******************* was installed June 2023. His quote referenced contractor licensing but it now appears he is not licensed. After heavy rain last year it was discovered that one of the steel bar tubes was not properly soldered and therefore taking in rain water. When opening and closing gate, water spills out of tube down gate which is now appearing orange in color implies rusting. *** asked over past 6 weeks for *** to come out to look and then fix the issue. Emailed, called the office and texted ***. He came out only to try to sell me his new building contractor business services. Promises to send some to fix gate but never has. He came out last week ( may 6th week)with an associate in hopes of getting my business to remodel my garage ( no way Id engage him to that) and I told him I was still waiting for gate fix. Promised to fix next day still not fixed. His associate called me this week to tell me they would do my garage project without getting permits yo make it cheaper for me. Clearly unethical scamming business. If he was licensed, I file a complaint with state licensing board.

SF Bay Automatic Gates is not a licensed gate contractor and has been doing gate contracting work for years without a license. Owner *********************** ****** ("***"), is only associated with a general building & concrete license of Urban Builders and Remodeling as of Oct 2023 (#*******). The company has multiple shell corporations and no physical business address. ****** is also associated with Ferrum Gate and Access, doing fence/gate work since at least 2020.We contracted with SF Bay Automatic Gates on 8/26/21 to design/install a pedestrian gate and automatic sliding gate. Contract has 7 year warranty on parts/labor. They upcharged us later. I paid them $17,000 ($1,000 on 8/26/21 and $16,000 on 11/12/21). Gates installed Nov 2021.Both gates have NEVER worked and currently are inoperable / safety hazard. They did not powder coat per contract. The pedestrian gate sagged and stuck closed, and now doesn't stay closed. The solar was installed incorrectly. The gate had endless battery/power issues. They consistently failed to respond to my calls/texts/emails for help. They improperly wired solar panels and placed them in wrong location. On 7/5/23, technician pulled wire from panel showing it was cut off and not attached to anything. On 8/8/23, they switched from solar to electric. Gate still did not work, but now real problem was evident. SFBAG installed a very heavy (6 ft steel), long (19 ft) gate on an INCLINE using LiftMaster CSL24UL Gate Operator. There is no LiftMaster gate operator designed to work with a gate on an incline. They also set the Force Reversal to *** (a safety hazard). Gate doesn't stay open or closed. It flys down the track and slams into safety stop. This is a SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.I emailed on 12/5/23 and 1/10/24. They refuse to correct problem or refund money. On 12/5/23 *** replied that they are "out of business" and I should find another company. SFBAG is still in business - answering phones, active website, ******* Yelp, and ******* ads.
