Dryer was supposedly fixed on June 20th 2025. Not spinning. Broke today July 3rd. Technician spoke only Russian. Did not communicate the warranty before he started the work. He even admitted through translation that he forgot. They are coming back tomorrow on 4th of July. Hopefully I can send a good review. To be determined.

Dear BBB,We would like to inform you that on 4 July 2025 our technician returned to the customer, resolved the dryer issue, and the appliance is currently operating correctly.Warranty coverage All of our repairs are backed by a limited warranty. The terms are explained by our office before work begins and are detailed in the service invoice.Technician qualifications Some of our technicians speak with an accent or use translation tools, yet this does not affect their professional competence. Every technician completes mandatory training, certification, and follows our internal quality standards.Because the malfunction has been fully corrected and the appliance is now in proper working order, we respectfully request that the previously submitted negative review not be published, as it is no longer relevant and could mislead readers about the current situation.Sincerely,Solo Appliance Repair ************************

I originally had a great experience with Solo Appliance Repairbut it quickly turned into a frustrating and costly nightmare. On June 8, my dryer stopped heating. I found Solo online, impressed by their 4.8-star rating, and scheduled service for June 11. The technician replaced the heating element and temperature sensor in 25 minutes and charged me $360. He confirmed the dryer was heating, and I tested it againeverything seemed fine. The next day (June 12), the dryer wasnt heating again. I called Solo, and they sent another technician. He said the temperature sensor was burning out due to a clogged exhaust vent. He replaced the sensor at no charge and told me not to use the dryer until the vent was cleaned.I followed instructionsI didnt use the dryer and had the vent cleaned June 13. The dryer worked until June 21.I called Solo again on June 22 and was told it was outside their 10-day warrantywhich no one ever mentioned. I was told a manager would call the next day. No one called. I followed up June 24, finally got a call, and was again asked if I had cleaned the vent or used the dryer too early (I hadnt). They scheduled a tech to come June 25 between 46 PM. I took time off work. No one showed up. I called at 5:50 PM and was again asked the same vent questions. I was told a manager would call. No one ****** of June 26, I still havent received a call. Im disputing the $360 charge with my credit card company.Solo Appliance Repair wasted my time, money, and energy. Theyre disorganized, unresponsive, and dishonest. Avoid them at all costs.

Beware of this company!!! I called asked how much a service call was they said ***** and that would be applied to the repairs if I had them do the repair. The tech was awsome did the repair in about 1/2 hour . It was a leak in Refrigerator water dispenser. I had all the parts except for 1 small plastic elbow. Worked fine when he was done. He charged me ****** he said that was what the company said. Even though they quoted me ***** it was after 5 so the office was closed. I called next morning wanted a break down of what the charges were. First **** could not tell so she said she woud have a manager call me back . They never called back so 6 hrs later I called them got a hold of a women who said she was a manager but she could tell about the charges. She asked me if I wanted a refund I said yes so she put me in hold for 20 mins I sure hoping I would go away I didn't. Then she said you have to request a refund through their Email . I told her I thought you were the Manager I am She claimed but you have to email a request. I asked the name of the owner. She asked why I wanted to talk to him thats why . She refused to gi e me the name she said look it up. Something shady about this place . Be very careful.Actually I would just vo somewhere else especially after reading their reviews. I am waiting for someone to contact me.

They are a scam. I thought they were great about working on my dual in a all oven, said they needed half up front while the part was on back order. In that time my washer went out so I called and they were quick to send a technician. They claimed it was repaired, nearly 400$ and asked for Venmo. I paid, unfortunately. The following day it didn't work, I repaired it myself eventually. I later called about the ovens part on back order, they claimed to not know me stating they never worked with me and hung up.

Dear BBB and Mr. *********** you for your feedback. After carefully reviewing our records, we were unable to locate any customer account under the name ****** ***** or a service that matches the description provided. We do have a past client with a similar last name, but the first name is different, and the services were completed in 2023 and 2024 not in 2025 as indicated in this complaint.Additionally, we would like to clarify that our company has not accepted Venmo payments for over six months, and at the time in question, we had already removed it as a payment option altogether. Its possible that this interaction was with a different business, possibly operating under a similar name.We take accusations of this nature seriously and have conducted an internal review. Based on the information available, we respectfully believe this may be a case of mistaken identity. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and remain available should any further clarification be needed.Sincerely,Solo Appliance Repair ************* Team

A technician came out and fixed my machine rather quickly, and I asked for the part that he replaced, and he took it with him when I was not looking. I'm not happy with that and when asked how much it would be, he quoted me one price and then he quoted me two or three other prices which didn't make sense and I wanted a breakdown of labor part, etc. and he said he will give it to me after I pay. I said I would like to see an invoice before I pay. He first told me it was gonna be almost $500 and I said I can buy a new machine for almost that . Then he said it would be three something and he acted like he didn't understand me because he had a Russian accent. He understood everything else I said. when I told him to put the old part back in when I would not pay before seeing an invoice, I told him I only had $267 and he was charging me 289 at the final quote. He said he would not take it. So I said put the old part back in and then he contacted somebody and said yes they would take it. Once I got the invoice it still was not broken down properly. The invoice stated I owed $99 after the diagnostic fee.I feel ripped off and I feel like he was trying to get as much money as he possibly could without me being curious as to why. I will not use the company again. I hope this company does better in the future. I should've checked the reviews, but I didn't know what company they were sending out because I found them through *************** washing machine repair at on ******. You don't have a heads up on what company they are sending. Be aware.! This technicians name was *****.

Dear BBB,We would like to clarify several important points based on our technicians internal report and office records. Our technician arrived at the scheduled time and successfully completed the repair of the washing machine, including the replacement of the necessary part. The old part was removed and taken away along with its original packaging. At no point during the visit did the customer request to retain the old part.Regarding the price: the total was discussed and adjusted several times at the customers request. In the end, we provided a significant discount, and the work was completed for a much lower amount than initially quoted. We accepted a partial cash payment as a gesture of goodwill and understanding of the customer's **************** for the comment about the technicians accent we want to emphasize that having an accent in no way diminishes a technicians qualifications or professionalism. We are proud of our international team. This is the ************* a country where people from different backgrounds and with different accents work honestly, help customers, and build businesses. We believe such comments should not be used to discredit hardworking professionals. From our side, the service was rendered in good faith, with full consideration of the customers needs and maximum flexibility on payment. We respectfully believe that this review is unfounded, contains subjective accusations, and should not be published as an official record that may damage our business reputation.Thank you for your attention. We remain open to further dialogue and are always committed to transparency and high-quality service.Sincerely,Solo Appliance Repair

Called for frig/freezer repair. They told me my 5 yr old frig/freezer needed free-on and a sensor. said he would sed receipt, he didn't, after texting him again, he sent text only saying I pad 420. Two weeks later, it's not working, called and lady said only have 10 day warranty. I explained he never gave receipt or mentioned the warranty or I would not have had them do the work. She said manager would call in 1 hr, he didn't. I texted the tech and nothing. Do not do business with them. They don't fix the problem and then won't call you back. In other reviews they make up excuses as to why they are not wrong and say they fixed it correctly. I would never use them again. ignoring customers is not a way of doing business.

Dear BBB,Thank you for the opportunity to clarify the complaint submitted by ***** ****** (ZIP: *****, Review ID: *********** May 21, 2025, our technician serviced the customers refrigerator/freezer. The diagnosis revealed the need for a freon refill and sensor replacement all work was completed on the same day. The total charge was $420, which included the cost of parts, freon, service call, and labor. Confirmation of the total amount was sent to the customer via SMS. A detailed invoice was not requested at that time.Nearly two weeks later, the customer contacted us again. Although our standard warranty is 10 days and had already expired, we accommodated the request and sent a technician back out. During the follow-up visit, a new issue with the compressor was discovered one that had not been present or diagnosable during the initial repair.Even though the warranty had expired and this was a separate issue, we offered a partial refund of $300, retaining only the amount that covered the service visit and materials used.We always strive to treat every customer with honesty and respect. In this case, our team responded promptly by phone and returned for a second visit going above and beyond our warranty policy. We regret that the customer felt ignored, and we continue to work on improving our communication and service transparency. We believe that our actions in this case were fair, reasonable, and aimed at resolving the issue in good faith.Sincerely,Solo Appliance Repair Team

Absolutely outrageous. A piece of ice cost me $325. The technician came out quickly, which I appreciated but performed the work without ever disclosing the price beforehand. Had I known it would cost over $300 just to remove some ice, I would have gladly paid the service fee and sent him on his way.Yes, it was nice that he got here fast but thats where the positives end. Being charged hundreds of dollars for a task that took minimal time and effort is nothing short of a scam. There was no transparency, no heads-up, and no opportunity to decline.I would never recommend a company that operates this way deceptive pricing and taking advantage of people in urgent situations. Steer clear

Were sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond.According to our records, the technician performed a full diagnostic and maintenance service on your freezer, which included identifying and clearing a blockage caused by ice buildup behind the panel. This is a standard maintenance procedure that restores functionality and prevents further issues. The flat-rate charge of $325 for this type of service was communicated by the technician and agreed to at the time of service. The invoice was signed by the customer after the work was completed. We understand that the work may have appeared simple, but our pricing reflects more than just the minutes spent on-site. It includes the technicians expertise, same-day response, travel, and the tools and time required to safely service the appliance. Were genuinely sorry if any part of the pricing or service explanation was unclear. Transparency is a priority for us, and your feedback helps us improve our communication moving forward. Solo Appliance Repair Team

Do not use this company. I suspect them of fraud. A technician came to diagnose a problem with KitchenAid refrigerator which was not cooling either in the fridge or freezer. Once diagnosed the said the fan was not working. He repaired the fan but told me he need to do further investigation to make sure the fan didn't cause any other damage due to not working properly. 30 minutes later he said "bad news" the compressor is shot. This repair he said would cost from $1200 to $1400. The KitchenAid is very high end (about $4000), I didn't want to make a decision impulsively, so I told them I would reach out after I'd done some research. Before the tech left, he asked if I was going to keep the unit plugged in? I thought the question was strange, but responded yes, I would. He then stated it would be dangerous to keep it plugged in, because although the compressor was not operating it could still overheat. I said ok and unplugged the ******* was unplugged for two days while I considered my options. In the meantime, I looked up the reviews on Solo Appliance Repair 1.25 Stars. After considering the reviews and the "strange question about unplugging the unit", I decided to plug it back in. Low and behold the KitchenAid was working fine. Within a few hours it was cooled and making ice. I suspect there was never anything wrong with the compressor only the fan, but with the unit unplugged until they came back to repair, I would never have known.BEWARE - do your due diligence and checkout these companies!
