      On December 28th 2022 my vehicle (2006 chevy trailblazer) was towed by Steve's Towing without my concent. I was involved in a car accident and this towing company was called instead of me being able to call my own towing services I was never given the option to call my own towing service to be able to get my vehicle towed.my vehicle was not causing any traffic it was on the side of the road on the emergency stop Lane. Like I said I wasn't given a chance to call my own towing services regardless of me having gone to the hospital the tow truck was there before the ambulance giving me time to have had called my towing services. I'm a single mother of 3 and now I'm left between paying my rent or paying the towing services I didn't request and becoming homeless with my 3 kids.im being charged $462 for the towing serves, and $72 per day for storage fees. Although I don't agree I should be paying these fees I would like to see if the business would be able to either waive the fees or work with me on a discount or payment plans for me to be able to recover my car because I need it more right now that I'm injured and I'm going to have to be going to doctor appointments Therapies and I still have to take my kids to school. Asking them to take into consideration that I personally didn't request nor was given the option to you accept or deny there services I'm asking for this fees to be wavied and my car released. I was told by the towing company that if I don't pay the towing fee and storage fees that they would take ownership of my vehicle making that unreasonable reason to take possession of my property it is also abusive to not give me the option to have denied their services forcing their services upon me is inhumane and irrational. They are taking advantage of people's unfortunate situation by taking their car and keeping it due to not being able to pay services not requested.

      Mrs. ******** was involved in an accident on the NB215 freeway, south of Nuevo Rd which resulted in CHP calling our office to tow her vehicle. She was extracted from her vehicle by the fire department and taken to the hospital. When there is an accident on the freeway, CHP does not allow the vehicle to stay on the freeway even if the person involved doesn't want it towed. Being that she went to the hospital she was not able to make arrangements for someone else to come recover her vehicle. CHP requires the vehicle to be removed by the time they are leaving the scene. We are contracted by CHP to service any call that they put into our office. We at no point forced our services upon her. That would be an issue that she will need to take up with CHP. She has stated that the fees are $462.00, that is incorrect. The bill has gone up since she inquired about her vehicle. The tow itself is $308.00. Storage is $72.00 per day and there has been a lien placed on the vehicle as well which is $70.00.
      This vehicle is considered a total loss. I have attached pictures to show the damage. If Mrs. ******** has full coverage insurance, then I encourage her to contact her insurance. If not, she has the option to pay the tow, the lien and to sign over title. If the title is signed over, we will then dispose of the vehicle and the storage fees will be waived. If Mrs. ******** wants to take possession of the vehicle, she will need to pay all fees including the storage. Unfortunate things happen such as accidents, but again we fulfilled our contractual obligations with CHP and our fees stand as they are. If she would like, she can contact CHP and get a copy of the 180 and take up her grievances with them.
