Moxie Pest control confirmed that they have record of my request of service cancellation as of April 2024, however, they still continued to charge me monthly for service even though I cancelled and they havent performed since the beginning of April. When I questioned them about this, they again confirmed that cancellation was notated and apologized for the inconvenience. I asked for a refund and Account Manager, ******* claimed that the only way I would be refunded for the last quarter of payments is if I agreed to their pest control services for another year. I advised her that this was fraudulent and unacceptable and she then proceeded to offer me a refund for 1 month. In fact, she put it in writing as you will see below that she was willing to refund me the full quarter only if I stayed with them. Please see below-Hello ****** here is a written offer like I promised, To move forward with us, i can commit to making things right on my end as your account manager making sure the interior of your home is always done, making sure your time frames are always granted and respected, and making sure just the service on our end is superior. Moving forward i can credit the past 3 months of monthly invoices totaling $159, as well as getting your Quarterly price down to 129 per quarter making your monthly payment $43 a month. With the credit of $159 on the account, you wouldn't Owe us a monthly payment for almost 4 months (month 4 would be $13 you would owe.) If any confusion i can answer any questions when i reach out tomorrow, thank you for taking the time!Best regards, ******* Account manager ********************** Pest control. When she called me back a week later, I advised her that due to her lack of communication and response time, I felt like nothing would change from my original concerns over the last year. I asked to speak with her mgr. and she indicated that she had no mgr. and would not give me any other recourse for my concerns. Please help put an end to their stealing

    Business Response

Upon full review of the account we see a conversation between the customer and the Account Manager in January of 2024 stating the customer will continue to finish out their contract (last ******* on the contract was in April e2024). Notes indicate remaining active, and per the conversation and contract, the customer would need to call in or provide written 30 day cancellation notice after the April ******* was complete in order to close the account. The next time we got a call to cancel services/close the account in full was in July of 2024. The April 2024 ******* was the final ******* in the *************************** June of 2023. We would be happy to refund any monthly payments that came out after the April ******* was paid for (this equates to a total of $106 refunded back to the customer. For any confusion or frustration on the customers end, we will go ahead and issue this refund now. The monthly payments prior to this covered the cost of the April 2024 ***************** which was the final contractual *******. If those are refunded, an Early CancellationFee of $200 would invoice onto the account for not completing the 4 paid Quarterly treatments originally agreed to. We hope this gesture of good will of a $106 refund is satisfactory.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 08/01/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

Moxie Pest's assertion that I was instructed to call back within ************************************************************** January, the account manager assured me that no further action was required and the contract would be terminated. When I brought this to the attention of the new account manager, she implied that this may have contributed to the previous manager's departure, without taking any responsibility. Her subsequent focus was on retaining me as a customer by offering a $159 credit refund if I stayed with them or if I didnt stay with them, they would offer me $53 back. While I appreciate the $106 refund, my concerns in full still remain unaddressed. This is unacceptable business practice, and I am concerned about the potential impact on other customers. I expect a formal apology acknowledging accountability for the staff's actions and hope the BBB will take this into consideration when evaluating the company's practices.

While we do understand your frustration, we want to note that your complaint has been escalated internally. We plan to review the interaction between you and the Account Manager, including a full investigation on how the call was handled and what our steps for a resolution were. Internally, we have begun the process to review this and will be doing one on one coaching with this Account Manager with any feedback we find necessary to do. For you, we do sincerely apologize for any frustration you have felt due to this. We believe the Account Manager may have apologized for what was a miscommunication from months prior, which is why we refunded the $106, we feel its a gesture of good faith while we internally review and provide coaching for this employee. Your experience is incredibly important to us, and the fact that you did not have a great experience in the end is concerning to us, and tells us we have internal work to do. We hope you accept the refund and apology for your experience and frustration through this process.

a sell representative offers a minimum 12-month service started Jun 2023 with a quarterly bills of $139. the initial bill was $99.00, the 1st official payment was in Jul 2023, 2nd Oct 2023, 3rd Jan 2024, 4th Apr 2024.i attempted to discontinue the service, an account manager name ***** (did not provide last name) stated that the commitment is a 12 payments total, which is not indicated in contract. the account manager stated that I can cancel it but will have to pay the cancellation fee of $170.the account manager kept insisting that the commitment is a total of 36 month. which will end on Jun 2026. I paid the cancelling fee of $170, because I don't want to renew the service. if I'm not mistaken, the account manager is not well aware of the contract. I am writing this complaint because, moxie pest control (riverside office) does not follow contract. contract show 12 months commitment, account manager (*****) kept insisting that the contract is 12 payments.I requested to speak to someone else, but the account manager responded with there is no-one else.i would like request to refund the cancellation fee that i paid ($170). and that Moxie pest control to revise contract to match whatever they want to agree upon.

Upon full review of the account we do see that the original 12 month contract was indeed completed. We have processed a full refund of the $170.00 back to the customer and will be doing internal coaching with the account manager, they are fairly new but that does not excuse mis-reading the contract and charging the customer. Please accept our apologies, we'll be doing additional one on one training internally. Thank you!

We live in a guard gated **mmunity that does not allow solicitation. Two members of the Moxie ** are walking around trying to sell pest control services. The one that came to my door acknowledged that solicitation was not allowed, but said he had to fill his truck and I told him its still soliciting and to leave the area. He did not and we had to get our guards involved.

We've reviewed the service address area (and community/neighborhood) information provided and can confirm we have multiple customers we service within the community. We apologize if this caused any frustrations, and would like to inform you that the door to door representatives are not in this community at all anymore.

****, a door to door person came to our home which is in a gated community with non solicitation laws. She was nice and informed us that Moxie cleans the spider webs from your home. We asked if they clean the second story and how. We were told they have ladders. This sounded great to us since we have a lake and trees right behind our home. These spider webs been a big problem. The workers finally came and we asked them to do the second story. The workers reply was how am I suppose to do that. After 20 minutes the worker was back in his work truck and done for the day. We had to fight with them to come back out and finish the job. Then they refused to clean the garage. Another fight. After the initial visit my wife called and said we just want to want to cancel this horrible service. They said you signed the contract. I informed them under California Tort Laws anything said during a contract, is legal binding just as much as in writing and they did broke the legal binding contract, by not fulfilling their duty. An account manger said they will come out with ladders next time. The workers never brought ladders. Huge disappointment. They been to our home and every time we are aggravated due to them breaking their agreement. The staff keeps calling my wife, and sending bills for switch and bait tactics. At first we just wanted the service to stop since our main focus was not completed. Now we want a full refund for harassment and negligence.

We have completed a full review of the account and found that the $170 Early Cancellation Fee was waived by the Account Manager who helped in canceling the services early, per the customers request, on February 12th, 2024. This was waived as a gesture of good faith for any frustration on the customers part. The open balance on the account of $169.00 is for the last service performed on December 7th, 2023. The service was performed in full, interior, garage and exterior all treated per the customers request. In regards to cleaning the garage, or any other areas, we do not provide sanitation services, nor can we dewebb any interior areas of a property for safety purposes. As the $170 Early Cancellation fee has already been waived, we believe we have acted in good faith in waiving this and the current open invoice does remain active and a valid, owed invoice. The signed service agreement on file has been uploaded for reference as needed.

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Moxie Pest Control. They created a contract in my name without my signature and claimed that I was under contract, even though I never signed anything. When I asked for a copy of the contract, they sent me one with scribbles, falsely stating it was my signature. To make matters worse, they scheduled a service without any prior communication and attempted to charge me for a spray service. However, I have security cameras in my house that clearly show no spraying was done. When I reached out to cancel the contract that I never signed, they refused to assist and only offered a $39 credit as a resolution. I've been unable to reach a manager or anyone who can help me resolve this situation. I would like to request that someone with the authority at Moxie Pest Control contacts me to resolve this issue promptly.

    thank you *****,
Coincidentally enough, I personally am the one that spoke to this customer when they called in and asked to be signed into a contract for regular visits at this home. Not only do we have a signed contract, but I also have a recorded conversation from their request to begin a annual maintenance with us.

Not only do we have a signed contract, but I also have a recorded conversation from their request to begin a annual maintenance with us.
there is also a recording of a call where **** called in personally prior to the first visit and provided credit card information that he wanted added to the account for us to charge for future visits.
normally, we call the customers to set up their regular maintenance but it happened to be that **** called to schedule each visit there after. It seems like maybe there is a lot of miscommunication between Cole  and ******?

also, it may be important to note that this customer signed their contract via email. I dont know if its possible that they have someone hacking into their email to initial and forge a signature as them for some reason? The service contract was sent to the email that they provided us at the time of their initial phone call where they requested to set up the annual subscription, it was opened by that email, signed through that email address and sent a copy at the time of the signature to our company and their email address .  a copy at the time of the signature to our company and their email address

Weve had this service for 4 years always paid on time etc our last service was a 5 min show up with doing nothing the cameras at our house saw when they came but not when they left and I believe its because they left after 5 min I was home watching The bait boxes were not taken care of the granules were not put in the garden we have a large yard what could they have done in 5 min Weve been going back and forth with the company they are rude nor helpful will not refund our non service for that period and dont care about customer service We are looking into ways to fight this, perhaps we gather others on social media that use Moxie and have the same issues and all rally to do it together Hard to understand how people can be so dishonest and live with themselves

On July 14, 2023 we received a visit from a door to door salesperson stating her name was "*****" and she was with Moxie Pest Control. She told us she could get rid of our ant problem and mosquito problem with her Eco friendly pest control service. Lie #1 they do not kill mosquitos on their standard visit that's EXTRA! (Per the person I called to set up a follow up visit) because the ants had not gone and Moxie did not set a visit up for the 3 week follow up just then?!) Even though they said they would be out in 3 weeks, they did however have a appointment set up a for the following month. Back to *****, ***** said she would give us a discount on the service and we didn't have to make our first of $99 payment until the job was done. Lie #2, that same night we got a call from her company recording our call and verifying what she told us. They stated that they would be charging us after the call. When I asked why and that we were told it was after the procedure was complete he said well it was just easier if we did it now while they were on the line and since the guy would be out the next morning. But if I wanted to wait that I could. I did not think it was cool but the guy was coming out the next day and I was already on the phone. High pressured sales tactic anyone? Again I didn't think too much of that either, because after all they had someone call and follow up and it was a recorded call making it seem more legit, so there shouldn't be any he said she said issues? WRONG! ***** also had a handy iPad there to sign us up on the spot for service and she made sure to tell us all her discounts and how good her product was at getting rid of pests and all our neighbors where trying her service. She even threw out some random names to sound more creditable. But we later found out no one took her offer that we knew in our neighborhood. So back to that iPad, ***** flew right past all the words showed us the price she was giving us and our discount, but nope nothing about early termination nothing about the mosquitos being a different more expensive service charge. She even said she would be going around with the technician to make sure he did a thorough job and got the patio furniture for spiders and aquariums for mosquitos. lie #3 & 4. She did not show up with the technician. The technician also showed up and left after about 15 mins of spraying?! Who does that for a complete and thorough spraying? We had ***** before these people and the guy came by every other month and spent more time than this guys first visit. There is come to find out a cancellation fee of $170 and there is a quarterly fee charged a month after the first spraying (that was also not mentioned (lie#5) Who charges a quarterly fee after 3 weeks? These guys. But they sure wont tell you that, I found out when I saw the charge on my credit card statement. called them and got blown off. I left a voicemail and didn't get anything until an emailed August 19 saying they tried to call me but couldn't reach me. I emailed back and then called them. I wasn't getting out of the quarterly fee or any explanation as to why I wasn't told this buy *****. Also no one seemed to care that ***** was a liar and not informing the customers of everything?! So I requested cancellation by email, they sent me on email that wasn't even a response to my request it was a statement of this is what your fee is and we will see you in November for your quarterly visit, call us if you have ******** issues before this? Needless to say I left another message and actually got a callback from ***** The Account Manager of this place, she is the meet all and speak all for this company no one is higher than her in that company to handle disputes. Or so she told me. She was smug and rude and told me exactly how it was going to be. We are not going to credit back your fee we offer a lifetime satisfaction guarantee and we can come back out there to your house and handle your pest problem. I said you haven't handled it yet in your last 2 visits why would I want you back out to spray. I want to cancel service and I want a refund on that quarterly fee because your person lied to us. Without skipping a beat she told me well you signed a contract and I can cancel your service but there is $170 fee. WHAT!? now back to that recording call, the guy on the phone said that "you could cancel anytime," all we ask is that you pay the discounted rate for the service received", he didn't say it was a cancellation fee it was "we just ask that you pay the service fee". I was thinking no problem I need the service I am not going to have to cancel, these people seem up and up. NOPE! my bad, my bad all the way on that one. So now I am stuck with some $438 fee for Moxie Pest control on my credit card and using a raid can of ant spray to stop the ants from entering my home. Because oh by the way after we ended our call ***** charged my credit card because it was on file! Even she said she would send an invoice to my house and I told her not to charge me. Needless to say I have place a claim online but I am still waiting to find out if my credit card company can even help me with this. So I am here now asking for your help with this matter. I have never skipped on a bill or tried to pull one over on anyone. But here I am now with services rendered that didn't work the 2nd time around even though we were assured it would, then we were billed for fees that we thought we were told were quarterly, the person did spotty work the first time as if he had been to our house before and it was a follow up call. I had ***** for 2 years, they charged less then these guys and they did a way better job and we never had an issue like this. **************** told us a different story about the mosquito spraying then *****, and their customer service is none extant! I will be getting a No Solicitor sign thanks to these people, never thought I would do that. the last straw was *****. I hope this serves as a warning to other people if they check this site before buying from door to door Moxie sales people.

Person came to our door selling pest control. We have bad combo of ********* bees and spiders due to our location. This man proceeds to tell us its an every three month service, we can cancel anytime, and the chemical is one of the best in the service. Since the treatment we have had huge increase in ticks, spiders, and many other creepy crawly things. Call to cancel and they proceed to tell us we signed a contract! Nothing was mentioned about a contract or cancellation fee. We signed one item on a tablet about confirming the service. This is a fraudulent company. They are liars and should not be allowed to do business. Not only does their treatment not work I cannot cancel without paying hundreds for a contract that was not even mentioned? How is this allowed? How have they not been sued? We were never sent documentations on any contract we signed. We are taking to a lawyer now to discuss our best options.

This company Moxie Pest Control are just thief's. They promised to get rid of my bugs. They came out spent about 30 minutes walking around the house with a duster dusting our house. Then he treated with pellet s one trip around the house. My yard is like 1.2 acres. Then the bugs got terribly worse. Call to complain they said we are coming on Friday for termite inspection I so no they need to take care of bugs first. They said they would call me back. Got email asking what kind of bugs. I said I don't know all kinds. Another week or two nothing. I called to cancel and they say ok will call you back. No phone call just $190 dollars stoling from my bank. Wife called girl says it's a cancellation fee. Her account manager said it's how much the treatment they did was. So I guess I paid $240 for nothing. They can't even get the story straight. Thanks *********************.
