documents for PTO. Allegedly corrected and re-submitted.Almost 4 months after installation has been completed I am still waiting for the paperwork to be submitted correctly. The fumbling of this PTO submission has me dumbfounded. The finance company has already started billing me for the panels that I cannot even turn on yet. This is despite being told that Billing for the panels would not start until PTO was granted. I've come to find that once you sign docs and the panels have been installed; you get moved to the bottom of their customer satisfaction list. I'm sure they will reply to this explaining how it's somehow my fault or how they did everything they could for me, but nah, they didn't and they aren't. Unless you have the patience of a monk and enough disposable income to continue paying ****** and a loan, I would recommend going a different route for your solar investment. I was sold on the fact that this was a smaller company and would probably be more customer service orientated but I was wrong. The infancy of this company shows in their gross mishandling of file submissions and lack of customer service/empathy.Business Response

Good Energy Group was contracted by ************* to install a ground mounted solar system at our property. From day one there has been no communication from Good Energy Group. We were told a day they would try to start and that day came and they didnt show up. Again we email and ask and they give another day and finally came. They would do a little work and then leave never tell us anything, we never knew when they would come back or what was the hold up or anything. We have had to email over and over to get responses, only one time has someone ***** from their office has responded to us. Every other time we have had to get our sales guy to get us an answer. Now our sales guy from Dynasty is telling us we are good the system should be producing and nothing. Good Group Energy came out today and did something but again we do not know what was done because no one said anything to us. But according to Enphase App the system is still not turned on. At this point we do not know what else to do. This company is a terrible company and our hope is no one will have to do business with people like this.Business Response

Solar panels were installed on 9/7/2022, Good Energy Group was paid on 9/10/2022 . They couldn't pass inspection (4 times) , when they finally passed inspection the 5th time, it was then when they had to proceed with the next step which is to upgrade the main panel breaker and have SDGE come out to change the wires to the panel. However, becuase Good Energy Group doesn't seem to know the rules/regulations/requirements, SDGE couldn't move forward because Good Energy did not do their job correctly. Now, Good Energy is blaming SDGE for the delay and yet, they are not doing anyting about it. I have the solar panels on my roof but NO Solar because I am not on the grid. It's been a little over a year now and all I get from Good Energy are just excuses. Please help.Business Response

We started our transaction with Good Energy group May 26th, 2022. It has now been over a year and our solar system is still not operational. They got everything approved and installed the panels on my house but they havent completed the power panel installation. I have not had anything contact with this company in over 5mo even after calling every number list(including the number they used to call/message me on), emailing several Good energy employees and leaving messages on their website. I would really like to redo our contract and for them to finish our project.Business Response

I signed and agreement for solar installation for my home in July 2022. After signing I did not hear from anyone until October. This was kind of strange but I didn't question it because I knew the solar needed to be approved b y ***************. I was e mailed/called about signing another loan agreement because the previous one was expired. I did so, but with reservation. The employees and sales people are very convincing. Because of this I made decision to go with them. I questioned the salesperson about the price but he stated something about financing and the competitor price . Overall, they scammed my HOA and me. The solar was installed but never cut on. I'm still paying over $200.00 monthly. I have tried to call the sales person, no reply as well as the office left messages and no reply. I no longer want to do business with this company. I do not trust them and feel that I can spend my money with a reputable honest company with integrity I believe that they prey on senior citizens. I will also make my HOA aware of this so that they will be unable to scam anyone else.Business Response

Originally talked with ***** and the Good Energy Group in summer 2022. We agreed to have them install the solar on my home, and installation took place October 5th, 2022. I was told it would take about 3-4 weeks from install to get the system powered on and approved. Cost of something like $30K-$35K.
When the installers arrived I was made aware they had made a mistake on their plans (which was admitted to by the company and I have text messages from ***** confirming the mistake was on their end) and they had to redraw the plans. This caused several delays and issues.
The installers power washed sections of the roof creating a huge mess in my yard and on my patio which had to be cleaned, they also broke roof tiles and did not tell me or fix them until I noticed almost 2 months later.
Due to their negligence and not submitting the correct permit updates with the city and other issues, I had to fight with Good Energy Group and call the city of Temecula myself several times. My solar system was finally turned on at the end of January 2023. However, it was not producing power for a week or so even after that. And even today the app they use wasn't set up correctly, so I have no way to verify if the system is creating the promised power.
There have been several attempts to speak with a manager or owner, but I have gotten nowhere. I tried talking with ***** but there was no accountability and he was incredibly rude (again I have the text messages). I have been patient. I keep trying to call and get help with things, but they never follow through.
Due to negligence and poor business practices I had to pay around $2,000 in additional utility bills, plus the cost of cleaning my patio, plus who knows what lasting damage from the roof, plus I have no idea if the system is even working correctly.
I have attached text messages, but there were several phone calls in between them. I hope this complaint spurs action from the company.Business Response

******, You call us every day complaining about the same "issue" and we continue to help you. You tell us your system isn't working, then we send you screenshots of your system producing energy and the screenshots that you send us also show that you are producing energy. We've treated you with the upmost respect given the circumstances. You've crossed the line by reaching out to our employees on their personal phones and on social media platforms outside of business hours which made our employees very uncomfortable. Although customer satisfaction is at the top of our priority list, our employee's safety comes first. You've run a slander campaign across the internet and there is no problem with your system. As far as the app goes, you use the Enphase app. It's an application designed by the industries leading and most advanced inverter system available. Your requests are unreasonable. You have demanded across different platforms that we pay you thousands of dollars and that is not going to happen. Please let us know if you have an actual issue and we will be happy to help.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Unfortunately this response is a further example of the poor customer service and lack of accountability from the company and only shows the juvenile nature of management and ownership. The response I received (both here and on public reviews for the company) is the exact same copy/paste from a co-owner named Brandon. It is, obviously, a complete lie. The company has no leg to stand on, so instead of addressing the real issues they have and the mistakes they made, they are trying to go after my character. I provided multiple screenshots of my communications, I have also had multiple phone conversations with them. I have never sought out anyones personal phone numbers or social media accounts and harassed them in their private time. I can show evidence of this as well. This response does nothing to address my complaint, and I recently had to call the enphase company to get help with the app because Good Energy Group is no longer responding to me. According to the app manufacturer, the install was not done correctly on the consumption monitor, so I doubt I will ever get it fixed.I tried multiple times to get answers, updates, and service from Good Energy Group and continue to be brushed off and ignored. This is why I finally went the route of online reviews and this BBB complaint. Sadly, the company does not seem to care about a customer who is legitimately upset due to a bad experience, and instead wants to act in this unprofessional manner.I can not accept this response.****Initial Complaint

Date of transaction: 9/12/2022. Install date provided: 11/4/2022. Did not actually get it scheduled until the 16th of November after I called and asked. They did not show up on the scheduled date. I called and asked and they told me there was a system issue and scheduled me for a later date. It I would have not called, I don’t know if they would have reached out. They came on the second scheduled date and installed the panels. At that time I was told that an inspector will come out within one to two weeks and get it inspected. Mid December I called again to ask when the inspector is coming since it has been over a month and o started making payments on my loan. When I called, they scheduled the inspection for mid January. At this point I asked to speak to a manager because everything keeps getting pushed back and I don’t receive any notice. I received no call back and yet again inspector did not show on the scheduled date. I called again and asked to speak to a manager. I was told that they were not available and that I would receive a call back. No call back, as of today. I received a text letting me know that inspection is now scheduled for the 31st of January. On the 31st someone from the good energy group came and was working on putting on required stickers on the box. I asked the individual how the inspection went and he told me that the inspection will need to be scheduled, he was just there to get it ready. At this point I have already made my second payment. Inspection is being scheduled for the following day (2/1). I don’t know if it will happen and have zero faith. I called again asking to speak to the manager/owner and have been told that they will call me back. I also was told that after the inspection it will take another 7-10 days to get the final approval from Edison electric. I want to stress that in the very beginning I was told by the sales person that the longest part of this process is waiting on Edison Electric, everything else is quick.Business Response

Good afternoon Mrs. *****. First off, I would like to start by apologizing for your experience being unpleasant while working with us thus far. It sounds like communication with our scheduling department was lacking in this case and for that I apologize. Safety is our number one priority! During this time of the year the scheduling department does get pretty crazy with all of the moving parts and pieces that are sometimes out of our control. I have verified your system is turned on and showing healthy production. Again, I apologize for your experience up to this point and I’m sorry you had to start paying for your loan sooner than anticipated. The bank offers a level pay loan in which you make payments right away. They also have a flex loan that offers no payments for 12 months so you have time to transition and get your system producing well before those first payments come due. If it were up to me, I would delay the payments for you but the bank has strict guidelines they follow depending on the agreement you sign. Although these things are out of our control we care highly about your issues and how they reflect back on our company. That being said, we pride ourselves in life long relationships with our customers so if there is anything we can do moving forward please call us any time Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 5:00pm. We are happy to help! Office Phone: ###-###-####Customer Answer
