      VSP claims to cover eye exams but their service providers code the exam as medical and then VSP fails to pay for them. They will not let you cancel the plan even if you have not used any of their services. Apparently ****** ********** in ******, ** and Vision Service Plans have an agreement to scam clients.

      They refuse to take my email off of their (SPAM!!) mailing lists even AFTER I have already filled out the Unsubscribe form TWICE already. They are literally breaking federal laws just to have their spam emails land in the inboxes of people who want to have nothing to do with them in the first place!If this is any indication of their ethical conduct and business acumen, STAY AWAY!!!

      VSP ************* is an unregulated company that does NOT allow cancellation once you have enrolled, even when you have never used their services or benefits, until the renewal date of your policy. This is apparently in the fine print of their contract but was definitely a surprise to me, and I'm sure would be to many others. Even if it is written in the contract, I do not believe any reputable company would include such terms. I strongly caution everyone to be SURE they have read the fine print on their policies before getting stuck in this unfortunate situation.

      I was told I needed to submit my out of pocket receipt for reimbursement. I did so. After weeks of nothing, I called again to learn that VSP does not call clients to resolve any matters. I was told I then needed to print and FAX an itemized receipt. I did so. No one called. No check was ever received. I called again to learn the fax was never received, even though I have the sent/received receipt. I was put on hold for 45 min and hung up and no one called back since they dont call clients. I called back and asked for the manager i was speaking to and told they dont have direct lines and transferred to a dead end phone queue. I called back again and was now told I could email them.... and that in 20 days i shold receive a check in the mail.... I am not holding my breath. This started on July 1st 2022 and it is 3/6/2023 and still not resolved. Do not work with this company in any capacity whatsoever. Save yourself the headache, trouble, gaslighting and nightmare. Hands down, the worst company to deal with.

      The VSP individual insurance policy I purchased did not allow me to cancel when I no longer needed the policy. Instead, VSP required me to continue paying for an entire year of coverage, up to the one year anniversary of my purchasing the policy, even after the policy was useless to me. VSP explained that I could not cancel the policy because I had put in a claim while covered by the policy and the company had paid the claim. Only if I had not used my benefits would VSP allow me to cancel the policy. The claim I filed was for a single routine eye exam. When I tried to put in a cancellation of my policy several months in advance of the one year anniversary, VSP told me I couldn't do that. I had to call back within 30 days prior to the renewal date or the policy would automatically renew. Thus, VSP deliberately made it harder to cancel the policy that I no longer needed.VSP's representatives state that I agreed to pay VSP for an entire year of coverage at the time I signed up for it, unless I did not use the benefits of the policy. As I understand it, this is not standard practice in health, dental, or vision insurance. I was covered by Delta Dental at the same time as my VSP coverage was in effect. Delta Dental canceled my policy cheerfully in an easy, two minute phone call, even though I had used their benefits while I was covered. VSP's strategy appears to be to extract money from customers by any possible means, against the wishes of the customer. The fact that customers "agree" to this exploitative arrangement when they click the button purchasing their policy doesn't change the stupidity of VSP's behavior.Anyone considering purchasing individual insurance from VSP should understand the conditions they are agreeing to when they purchase the policy. Based on my personal experience, I strongly recommend against anyone purchasing insurance from a company that goes out of its way to force customers to pay for a product they no longer need.

      I am getting the run around. I am unable to cancel the plan. I am being transferred to various departments. It is easy to get the insur but difficult to cancel. The WORST!

      If you're okay with supporting a company that doesn't care about their employees' hurtful words, feel free to take your business here. I reported Karl E*****, an employee at VSP, to higher management last week, and no action was taken, and nobody even responded to me. Karl thought it would be funny to write anti-semitic bullying comments on a Middle Eastern woman's Facebook video, calling her nose "ugly" and that she needed a "chainsaw" to get rid of it while proudly displaying VSP as his place of employment on his profile. Seriously? I will never purchase insurance from this company.

      Do not get a vision plan here. They will not let you cancel the membership. You cant even cancel it online. I called their membership number. They transferred me four times. Each time they said it was the wrong department to cancel my membership. I had to call **** of America. Report them as fraud and block their account from withdrawing.
