I am filing this complaint regarding a serious billing dispute with Western Dental in ******, **********. My family and I signed a contract that clearly stated the total cost of dental procedures would be $10,275. We have already paid half of this amount, leaving a remaining balance of approximately $5,213.However, we are now being told that we owe around $13,621, which is a significant increase that was never discussed, authorized, or agreed upon. To make matters worse, this new total includes charges for procedures that were never completed, including a failed implant and a periodontal medicament carrier that was never done.We have tried multiple times to speak with the office and the billing department, but calls and in-person visits have gone unanswered or unresolved.Initial Complaint

I signed up for gumx I tried to cancel right away and the gentlemen said he would put in a cancel request after following up I found out they never put in a request I have spoken to four different people asking to cancel and they all said they put in the request and no one has. I feel like Im being scammed for a service I do not want and they wont allow me to cancel even though I have the right to.Initial Complaint

06/11/2025 I paid $2500 to Western Dental to make me a dentures that will fit my mouth. I had a long talk BEFORE I agreed to have them made there, and I told her that I wanted them to look like the ones that I had, and that they needed to fit my face. She said me that they would make them the exact way that I specified and to tell the doctor. I told her that I wouldn't have them make my dentures unless she guarenteed that they would be exactly what I want The dental assistant took an impression of my denture and promised that the new dentures would be made exactly like it. Yesterday, I went in and she had a temp wax set made and they were horrible.They didn't fit my face. They didn't resemble the ones I was wearing. You couldn't see the teeth when I smile. They were too small for my face. They looked like the would fit my 6 year old grandchild's face. I told her that they were NOT acceptable. She told me that it was impossible to make ones that look like the ones that I showed her that I was wearing. I know that's not true. Because if it was impossible to make ones like what I was wearing-I wouldn't be able to wear them. I want what I was promised, I want what I told them I paid them to make. If they won't make them to fit my face,I want my money back so that I can pay another dentist that will make ones to fit my face. I have to pay $90 to drive there each time that I go. So far, I have spent $450 to drive back and forth for a set of dentures that do not fit my mouth correctly, and I will be going back there again in 2 more weeks, because I told her that they have to give me what I am paying for. In two weeks, I will have to spend another $90 for the drive, and the dentist still says that they cant make the dentures look like the ones that I wore there and showed them. I want what they promised me that I would get -but the dentist won't let me have what I paid for. This is not acceptable. I was lied to. It's fraud.Initial Complaint

Im filing this complaint because I feel I was misled by Western Dental and charged for treatment I was told cost much less and that I didnt even need in the first place.When I went in for care, the staff broke down my bill and explained the charges to me. They pointed to several $84 charges and told me that was for the Gum X treatment, which I agreed to based on that price. They also pointed out the $473 charges and told me those were for fillings, which I was fine with and had no issue paying. My total loan agreement is around 1400$, which I am more than happy continuing to pay what I was not misled about. After the treatment, I discovered that the two $473 charges were actually for the Gum X treatment not the fillings like they told me. That means I was charged $946 total for something I was led to believe would cost $84. On top of that, I recently saw another dentist who told me I dont even have gum disease, so the Gum X treatment wasnt medically necessary to begin with.I tried reaching out to the dental office directly and got no help or accountability. I also contacted ******, the financing company, to dispute the charges, since I never would have agreed to finance $946 for something I didnt need and was misinformed ******** asking that Western Dental:Refund or cancel the charges for the Gum X treatments Correct the billing and explain why I wasnt given clear information up front Contact Sunbit to adjust or cancel the loan tied to this treatment This whole situation has been incredibly frustrating and financially stressful. I was seen here and during my visit I was made aware that my partial imprint was lost, the company is saying well it was the labs fault which should follow under the same umbrella so it is their fault, i asked for a discount on my partial and she said no we are not giving you that because it wasn't our fault it was the labs fault. no accountability taken.Initial Complaint

I was charged up front for a service they could not provide. I should have never been charged. This happened over a year and a half ago. I requested a refund and was told I had to wait 45 business days to recieved the refund. I have made multiple calls to follow up. I waited the 45 business days and am now being told the request was submitted incorrectly. The office has to resubmit and I need to wait another 45 business days. When I call corporate they say they are waiting for information from the office manager. The office manager is rarely available and doesn't return calls when I leave a message. I have spent hours on hold and when I do get to talk to someone in the office they tell me I need to contact corporate. When I speak to corporate they tell me I need to speak to the office manager. I'm getting the runaround and no real answers to when I'll actually get my refund for services I should never have been charged for. Please help!!Initial Complaint

I came to this perris office a couple months ago (feb 27) for a simple deep cleaning. after a brief tooth/gum assessment with no actual questions being asked about my hygiene I was taken into a consultation office and fearmongered into taking out a (******) loan on the gumx after being told if i didnt take action now my teeth would fall out. i tried the paste for a couple days to be met with an allergic reaction and when my partner tried to call to request a refund/cancellation on my behalf, the manager told him she wasnt going to do it because i already received the product. she mentioned to him that majority of the cost of the loan i took out wasnt even for the paste but for a custom tooth tray. that specific detail was never mentioned to me at the point of sale. i tried to reach out to Sunbit directly and i was told id have to resolve this with Western Dental directly. i am paying money every month for a product i cant even use. In regards to payments made, I put in a down payment ($102.80) and my first months payment ($111.15). Soon I will have to make a second months payment ($111.15) I would genuinely just like for that loan to be canceled and a refund for the payments ive already made. also just to emphasize, i have no issues with the loan company (******) as they tried to help all they could but the manager at western dental has refused to give me a refund. i will even return the unused/untouched bottles of the paste as well since i have no ability/intention of using them.Initial Complaint

Western Dental has failed to complete my orthodontic treatment for my teeth, I have had these braces on since 2018 and have finished paying this contract off since 2021. Western Dental failed to check up and follow up with me during ************************************************ for almost a whole year after they cancelled my appointment around March 2020. Western Dental assured me tbey would contact me as soon as they hired a new orthodontist and failed to do so or notify me in a timely manner. Western Dental caused for me to miss treatment for almost a whole year and refused to acknowledge their mistakes and did not take responsibility for their failure to notify me for treatment as soon as possible. I went allost a whole year without treatment and never got notified about going back in. I had to contact them directly and let them know they havent called me in almost a year and their solution was to have me walk in for a check up. They failed to contact me for almost a year and now have been trying to blame me about the delay of my treatment. This contract was paid off in ********************************************************************** to pay for an additional 2 more years on a contract that I never signed or agreed to extend to begin with. This company should be investigated for fraud. I demand that they terminate anything in my name and remove my information from their system. I should have a 0 balance on my accounts. I want this treatment to be completed and for my account to be terminated or I will resort to opening a lawsuit against Western Dental and will keep all my previous BBB cases against them as proof that they in fact do not keep up to date with their businesses. This will be my last notice before I contact a lawyer previously involved in lawsuits with Western Dental. I want this accounts terminated and my treatment completed. I went to Western Dental Saturday, May 10th 25. I saw the dentist who checked my x-rays, did an exam and told me that everything looked great, I could be scheduled for a cleaning and that was it. Then he came back and told me that I actually had 3 cavities. The dental assistant came in and was pushing for me to purchase Gumx trays, a product that is exclusive to Western Dental that is $1500. She said there were signs of gum and bone loss and that this was the only thing I could do to fix it. I was hesitant and asked to go home and think about it and she continued to push. Next the hygienist was sent in to talk to me about it and she mentioned that I had signs of significant bone and gum loss and that I would need a more in depth cleaning than a normal one and that she would not be willing to do this cleaning unless I purchased the gum trays. Again, I asked to have some time to think about it. The dental assistant came back and again told me about how advanced the gum and bone loss was and how they would not do the cleaning without these trays and how I would likely get an infection if I did not purchase them. I felt very cornered and gave in, despite my better judgement. After I left the office I looked into it more and saw this is something that Western Dental pushes out to people often, whether or not they really need it. I left after close of business Saturday around 4:17pm (the office closes at 4) and I was back at the office at open of business at 9am Monday morning (they are closed Sunday) to request a cancellation of the Gumx trays. I was informed that the manager is the only person who could contact the lab, there should have been time to cancel the tray production had she been present, and that she was also the only one who could initiate a refund. They are trying to keep me on the hook for a product I do not want, need and will not be receiving. I've had a second opinion and have no bone or gum loss.
