Dear Ms. ***************** reviewed your account and looked into the matter thoroughly.
Our investigation found multiple enrollment attempts under different Social Security numbers, including two within a 30-day period. These Social Security numbers are not associated with one another and do not align with our identity verification requirements.
As outlined in our Terms of Service and in accordance with the policies of the credit bureaus we report to, we cannot proceed with accounts that include false or inconsistent information. Our refund policy also states that refunds are not issued in such cases.
If you believe this conclusion was reached in error, you may submit a rebuttal for further review.
Sincerely,

On March 23 2025 I signed up. They charged me annual fee instead of monthly like I chose and I even paid an expediting fee. They claim they cannot verify my documents which if they can't is due to domestic violence and identity theft which makes it hard. They provided me no other options and cancelled my account and refuse too refund me despite Florida having a 3 day refund policy no matter which is where I was when the transaction was made. California has a 7 day policy and rent reporters has a policy if they report and you aren't happy you can cancel within 7 days. They also say if they cannot verify you no refund but that is not right because I cannot help they are unable to refund me. Another company that pulls public record was able to report. So I am confused as why they could not. Especially because I requested a refund initially March 24 2025 via their chat forum due to me seeing they charged me wrong. Then again when they were saying it may take longer than what I paid for which was expedited. Then in the emails March 26th so well within my cancellation period. I have disputed with my bank, and I have submitted a complaint with the ****. I am a single mom and survivor of DV I need my money back all of it. I have locked my lexisnexis and my core logic and my bureaus so that is why it is hard to verify me but no steps were taken and now I do not trust them and want my money back. Thanks.Business Response

Dear ********,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We appreciate the opportunity to respond and clarify the situation.
Our team made several attempts to reach you regarding your account and the documents needed to complete your rent verification. We also attempted to follow up immediately after this complaint was filed. Most recently, we spoke with you on April 16, 2025, and during that conversation, we explained our refund policy as outlined in our Terms of Use.
To clarify, a refund cannot be issued in cases where we are unable to complete verification due to missing or incomplete documentation. In this case, we requested specific documents that were not provided, which prevented us from moving forward with your rent reporting.
We understand that youre navigating a challenging situation, and we are committed to helping you. Once the necessary documents are submitted and we are able to report your rent, we will absolutely honor our refund policy if you choose to cancel within seven days of the first report.
If you need clarification on the documents required to complete your review, please dont hesitate to call us. We are here to support you and want to help.
Sincerely,RentReporters

On January 7, 2025, I processed a payment of $79.95 to rent reporters for their services. I received communication that I had successfully enrolled and they would contact my landlord to verify. I provided my landlords information and waited. I also received emails stating that if I needed to get my credit report updated sooner to pay $25 more to be expedited. I received a few of those emails and my landlord had still not been contacted. At that point, I thought I was being scammed due to the numerous attempts to collect more money and still no outreach to my landlord. I reached out to their customer service and request to cancel the service and a refund on January *******. The customer service agreed to cancel and said they would send it for a review to see if I could receive a refund. I received an email on January 20, 2025 that said At this point, your account is not eligible for a refund. As stated in our Terms of Use, a refund will only be honored within 7 days of posting your rental history. You can review our Terms of Use via this link: ********************************************** along with a few other things. I responded that I wanted to dispute the decision because my rental history was never reported and therefore I was still within the applicable refund policy and would like my refund request to be honored. I never received a response back from them which further lead me to believe that this was a scam. I would like a refund for the services that I did not receive.Business Response

Dear *****,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Were sorry for any confusion or frustration you experienced and appreciate the opportunity to clarify what occurred.
You enrolled with us on January 7, 2025, and provided landlord information as part of the process. In this case, we were unable to verify your landlords connection to the rental property and requested additional documentation to proceed. Unfortunately, that documentation was not provided.
The credit bureaus require us to follow strict verification guidelines, and we must ensure those standards are met before reporting any rent history.
Our refund policy, which is outlined in our Terms of Use and across our website, states that customers are eligible for a full refund if the request is made within 7 days after their rent history is reported. Because your rent was never reported and your cancellation request was made before that step, your request falls outside the scope of our refund policy. That said, were still committed to helping you move forward.
If you would like to resume the process, wed be happy to assist with completing verification. And once your rent is reported, if you decide the service isnt right for you, we will absolutely honor a full refund within 7 days of that reporting date.
Were here to help and hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,

I joined in September and paid a fee of $119.95 to expedite set up. I uploaded the documents right away on their online platform. Apparently set up was not expedited because stated they were missing something that was not made known to me online. I was upset I paid for that but moved on. At set up, I their site mentioned they reported to all 3 bureaus (see screenshots) but they actually only report to Transunuon. This was another major integrity issue for me. One reason I picked this company was for it to post to my credit bureaus so to only have it post to one was very deceiving as their site clearly states otherwise. At sign up, they noted I was able to upload my proof of payment and suddenly the beginning of Feb Im not allowed to do this and I believe they want to link to my bank account, I dont want to do that and They have not posted my Jan or Feb payments. Ive requested that they post my January payment using my proof of payment from my landlords payment portal and they refuse to because of their new policy. This took effect Feb 1st but still refuse to apply the January receipt. They are very deceptive and I would like a refund for all of my payments and my account canceled.Business Response

Dear *********,
Thank you for reaching out through the BBB. Wed like to address your concerns and clarify a few key points regarding your account.
Were not sure where the confusion is, but we do report to TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian, and we can confirm that your rental history has been successfully reported to all three credit bureaus. If youd like, were happy to connect with you by phone and walk you through the steps to verify this on your credit report.
Expediting means that we prioritize your verification immediately; however, if additional documentation is required to complete the process, there may still be some delays. This ensures that all rent reporting meets the strict verification standards required by the credit bureaus.
Regarding RentCheck, it allows you to tag your rent payments directly for us to review. This puts you in control of the process and allows us to serve you quickly and efficiently. Wed be happy to get on a call and walk you through the steps if you need assistance.
Unfortunately, your refund request falls outside of our refund policy. It looks like adding your rent has made a positive impact on your credit score, and we hope we can work together to get you back on track.
Weve made several attempts to contact you but havent heard back. Wed love the opportunity to connect and address your concerns directly. Please reach out at your earliest convenience so we can assist you.
We appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.RentReporters

Rent Reporters promised to contact my landlords and verify my rental payments. They were provided with the Apt information and the leasing department information and delayed contact claiming they could not reach the leasing department on their public listed numbers and delayed completing the job trying to extend the job longer than what was required..claiming they could not contact the leasing agents for 2 monthsBusiness Response

Hello ******,
We appreciate you reaching out through BBB and want to take this opportunity to work toward a resolution. We successfully verified and reported your rental history for one of the leases you had on file. For the other, despite multiple outreach attempts to both you and your landlord, we were unable to complete verification. We understand how important this process is to you, and we made every effort to validate your rent payments.
Additionally, our payment processor flagged multiple payment transactions on your account, which were returned to the cardholder, resulting in an outstanding balance. In order to proceed with any further rent reporting, this balance would need to be collected.
If youd like to move forward, please reach out to us so we can assist you in resolving the balance and completing your rent verification. Were happy to help and want to ensure you receive the full benefits of rent reporting.

Hello *******,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We understand how important this service is to you, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify our policies.
Since your landlord did not respond to our request for additional documentation to complete verification, we offered you the option to submit rent receipts as an alternative. Unfortunately, we did not receive the necessary documentation to move forward with your reporting.
That said, we are committed to helping you get reported. If it would be helpful, wed be happy to get on a call together with your landlord to walk them through the verification process. Please let us know if thats something youd like to set up.
Additionally, we stand by our satisfaction guarantee. Once your initial rent history is reported, if youre not satisfied with the impact, wed be glad to issue a full refund.
We apologize for any misunderstanding and are confident we can find a resolution. We look forward to hearing from you to determine the next steps.

I signed up with Rent Reporters to have my rent to be reported to all 3 credit bureau. After myriad of times submitting my proof of rent and landlord information to the company per their request. I asked for a refund within the 7 day time frame. Rent Reporters employees named yannique and ***** ******* sent me emails stating that I would receive my $94 refund. I recently received another email from ********* Box rent reporters customer service representative stating that my refund request was denied. This company is unethical with lies. I joined another company and gave the same information to them that rent reporters had, they was able to verify my rent with my landlord within 1 day. This is a misleading company who built their brand on deception. Be awareBusiness Response

Hello *******,
We appreciate you reaching out and giving us the chance to address your concerns. Our goal is to make sure your rent history is reported accurately while following the verification standards required by the credit bureaus.
We understand that youve submitted proof of payment for some months; however, we do need documentation for the full period you requested in order to move forward with reporting. Without this, were unable to complete the process.
Regarding your refund request, our terms state that we honor a full refund if a customer changes their mind after their initial rent history has been reported. If you can provide the remaining documentation needed to validate your rent payment history, well be happy to get your reporting completed as soon as possible. And if you decide to cancel after your initial rent history is reported, well gladly issue a full refund.
Were here to help and want to work with you to get this resolved. We look forward to hearing from you!

I went to the website and was advised of expedited fee to have reported in 3-5 business days. After being advised that this fee was only for expedited verification I requested to cancel the service as it defeated the purpose of me needing it. I was advised it was declined due to terms of my landlord not providing docs. Which I wasnt discussing anything about the process with the landlord nor is it an issue. I DONT NEED THE SERVICE and want provided correct info when setting up on how long the process takes. This company is a scam and didnt provide me any service and I literally paid them and less than a week requested a refund.Business Response

Dear Tory,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We understand how important it is to have clarity regarding our services and the timelines involved, and we regret that your experience has left you feeling dissatisfied.
To address your concerns, the expedited fee you mentioned is specifically for fast-tracking the verification process. While this accelerates the time required to verify information, other aspects of the reporting process, such as obtaining documentation from your landlord, remain dependent on the information and cooperation provided. We strive to make this distinction clear during the onboarding process, and we regret if this was not fully understood at the time of purchase.
Regarding your request for a refund, our records indicate that our team provided an explanation about the refund policy. Unfortunately, refunds are not provided in cases where we are unable to complete the reporting process due to insufficient or unverifiable information. This policy is outlined in our terms of service, which customers agree to during sign-up.
In terms of landlord verification, our team attempted to contact the landlord listed on your account but was unable to establish a connection. Verification is a critical step to ensure accurate reporting.
We understand your frustration and apologize if the process did not meet your expectations. Our team remains committed to transparency and providing excellent service. If there is any additional information or documentation you can provide to facilitate the verification process, we'd be happy to review and move forward with your reporting.
We hope this clarifies the situation, but please dont hesitate to reach out if you have further questions or additional details to share.
Sincerely,RentReporters

I am requesting an immediate refund for my canceled subscription. For months, I have been submitting documentation, yet I was repeatedly informed that my documents did not meet your standards.
