      DO NOT RENT FROM SAN DIEGO DUNE TOURS!!!!! These people are scam artists. The tour was not what we paid for. We rented 4 2-seater UTVs. We paid in full before the tour. When we arrived they did not have the utvs that we rented. We had to convince the tour guide to give us 4 UTVs. One UTV got a flat tire and ran out of gas two hours in. The tour guide told us we had to ride with the flat tire for the remaining 3 hours of the tour because she did not have a spare. One UTV would not shift into 2nd gear so could not go more than 20 mph. One UTV kept over heating and shutting off. What was supposed to be a 3 hr tour took us 5 1/2 hours because we had so many issues with the ****. The tour guide told us it was not our fault and would not be responsible for any of the issues. Unbeknown to us, we were charged $2500 security deposit and still have not gotten it back. Their answering machine is full and their email does not work. We are out $5000 for a day of stress and frustration!!!

      We booked an ATV tour and when we arrived, there were poorly maintained equipment, the tour guide was not trained, and no safety training was provided. If anyone had been injured, no first aid would have been available. The check in process was very unprofessional. I was told to text a photo of all drivers liscenses and my credit card to "*****," presumably one of the owners. A hold was placed on my credit card for a deposit of $3000 and was told the hold would be removed after 48hrs. I was also charged a "mandatory gratuity" of 10%. After the tour concluded, there was no check out process. We told the tour guide that the gratuity was charged to the credit card but he told us he never gets that money. He said he is only paid $50 per tour, which is less than minimum wage for a 4 hour tour, and relies on cash tips.After 48 hours, the $3000 charge was posted to my account. I called the business, spoke to ***** and he could not adequately explain to me the charge. He was threatening and unprofessional, talking to me about company debts, saying "you try and run a business in Ocatillo! These are dessert people." He told me I just needed to be patient and after **** days I'd get the money back to my account. I told him this was unacceptable and I would not wait to be refunded for charges that should have never been placed. I informed him I would dispute the charge, then he threatened to send me to collections. I was completely caught off guard and confused and said I would be submitting a review describing this experience and he threatened me again saying "I dare you! I'll send you right to collections," and then hung up on me. When I looked at the company name for the charge, the name was ********************* ************** I called the number for that business and it didn't work and ***** will no longer answer my calls. Something is not right. This is an off road ATV tour company, and someone could get seriously injured if they continue operating as they are. Scam alert!
