This company represented that they would send an electrician to my home today to diagnose and repair a gif outlet that was not working. They told me the consultation fee would be $69.00 after which they would give me an estimate for the work. Then the electrician arrived, he told me the fee was not $69.00 but $685. I allowed him to diagnose the problem and the fix turned out to be reconnecting the *** outlet more sercurely and turning another outlet on in the garage. I wrote a check for $685. Tonight, I found that the electrician had left my breaker box disassembled with the cover plate just thrown on the ground. I stopped payment on my check and left a message at the company. This is not an acceptable or honest business practice. I am not an electrician and cannot put my own breaker box together myself.

      Business Response

      Dear ******************,

We acknowledge your inquiry and appreciate the opportunity to respond. It is not uncommon for service company's to charge a dispatch fee. Our dipatch fee is *****. If our technicians arrive to find that in order to solve a problem he/she must troubleshoot a circuit to restore power then a ****** troubleshoot fee is quoted before any work is performed. Troubleshooting an electrical circuit to find the cause of a short is a systematic process that requires careful examination of the circuit components, outlets, switches, junction boxes, or exposed wiring. Then through this investigative procedure the wires are fixed or faulty device replaced. We did check our call recording to check the integrity of your inbound call. All was in line with company policy.

As far as the electrical panel cover not being reinstalled, that was a huge over sight and would absolutely have no problem with sending ************** back out to install panel cover. We did recieve your message from last night at 7:40pm and our office staff would have set up a visit even if this complaint was not issued with the BBB.

Coincidentally, while writing this response i was notified that ************** will be returning today to install panel cover. Thank you again for the opportunity, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

      Customer Answer

The business did not inform me of the $685 blanket fee when I called. They only spoke of the $69.00 fee. I did pay the higher fee after they arrived and located the tripped gif outlet and tightened the wires in another. But after I found the breaker box cover thrown on the ground and the box open and the wires exposed, I put a stop on the check because the service rendered was NOT worth $685. Had I been informed of that charge during the initial call, I would not have made an appointment with this company. This was clearly a bait and switch. I tried to go along with it, but not after I was left with the breaker box in pieces. I am not an electrician and it's not my job to clean up after this company.  If their blanket charge is $685 they should offer that information during the initial call.
