They do not offer a one time price for one report. They require a subscription to get one report and then say, "Cancel any time by calling ************." during normal business hours.(see attached0 However, the number does not work during normal business hours, so I cannot unsubscribe. It is a total scam. They CLAIM a BBB A rating, so I trusted that promise. (see attached) They lie to steal people's money. BBB needs to change its A rating. I do not want to pay for another month. Furthermore they then require additional charges for search services that should be included, that also require a subscription. They do not offer a one time price for one report. This is an intentional scam. In my opinion, BBB is just as responsible for letting this scam go on by giving them a trust worthy rating. The Truthfinder site does not provide a working method to delete personal data / profiles. Their "delete" option only works if you have an email associated with your data. Their process to "suppress" personal information requires you provide EVEN MORE personal data in order to have your data removed. This enrages me. I understand they source their data from many places and compile data that is publicly available but I do not authorize Truthfinder, their parent company, or any affiliates to compile, store, sell, display, or otherwise use my data in any way. The fact that they publicize an "A" rating from BBB is beyond my comprehension. They are not a trustworthy or moral business. I would speculate they get their data from companies participating in illegal security breaches. Is this even being investigated? I give them a F- rating.Business Response

Website does not clearly advertise or show that they charge for reports. Only after you agree to several terms, forced to provide your email information and to agree to receive marketing advertisements in order to proceed with receiving report information do you get to the end and receive a paywall in order to receive the information you just provided your information and consents in exchange for.This is not only really slimy as a business practice but misleading to consumers.I would like to see the website clearly state how much reports cost before you are forced to give all of your information to them to see what the paywall is. The website clearly states the look up results are free and after a half hour wait I am required to pay. This is a lie . Its bate tactics and its illegal . I am furious. This is my information. I would not have wasted my time or data trying to find my information after being lead to believe I did not have to pay. When the search was finally completed the site has a question window which rudely states If it were free we go broke. Like its some kind of joke. You are playing with peoples lives and emotions. If the site would honestly have said there was a charge then no harm no foul. But it waited till the search was completed. I spent much time answering questions and waiting for the report to generate.All the while be bombarded with advertisements and sales. Then I pay for the report. It does not allow me access to the report I purchased. It keeps asking to verify over and over and over again. Ive taken all necessary steps. Waiting, restarting, reverifying, powering devices on and off. I paid for a product I didnt receive. Now I have to spend time doing this report. I ordered one month of TruthFinder service in October 2024. I did not auto renew and canceled that option. Truth Finder charged me for 3 months of service when I only subscribed for 1 month. They refunded November 2024 via ****** complaint. But refuse to refund December 2024. Instead they extended my use through Jaanuary which indicates to me that they know they overcharged me. I feel that them giving me the month of January , they feel justified in taking my money because they are giving me a service that I did not ask for. I only used the service ONe Day, I believe? I am sure they are scaming thousands of people out of their money because people are not aware that they are still charging them for canceled services. I want a refund of $28.33 for December 2024. I canceled the service on the same day that I ordered because I never elect auto renewal on any Item or service. Unfortunately, a receipt is not given to show that you have canceled auto renewal. Truth Finder took two extra payments from my account but only returned one payment. They state that they have a limited amount that they can refund, however, they can take as many payments from customers that they can get away with, but only return one payment, that is not acceptable! They can see that I Only used the service in October, yet charged me for November and December as well. I would like to be refunded the other payment of $28.33 immediately.
I request to have this negative review placed on the BBB site, and I am also going to submit a negative Yelp review. I would also suggest that BBB do an investigation on the company/service. I am sure they are ripping off thousands of consumers, Some who are probably not aware that they are continuing to be charged for a service that are not using.
