This business has very slow customer service. I paid once for their background report, after weeks of waiting- I finally received the report I paid for. Now (a month later), I was just charged again ($25.11) which would make it appear that they signed me up for a subscription, which I never signed up for. When a user activates their account, they must provide an electronic signature authorizing Intelius to charge their payment method as described, including for the automatic renewal of their membership. Our Billing Terms are conspicuously explained on our registration page and in our Terms of Use. Customers are sent a confirmation email for any orders placed on the site.
To access the services and obtain a report, ***************** must first log into their account by visiting ********************/login. The user's username will be the email address they used to create their membership, and the password will be the one they entered upon creating their account. If ***************** does not remember their password, they can click on the "Forgot My Password" link on the login page or get in touch with us to have their password reset manually.
We have cancelled all memberships and refunded ************** account back to the payment option used to enroll, and no further charges will be incurred. I came upon their website wanting to do a reverse phone look-up. The link to their site said Free reverse look-up and I clicked on it and went filled out what was necessary and when the information was ready they wanted me to pay them $0.95, which is not free. I did not finish the request. Now for the last 10 days I get 6 to 12 push notifications about this number every day. I called them and was told that I had to unsubscribe from this service. I never knew I had ever subscribed to anything from them, but I said Okay as long as they would stop sending me these push notifications. I received the e-mail and unsubscribed, but they kept coming. I unsubscribed again and they are still sending me push notifications about this number. I have received 3 since I have been filling this out. If they do not stop coming I will contact the Prosecuting Attorney of Arkansas and see if they can do something to get ********* to stop doing this.Business Response

During this past week6/9/2024-6/13/2024 I attempted to find a background check service and a reverse phone lookup service. I settled on Intelius as tgey advertised they provided both for a fee after a trial.Not only did they fail to provide but they tried to charge extra to "instruct" me how to cancel, refused to refund, did not give the 50% discount they promised, and paid themselves the full charge on the very first day of the trial. On June 11, May, 14, and April 15, of 2024 my credit Privacy scan reports from Experian continue to alert me that PeopleConnect website as sharing or having possession of my personal information. &This is a complaint against PeopleConnect(PeopleFinder web sites, Inteliu), and other platforms under their control. The complaint pertains to the unauthorized dissemination of personal information and the failure to comply with a request to remove my personal data. I contacted PeopleConnect sites and requested 4 times over the last 4 months for the removal of my personal data from their databases and platforms due to concerns regarding online privacy and data security. My credit privacy scans from Experian flag PeopleConnect(people finder) website as having my personal information. Their Customer support teams have not confirmed any actions related to my request for the removal of my personal information from their website and databases. ? The open accessibility of my personal information on PeopleConnect sites contributes to identity theft and compromises my personal safety. I am requesting the Better Business Bureau to please investigate this issue and prevent PeopleConnect(and related websites under their control) from violating privacy laws and regulations. Subject: Complaint Against Intelius (PeopleConnect) for Failure to Remove Personal Information To Whom It May ********* am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Intelius, a company that owns PeopleConnect, for their failure to remove my personal information from their database despite repeated requests and the provision of necessary details. The handling of my requests has been extremely frustrating, unhelpful, and has wasted a significant amount of my time.On 2024-05-21, I attempted to use the online suppression tool provided by PeopleConnect at *****************************************. I was assigned the record number 8cd81f40-5375-4e9e-ad29-49861529b1c8. However, I encountered a glitch that prevented me from selecting any email or phone number for verification. As a result, I had to email [email protected] to request the removal of my information.I provided my full name, date of birth and the record number assigned by their suppression tool using those information, a screenshot of my personal information as it appeared on their website and screenshot of the tool not working, and weblink to my info **************************** Despite providing all the requested information, I received a response stating that they were "unable to identify a report or validate your identity based on the information provided." This response is absurd, given that I provided clear and accurate information directly from their own website.Subsequent emails to resolve this issue were met with the same automated reply, indicating a lack of genuine customer support and assistance.
