      I started a GoFundMe page to get enough money to inter my ex-husband's ashes about 2 years ago when I lived in *********. After many medical issues (and no emails from them) and need to move to another state I finally had time to check the account and couldn't find it. I attempted searches but the site said they couldn't find it. I waited in chat for more than 2 hrs and no one came on. Finally 2 days later I got an email reply telling me that it had gone inactive but they could reactivate it. When I tried the password I thought it was it did not recognize it so I asked to reset it. I tried multiple different combinations but always told it did not recognize it. Several emails were traded and I finally got it reset to a temporary one but after the temp. was approved I tried to change it to a permanent one but see they need to text a code to verify the account or to a cell (I don't have one and the number they have on file is one I haven't had for almost 2 years). If I choose the call I am told I have to first submit a copy of state ID which I explained I WILL NOT DO (victim of identity theft). They say there's no other way around it.

For security reasons, we're required to verify your identity using an ID document before changing your phone number on file to verify that we're communicating with the true account holder and not a fraudulent actor reaching out us from a compromised email inbox. For this reason, we will need you to provide a photo of your ID through our secure upload form in order to remove the current phone number from your account. ********************** takes the security of your information very seriously and our team has reached out to you directly over email to expand upon our privacy and security policies. We have also offered an alternate course of action in case you still aren't comfortable with providing your ID.       I am rejecting this response because: As I explained I DO NOT HAVE A CELL PHONE (so no text can be received as my phone is a landline) and THE PHONE NUMBER ON THE ACCOUNT IS AN OLD ONE I NO LONGER HAVE. I tried to change the phone number but was told IT COULD ONLY BE CHANGED IF I SENT IMAGES OF MY STATE ID (I have been victim of identity theft in the past so will not do this! I am told that is the only way to change it.

Once we've received that document, we can remove the old phone number from your account so you can add a new one.       I have been receiving fund transfers from Gofundme for over the last few weeks without a problem. Now they have paused transfers without sending me an email as to why. I have tried to reach out to them numerous times and nobody is responding to me. I've sent them multiple customer service requests without a single response back. I have money that has processed but I cannot access it in their system due to this issue. The funds are for medical debt.

      My children and I have been attempting to file a beneficiary claim with GoFundMe since September, 2024. The organizer of the account passed away approx 3 years ago and there is no other listed organizer. The gofundme account was set up in 2016 at the passing of my children's father by friend of his. At that time, my children were under 18yo. Two of my four children are now over the age of 18 and are attempting to collect each their portion of the amount that was donated. However, we have had a difficult time with consistent communication with GoFundme. I have provided them with all the needed information including obituary of the organizer and the family name/email for the organizer who is the executor of his estate and has a copy of the death certificate as one representative, Dennys, requested. Yet, I have heard nothing from "Dennys" since Oct 29, 2024. I did receive a scripted email from "Clover" Nov.8, 2024 telling me what I submitted was not accepted though I forwarded Clover the email thread with Dennys requesting the exact information. At the time of this writing, I have received no email communication from them since Nov.8,2024. I did receive an automated survey in which I complained about their lack of customer service, lack of assistance, and essentially lack of communication and still have received no email/contact from them.

      I was never made aware of the year time limit to disburse funds. And, I'm not aware that the organizer was aware of that either. At a year's time frame from the Gofundme being set up, none of my children were old enough to receive the funds. They were all minors. How was anyone to know about a time limit??

      GoFundMe canceled my fundraiser today for supposedly violating it's terms of service. I was raising money for a friend who needs legal services. Without verifying the reason my friend needed legao services, they decided he engaged in a violent crime and closed my account without giving me a chance to download any information from the fundraiser. They notified me about refunding only one-third of the donors who donated. Anyone who donated more than $1,000 was refunded and I was NOT notified. GFM has harmed my friend, and has made it impossible for him to mount a legal defense.

      I created an emergency GoFundMe on 11/8/24 for my son's brain surgery recovery. Within a few days I linked my bank account to begin transfers. I went through troubleshooting and verification after getting the red banner that my transfers were paused. A week ago I got an email back saying the hold had been removed, but a day later it reappeared. I've opened tickets and emailed multiple times without the ability to talk to a human. I now have almost 10k in funds on the platform, and have not received a single transfer. Expectations for email replies are inaccurate and the inability to chat live is frustrating.

      I started a fundraiser on behalf of the Swiss NGO I run, which promotes ethical governance, on the GoFundMe site. In the description of our NGO I mentioned "We have also amplified and joined voices setting out a pragmatic vision for peace in ******-*********." Apparently because of this harmless statement they have put our fundraiser under review and asked for more information. I have supplied them with the information requested, but it has not been resolved, and in response to my emails I now only get generic emails asking for the same information.       I set up a go fund account last year. I have been trying to get the money from my account transfer to me and to closed out the account. I have been emailing ***** in customer service. He keeps telling me I have to submit my drivers license front and back. I have done this several times. My go fund account has been on hold. It will not let me get the funds that were sent to me. I am start to think they are not going to give me the money thats its a big scam. Theres no phone number to actually talk to someone.

      I initiated a GoFundMe fundraiser to support my brothers resettlement through the ************* program. After realizing I could cover the costs personally, I requested GoFundMe to cancel the fundraiser and refund all donations to the original donors. Despite contacting GoFundMe multiple times over the past month, I have not received any resolution or meaningful response. GoFundMe initially acknowledged my request but has since been unresponsive, leaving the donations in limbo and donors without their funds returned.

      I'm sorry to have to contact you this way since there's no other way to reach you. On Sept. 27, 2024, I started a Fundraiser, "Please Help *** to Set Up An Independent Author Website" asking for $7,000, since I have no **************** left because they're all dead. Your website doesn't disclose till later that people whose **************** are dead won't be successful on GoFundMe. As soon as I set it up, I was extorted by GoFundMe's incessant harassing demands for $ in order to post my fundraiser. Your box told me strangers won't donate to my fundraiser unless I donate 1st. I don't have $ but I couldn't get the box to disappear & my fundraiser posted online for people to see until I gave you $. So, I gave $25 instead of buying groceries. The box was immediately replaced with another box SCOLDING ME for being cheap! Then another box SCOLDING & GASLIGHTING me sarcastically demanding to know "What will it take for you to give more money?" I'm not making this up! To make a long story short because BBB is only allowing me ***** more characters, it's now Nov. 11, 2024 @ 12:48 AM & unless I log into my account, my fundraiser can't be found. I tried looking for it as if I was a stranger just scrolling & I can't find it. All these other fundraisers in my local area that are easily seen that every single one of them are easily funded, how much $ did you extort from them for them to be funded by strangers so quickly and easily? I'm a poor woman struggling to fund this fundraiser so I can afford the excessive cost of living of food, rent, utilities, & more. I'm demanding that since you extracted this money from me fraudulently for profit, you will return the $25 + the processing fee to my bank account by Friday Nov. 15, 2024, & that you will stop intentionally hindering my fundraiser from being seen & funded. There's no excuse why my fundraiser can't be seen on your "local area page of fundraisers needing help" and funded just as easily & quickly as these other fundraisers.

      I am rejecting this response because: While GoFundMe did refund my money, and I thank them, I am rejecting their emails to me where the first email they told me to go to family and friends even though they were aware of there is no family and friends. That was cruel. You read my complaint, yet you tell me to go to family and friends who are dead. I wish I did have family and friends to ask, then I would not need to go onto GoFundMe! I hope everyone of you who have no compassion for those who outlived their support system never experience going through life with no family and friends because they are deceased. It is not fun.The second email gaslighted me by accusing me of wanting them to find funders for my fundraiser, which is not true. The only two things I ever wanted was for GoFundMe to refund my money that they extorted from me in exchange for making my fundraiser visible and stop hiding my fundraiser from strangers. I go to GoFundMe as a stranger, meaning I don't log in nor do I type my name in, and what I immediately see, as a stranger are fundraisers listed under the title of "Needing Momentum" or "Near You" which is not near me because the locations they show are 100 miles away and more. All of the fundraisers showing are not mine. I then filter it down to "Wishes" and my fundraiser does not appear. I filter it down even more to my city and, again, my fundraiser does not appear.  I filter it down again to 7 days, and then 30 days, and still my fundraiser does not appear. I looked on my browser to try to figure out why GoFundMe is hiding my fundraiser from strangers and the answers I received is 1) my fundraiser is set to private. I tried to look for a "private" and "public" button but I have yet to find such buttons to make my fundraiser "public"; 2) my fundraiser is under review; and 3) there is a technical glitch in GoFundMe's system that is blocking strangers from seeing my fundraiser. Stop gaslighting me and intentionally sabatoging my fundraiser because I refuse to pay you to publicize my free fundraiser to strangers so they can decide for themselves whether they want to fund my fundraiser or not. You will not gaslight me when you already made it clear two months ago with your incessant demands for money, demands to know why I won't give more, incessant abusive gaslighting of "What will it take for you to give more?" and accusing me of being cheap! You have somebody in your company programming all these things that are abusive, manipulative, exploitative, gaslighting, and extorting money for profit from people who are hurting financially. I am demanding that my fundraiser be made public and easily visible to all strangers by the end of Friday November 22, 2024. Since it is now 7 days since this newest fundraiser I created, because the other one is two months old and will give the appearance that my fundraiser is not reputable, my newest one is now 7 days old and people when they see it are going to ask why doesn't it have some funding, I am asking GoFundMe to put a note on my fundraising page explaining that my site was accidently hidden from view as the reason for no funds yet. GoFundMe spitefully and maliciously retaliates against fundraisers that do not pay GoFundMe to air their fundraisers. It is a cold hard fact, so don't you claim otherwise and like I said in my original complaint, I hope every Attorney General in the United States of America reads my complaint and response, and investigates you. Shame on you!

      We do not accept any sort of payment from our fundraiser organizers nor do we charge for fundraisers to be displayed on our homepage. The fundraisers on our homepage are curated by an algorithm that calculates the level of engagement with each fundraiser. GoFundMe is designed as a 100% do-it-yourself fundraising platform so it does require sharing your fundraiser link to let the local community know you are in need of support. We can also confirm that your newest fundraiser is posted publicly on the GoFundMe site and is able to accept donations. 

      We have not received a response to our latest message sent via email. If you have additional questions, please follow up with us in your existing support ticket and we will be more than happy to continue working with you to resolve your concerns.

      I am rejecting this response because: I go onto GoFundMe as a stranger, meaning I do not log in and I find, without typing in the name of any fundraiser, fundraisers that are being funded, and fundraisers that have not received one red cent. The people who have not received any funding are just like me. They have nobody. They have no support system. They are just like me. They are just trusting strangers to read their request and consider funding them. Why can I and everyone else see their fundraiser, yet nobody including me can see mine unless I log in and give everyone my password, which I will NOT do? Since you are accusing your algoritrhm of discrimination, may I suggest that you fire your algorithm and replace "it" with another employee who will treat all fundraisers equal.

      I am requesting, but probably I can't do this, every attorney general in the ************************ to consider investigating GoFundMe because they have unscrupulous practices preying on those, like me, who are financially hurting with extortion, and then hiding fundraisers if we don't pay them a lot of money. When GoFundMe gets caught with its pants down, they then lie and make excuses. Please consider investigating them for their unscrupulous practices because how many of your poor citizens are they s******* for profit and then punishing them when they don't pay up?

      This is a new complaint. The 1st time I filed a complaint was 11/18/24 & continued until about 12/1/24 when the BBB link didn't work & I couldn't give my response. Ms. ***** told me to contact Consumer Affairs and 1 other government agency since GoFundMe already responded twice. I wasn't given a working link to respond. This new complaint is I have spent the last half hour trying to log into my GoFundMe page but I have to wait for GoFundMe to send me the code to confirm my phone & they won't send me the code so I can access my account. What does my phone have to do with logging in? I'm not logging in from my phone. I'm logging in from my desktop computer & GoFundMe is refusing to give me the code so I can log in & give my updates. I don't understand how GoFundMe can get away with picking & choosing whose fundraiser is successful & whose fundraiser will fail. They're intentionally claiming they send the code & I have to wait for it. They tell me I have exactly 10 minutes to use a code that I never receive from them. They're intentionally & willfully sabotaging my fundraiser & they blow me off along with blowing BBB off. Both BBB & I are a joke to them. Well, everybody reading all these complaints, including mine, these are strong evidence that GoFundMe is an unreputable site. They claimed in the past that they don't pick & choose which fundraisers are successful & which fundraisers aren't. This latest problem is evidence that they do interfere w/fundraisers to make them succeed or to fail. Stay away from GoFundMe because whoever they hired to do this, the person may decide to make your fundraiser fail by hiding it from others, refusing to give you the code in order to log in, or some other way. Not only these, they'll extort money from you w/the false promise of making your fundraiser successful. They don't stop harassing you for money until you report them to BBB. Try 1 of the other sites. Your fundraiser is too important for these disrespectful life harming games.

      RE: To Go Fund me organization, Back in April of 2024, the **** family put together a campaign to get fund for ****** **** (my own brothers life was tragically taken by gun violence) the problem here is ****** life was taken by the own son of ******* ****, brother of ***** *******, - both organized this gofundme. Now the criminal who murdered the victim for what this fund is being gathered is in jail being prosecuted and retained an attorney. Ive reported such fund a least a few times to the go fund me portal, although this still remains active. Several friends and family kindly donated towards this fund. My intent here is have the Go Fund me organization to investigate where the funds are being directed. Im requesting transparency thats all. First the goal of fund was set up for $20k, then it was lowered to $10k. Any assistance with the matter is greatly appreciated. **

      Your response will not suffice. 

      Although, Gofundme organization stated based on their internal investigation and found no evidence that the funds were going otherwise to the  original intent, can you show a proof that these funds collected ( by organizers) were directly to victim funeral expenses? 
      please investigate thoroughly.
