After having paid for service, all my items arrived damaged and broken. I filed a claim and was then told that they were not responsible due to loading my items into a freight trailer. I was never told I would have no coverage, instead they set me up with helpers to move me, took my money for insurance knowing I was loading a trailer and then claimed after $9k of damages that I didnt have coverage. They also dont have any way to contact a claims agent other then email so they conveniently ignore the emails.

Worst experience ever. I was searching online for movers. I get a call from HireAHelper. I tell the *** that I will need a truck with loading/unloading and its a 1BD. She gives me a quote to which I tell thats too much, can you please find me cheaper company. She does, I tell that perfect. I even asked her how big is the truck and will it be enough for me? She says its a 16 truck. She asks me to book and make a payment in the email she sent. I pay online. I feel relieved as I am busy working thinking I am all set to move. I keep my boxes etc ready, Next day, when the time comes movers show up at my place. I asked them where is the truck? They say we dont have a truck. I called HireAHelper customer care, some *** ***** I asked him where is my truck? He completely blames me saying I never asked for a truck. I tell him to listen to the call between me and ***resentative. This ***** says he didnt listen to whole conversation but bluntly says I never asked for a truck but at the same time tells me that I did get a quote with truck and I asked for a new quote from another company.I mean think about it why would someone ask for a quote with a truck if they didnt want it? I didnt have much time myself to get a truck otherwise I always do and its cheaper. I was willing to pay more because of time crunch. He keeps me on call for 30 mins? I asked him if there is any way we can sort out things as I have flight next day and just wanted to get done with. He asked me to pay extra 400 dollars for the truck? I tell him why should I? I can move the time or if I could get my money back? He tells me I will get no refund. I used no services and why should I pay if they make mistake on their end? Be careful everyone, just go direct to movers website and avoid these scammers. The HireAHelper *** calls me back and instead of being apologetic for their mistakes, blames me. In the end he has audacity to ask if I would like to do a new booking with them as this done? STAY AWAY !

From the very beginning it was a nightmare. I received a call from ****** early morning on July 23, 2024 to confirm the movers will be at our location at 10am. At 9:39am I received a voicemail from ****** saying that one of the movers got really sick and she is trying to find someone else. I called her back and she said one of the movers got really sick on the way to our house and they had to drop him off at the hospital. She proceeded to say she got a hold of another mover and is waiting for him to arrive to send them over to our house and they should arrive around 11am. The movers did not show up until after 12pm. They started moving the furniture without any type of supervision and knowledge of how to properly move furniture. We were hesitant about the movers, but proceeded with the move. Around 2 hrs later, they damaged our refrigerator. One of the guys was transporting the refrigerator on a furniture dolly without any type of furniture straps and the other mover, instead of helping him and guiding him, he was moving a dinning chair. Once the refrigerator tipped over and fell, they attempted to haul the refrigerator to the *** container and thats when they dropped the refrigerator for the second time. The refrigerator was completely damaged and not in a working condition. On July 28th I submitted a claim on their website and provided pictures, videos of the incident. On August 2nd I received an email stating the total compensation amount they are willing to pay is $186.60. Of course, we responded that this amount is unacceptable given the fact that the movers were negligent which caused us not to have a refrigerator. The amount offered, we did not accept. The refrigerator is a $4,500.00 ( I also submitted a copy of the receipt when it was first purchased). We have yet to receive a response from the claim team department despite our numerous attempts for a reply-via phone and email.

I found this company through POD, which lists them as a preferred provider for movers with POD packing experience. I booked a move through ****** ******** on June 15th for July 20th, confirmed at 5 hours/2 movers/$1381. I arranged other logistics around this date, including POD delivery and a loading dock reservation.****** ******** matched me with ****** ******* ***, confirming the move and quote via email. On July 16th, I called to confirm details and was assured everything was set. However, on July 19th, less than 24 hours before the move, I received a message from Hire a Helper stating ****** ******* *** was unavailable and they needed to find another provider, threatening to cancel my order if I didn't respond within an hour. I was in a meeting and found the one-hour response time unreasonable. Fortunately, I managed to call back within the hour and learned ****** ******** and Hire a Helper are owned by the same company, which felt misleading. The representative informed me they were rebooking my move but could not assist directly, saying a specific agent would call me back. Given the urgency, I insisted on an immediate answer. After a long hold, an agent told me the original booking was underquoted and I needed 4 movers for at least 8 hours, costing at least $1900, and no movers were available for the same time slot, suggesting I reschedule. I reiterated my need for the specific date and time and was advised to find another provider. I secured another mover last minute for a premium rate of $2500.When I called ****** ******* ***, they stated that ****** ******** reached out only two days prior, contradicting my booking from five weeks ago. I expressed my frustration to Moving Staffers and requested compensation for the additional $1200 I had to pay. They said they could do nothing. This experience was terrible, and I urge anyone moving to avoid ****** ******** and Hire a Helper. I am considering further action for compensation.

Weird, rude customer service rep! I don't understand why the service rep called to try to convince us to book with you all but ended ** saying we had missing information and didn't. She got snappy and rude when we said we filled everything out and said the movers won't accept our request. Kept interrupting us. If that's how y'all try to convince folks, then I'd hate to see what would happen once we booked. It's a shame too because I am a repeat customer.

Completely useless company. Make money off of companies backs by advertising for them. Yet, do not take any responsibility if the company is late, is a no show, or makes a last minute cancellation. The moving company offered a 40% discount for cancelling on me 2.5 hrs prior to my scheduled move due to callouts after the holiday. Yet, after going back and forth with HireAHelper, they would only offer it with the movers putting it on record. Lets just say - it took going back and forth and back and forth for the movers to actually truthfully honor the verbal discount they gave me after cancelling. Then, H.A.H. Told me its 40% off the labor costs, only; not THEIR fee. HireAHelper serves zero purpose and is just a scam company designed to make money off of others. Shame on this company.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your frustrating experience, and we understand how upsetting last-minute cancellations can be.

While we work with many moving companies to connect our customers with reliable service providers, we understand that unexpected circumstances can occur. Our goal is always to ensure that customers receive fair treatment and compensation for any inconveniences.

Regarding the discount, our policy is to honor any offers made by the moving company, and we're glad to hear that the 40% discount was ultimately applied. However, our service fee is separate, which reflects our efforts to connect you with vetted movers and support you throughout the booking process.

We apologize for any misunderstanding and the back-and-forth communication it took to resolve this issue. We are committed to improving our communication and support to prevent situations like this in the future. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us enhance our processes and serve our customers better.

I moved from AZ to ** and went through Hire A Helper to find a company to load my stuff into a moving trailer from *********** and then unload into my new apartment. Hire A Helper outsourced to ***** Legacy Movers in AZ and Movers United in ***I hired ***** for the move and they outsourced to Old Dominon. ***** said there would be 5 moving blankets on truck but when trailer arrived there were none. I had to use my own blankets to wrap furniture. All except my TV which I had a moving blanket for.I Since I live in an apartment in SC the complex would not allow me to have the moving trailer from **************** by my apartment, had to park 2 buildings down. When the guys came from Movers United they did not want to haul my stuff down to my apartment so they unloaded the truck into the back of an SUV, when I said unloaded, I mean Everything, big and small. There was so much damaged done. My 50" tv was completely damaged, the whole screen was all cracked and base cracked. There is no saving it. totally shot. It was protected by cardboard, moving blanket and moving shrink wrap.My coffee table was all busted up. Tall bookcase broken on the bottom, 2 floor lamps were bent, boxes smashed, plus a lot of other stuff damaged. I called Hire A Helper and told them about damage, they said to wait till I was done unpacking since I can only put in 1 claim. When I was mostly finished I put in a claim. It was close to $2000 of damage. I took pictures of the damage and sent it with my claim. The claims department listed a number of reason why they are not covering my damage which is baloney, just to cover their company. Claims said they are offering me a customer satisfaction compensation of $100 and that is more than what it should be.All I know is when my stuff left my house in AZ it was all good and when it was unloaded in my apartment in SC it was damaged.Based on my experience, I would not recommend Hire A Helper, ****** Legacy Movers or United Movers.

This company is absolutely horrendous! The list of things standing in your way of filing a simple damage claim is astonishing. I did a cross country move which took over the 10 days you have to file a claim, and they had the audacity to use that against me to not compensate me for over $3,000 in damages. This company hired a bunch of toddlers to pack my truck,m as they loaded heavy items on top of fragile items, which were inevitably crushed during the move. They placed metal gym equipment up against leather chairs, which were inevitably punctured and destroyed. I love my gaming desk leg because they packed so much on top of the desk it buckled. Horrendous! And again, when I went to file a claim it was like running uphill with the amount of things they were saying I couldn't get a claim for. The customer service was NOT there for me in my weakest moment after losing tons of furniture and household items that were dear to me. The most hilarious part was that they tried to offer me a whopping $75 to cover my damages. WHAT A JOKE! If you want to take a risk with your items, and not get the support you need when/if you file a claim, go through this company. THEY WILL S**** YOU

I would not recommend that anyone hire this company to assist them in their move. Their customer service and communications with the customer are terrible. Their goal is to separate as much money from the customer as possible. Their subcontracted movers do not arrive at even close to the window that you are told to inspect. And, when **** says to you that he will call you to resolve your issues, he does not call you as he promised. My advice, find another moving service.

Horrible experience. The guys were late to scheduled time window. They packed quickly and loaded our container which was unexpected. When containers arrived, we had damage that could have easily been prevented. I was told to file a claim, I choose to only claim 2 of the many things damaged. The response was this:The terms of service that was agreed to before services were performed state in order for coverage to apply these three items must be present:One blanket per item and six straps must have been provided Damages must have occurred while the crew was on site and noted on the work ticket at the time the damage occurred. For damages to be covered in-transit, both loading and unloading services must have been booked through (Business Unit).Claim must be submitted within 10 days of the last date of services.Items were not loaded to a freight trailer. No where did I agree to or talk about the above during the process. No one told me I had to have their services used on both ends to file a claim. How could I file a claim within 10 days of service when my containers took 14 days to cross the country???? Worst customer service I have dealt with during my move. I would never recommend doing business with a company this shady and has a list of unattainable requirements to file a simple damage claim.
