I went into western dental for a wisdom teeth consult. I let them know multiple times that I would probably have to cancel because I can only get my teeth done the first week of august and they only have a guy come in once a month and didnt know the day i would do it: they asked me if i wanted to sign up for a payment plan and I did and they said the billing wouldnt start till july. when i signed up for the payment plan i had no idea that they were signing me up for a credit card where they charged 1800 for no work being done. i have gone in and called multiple times and they are saying they cant cancel the card because its too hard to do so. i contacted care credit, the card provider and filed a dispute but im also doing it with you guys because western dental today just said I have to pay 1800$ to cancel my appointment that I never made and i got no work done.

Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Western Dental Services, ***** located at *****************************. On 6/20/24, my father, *********************, who suffers from aphasia due to a stroke, was subjected to unfair and unethical treatment practices at this facility.*****, who is not of sound mind to make medical or financial decisions, was taken to Western Dental by his caregiver. During the visit, his caregiver was removed from the room under the pretense that "the room was too small," leaving ***** alone to sign documents. *****, who is unable to read, was unaware of what he was signing and coerced into agreeing to a $1394 at home gum treatment and a CareCredit credit card with ***************Despite being informed that a representative explained the situation to his caregiver, the caregiver denies this claim and was not informed about the CareCredit application. The caregiver assumed that ***** was signing documents related to the cleaning procedure. As *****'s power of attorney, I was not consulted or informed about these decisions. ***** is a low-income individual who relies on government assistance, Social Security, and disability benefits. The actions of Western Dental raise serious concerns about informed consent and potential elder financial abuse under California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 15610.30.We demand that WD cancel the $1394 treatment plan, issue a full refund, and terminate the CareCredit account. This case involves potential violations of state laws protecting vulnerable adults and needs to be addressed urgently. I am prepared to file formal complaints with the ********************* of ******** Affairs Dental Board and *************** Furthermore, I will not hesitate to pursue legal action to protect ****** rights and hold WD accountable for any violations of state law.Thank you for your attention to this serious matter. Sincerely,********************************* Attorney-in-fact for *********************

I visited this office on 5/11/24 because I had a cracked tooth. After finally getting to see the dentist after the x-ray machine breaking down several times and several room switches, she evaluates my teeth, informs the manager and leaves. The manager returns with a bill. I ask to confirm if that work would be being done that day and he says yes. I pay the bill, only for him to return and apologize, he forgot to add a filling and presents another bill for me to pay, which I do. When the dentist arrives, she lets me know they will do a cleaning and I have to reschedule the other work. When I ask why because I was already told it would be completed that day she said they normally don't do fillings on the first appointment and they were short staffed and unable to complete the work that day. After leaving, I decide I don't want to return, so I call and request a refund for the work that wasn't complete. I was told they would, but it never happened, I contact customer service who sends several urgent messages to the office regarding the refund, they don't respond. I finally am able to speak to the manager, who says work was done that wasn't, but he will refund what wasn't done. That was never done. I informed my HSA I was disputing the charge because the work was never done, so they kicked it back to the office. Then I receive a bill for the ENTIRE amount. ******* says to pay the whole bill, then they will apply a refund for work not completed (because I've never heard that before), I told them that makes no sense, just adjust the bill for what was actually done and I will pay what I owe, he referred me to the office, who never answers their phone, doesn't answer messages from customer service, they've already lied to me several times in regards to refunds and charges. They also cant provide me with anyone outside of the office that can actually help.

I went to Western Dental office on 3/4/2024 for a new removal bridge and a night guard. These items were reviewed three weeks later. Both needed adjustments. On the second adjustment appointment I went in on 5/25/2024 because the bridge was to tight and on the left side of my mouth created a blood ***** size of a pea. 6/15/2024 another appointment for an adjustment on the left side front clasp is suppose to clasp around my tooth, but instead it was sticking out. I turned looked at dr. **** said this isn't right, and he said, 'I'D HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT." He turned and left so I was not going to argue with him. I left.2nd Compliant:the waiting room has an extremetly high odor of feses. chairs in the lobby are cloth and all have dark stains. I mention this to the dr.H, and he said, I'd have to tell Coorporate. The lobby is a health hazard for anyone entering the faculty. Surely this can not continue! Three years ago the receptionist they were getting new chairs. Yet, here are the same chairs. thank you.

I went to western dental on September 29th of 2023. I was lied to and told I had 15 cavities. This is not the first time. 10 years ago they said I had 18 cavities and I let them do the procedure. However this time I went and got a second opinion. My current dentist ********************* only found one cavity last week. She has always complimented me on my healthy teeth. I know Im not the only one they have scammed in the past.

I went to the dentist on May 10 and paid $348 towards a root canal and crown but in the end I didnt get the crown. I have good dental insurance through Humana. The dental office filed the claim wrong and they are billing me the full price to pay. They are not responding to the insurance company to submit the correct information. They are giving me the run around and every department I talk to do not handle this issue. When I spoke with Humana they told me my deductible for the root canal should be $128 and the dental office should issue a refund for the amount over paid.

I had a severe tooth pain a few months ago. I was referred to this dental practice by my HMO insurance and was told I needed to have a root canal. The nurse provided an estimate which was $1,621. We were told that we needed to pay in two payments. One payment was due at that time and the second payment was due at the time of procedure. I did not know if the charges were correct. Due to my pain, I decided to move forward. After the procedure, we contacted the insurance company and found out that this dental practice applied the wrong dental codes. As a result, we were overcharged by $1,069. The insurance company also issued a letter to them saying they were overcharged. We contacted customer service and the nurse in this practice. They said they did not use the dental codes that the insurance company believed were correct. They refused to refund the overpayment. My dad contacted his credit card company, provided relevant documents, and disputed the overpayment. The credit card company agreed with our explanation and sent it to the dental company for their response. They had 30 days to respond to the credit card company for any disagreements. If the credit card company did not receive any response, the dispute would become valid. The dental company never responded to the credit card company and the dispute became permanent. Instead, they kept calling me and sent bills to my house. We sent the documents to them via email and certified mail to explain their charges were fraudulent in April. They stopped calling for two months. A couple of days ago, they started the calls again. They have never responded to any letters or emails we have sent to them.

They said I needed to pull my teeth. I said only the top. The guy doing my xrays called a different name multiple times. I asked not to have that person again. He also ignored the fact that 8 said I have an easy gag reflex, and shoved the xray tool in my mouth. I was gagging like crazy trying not to throw up. They had this same guy help me multiple times. I couldn't give them a proper mold of my mouth, because the mold tool was again toolarge and causing me to gag and want to throw up. It seemed like everytime I went in I was given this person to help me. Then when I went in to have my teeth pulled, they were trying to pull the top and bottom. I said no, just the top several times. I had plenty of clues this wasn't a well ran place, but I went ahead anyways. I regret that decision. They did pull my teeth. They cracked them out leaving roots. I complained of swelling, and bleeding. I went in multiple times to ask for help. I am a brittle type 1 diabetic. I have only been able to eat soups, because I cannot chew. The teeth are large in the front and ultra small in the back. I keep getting a swollen face, that is so swollen I can't even move my upper lip. I'm in pain. I'm paying over 10 thousand dollars for a procedure that I won't let them finish. Yet the money gets taken out of my account like clock work. I've asked several times for a refund, but get the run around. I want this fixed. I shouldn't be paying such a high amount for 99 cents worth of teeth. I'm searching for a lawyer now. They also broke HIPPA laws. They discussed my issue with someone who decided to call for me without my asking them to.
