Thank you to everyone who has left a review on this 'service'! I received the same notice and the small print that caught my eye was 'This is not a government agency' - then HOW and WHY are you asking for payment of $87.25?!?!?! I checked the BBB and thanks to the reviews, I did not send the payment.

fradulent and deceptive practice of sending certificate of status request form that resembles government forms. Beware of them and make sure that you double check such mails that come to you and report to authorities if appropriate.

Right after my Dad filed Mom's 501c3 nonprofit organization in the ***********, he received a letter in the **** Postal Mail from CA CERTIFICATE SERVICE in *************, congratulating him on registering his business with the ******************* and billing him for $87.25 by check or Money Order only. My Dad sent in a check for $87.25. Then, he called their office and she said that all he has to do now is to send in $30 every year to keep his CA nonprofit status in compliance with the ***********. When I called the ** office, she said that all my Dad has to do is go to the website, bizfileOnline.sos.**.gov, and login, and simply download the certificate for free. He's already paid the $25 to the *********** and other fees. There's no need to pay an additional amount to a service that doesn't represent the ***********. In fact, the *********** doesn't even have an office in *************. I waited on the phone for about 2 hrs to speak with a representative, and she said that they don't outsource to third parties. BEWARE OF THIS FALSE INVOICE. It is NOT real. They are taking your money for their own, personal profit. Also report them to the *************************** in *************. Once the *********** has accepted your business, there are no additional fees. Watch out for false prophets in wolves clothing!

Misleading and fraudulent!! They disguise notice as a bill with a due date within 3 days of receipt. 10 total from there notice date, but I just received it today on the 15th. Starting a new business and received this $87.25 bill and another $86.25 from Labor Poster Compliance. Letter states my articles have been filed with the state and are complete. Just 1 more step in order to attain my CA Cert of Status. Misleading new business owners into thinking, in order to obtain this, you must pay this bill.

I just started an LLC, so this company must have seen this information. It sent me two forms, one asking $87.25 for a "Certificate of Status" and one asking $86.25 for "Labor Poster Compliance". The forms look official, as if they came from the ******************* and as if these two forms with money are required by the State. I had to do a search on the web to realize that this was a scam.
