The medication for Mr. ******** that was incorrectly mailed to his Colorado address has been delivered to Mr. ******** at his Arizona address. Nic ****** contacted Mr. ******** on 10/20/24 to explain the situation and that the address change was not the fault on AdminSure but MyMatrixx who inadvertently failed to update the address in the two fields on the individual's profile. We have worked with Mr. ******** to help prevent this issue going forward. It will be on Mr. ******** to let AdminSure know 2-3 weeks prior to his move to allow ample time for the address to be updated with MyMatrixx.

AdminSure was hired my wives employer to handle workman compensation claims. AdminSure didn’t pay bills on time, left us with emails, and texts that kept asking us if we were having trouble paying our bills. These bills were forwarded to AdminSure and a year later, these bills were still not paid. *** ********, and her supervisor ******* ********* did not follow up on payments, wanted to make excuses that AMR didn’t code the bill correctly, yet AdminSure still had copies of these bills. The stress of having to handle these issues, and the constant notifications from a company wanting their compensation for doing their job has been over the top.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/12/2022

AdminSure has done everything we can to get AMR to send us their bill directly.  We have sent them a letter which Mr. ****** has a copy of and both ******* and *** have called them.  AMR has assured us that they are in the process of getting the bill out to us.  AMR made an error and billed Mr. ******’ group health insurance directly.  His group health insurance (not knowing this was a workers’ compensation claim) paid the bill in error and left a portion as part of a patient’s responsibility ($129). They are aware they made that error and are trying to fix it.  They also assured us the account is not going into collections and won’t be reported to any credit agencies.   Unfortunately, we cannot just call them and pay them the $129 balance as it does not work that way.

AdminSure has a process, we need the original billing from AMR in order to bill under workers’ compensation. They must include the proper coding that is required by the State of Ca., then AdminSure is required to submit that billing through the Bill Review process which then reviews it per the Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule provided by the State of California and then issues the payment directly to AMR.  Under Workers’ Compensation laws, AMR is not allowed to bill his wife directly for any portion of the payment.  Please see the below as it pertains to this code section:

The practice of directly billing an injured worker or employer is not permitted under Section 4600 of California Labor Code.  The prohibition of this form of "balance billing" is explicitly addressed in Bell vs. Samaritan Medical Clinic (Civil Ruling 37529-Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Division 2-1976).

This kind of situation is a common practice when employees are taken by ambulance pertaining to a workers’ compensation claims as often in times of an emergency the Hospital where the employee is taken will ask for insurance information from the patient. Sometimes if the patient is unaware of the workers’ compensation insurance company they will go ahead and give their group insurance information and then the hospital will share this with the ambulance company.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 10/12/2022

I am rejecting this response because the information they’re providing is false. They did not do everything that they could’ve. This information was sent to AdminSure in Nov of 2021. Adminsure left this claim open and did not follow up on the claim or the bill that was provided to them, directly by me. Adminsure stating this is common, they should’ve known what to do, and should’ve handled it in a timely manner. I stand by my complaint, Adminsure did not do their job, did not follow up,  they had all the documents and information to get this resolved.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/17/2022

    Hello,

Please be assured that AdminSure is doing everything that we
can to obtain the actual billing from AMR (American Medical Response).  We
have been in contact with AMR on multiple occasions via phone as well as the
attached letter which we issued on 11/1/21 timely when Mr. **** ******
originally emailed us a copy of the statement balance notice.   We
were assured by AMR on 9/9/22 that this matter would be handled within 30-45
days.  We have been in contact with them twice since then on 9/19/22 and
again on 10/14/22 and have been assured that the billing error is being
corrected and they should be issuing the bill to us by 10/23/22.  They
also indicated on 10/14/22 that they have spoken to Mr. ****** and assured him
that there is no balance going to collection and that the account is currently
under review by them since they billed the wrong insurance company
originally.    We have done everything we can do on our end to get
AMR to bill us directly.   As soon as we receive the actual bill (not
just a statement) we can and will process the bill for payment. The process we are following is law by the State of California.
