I hired grade potential for some math tutoring for my son. I hired them by calling them and arranging for the tutoring over the phone. No commitment, package or contract was discussed. There was no contract sent or signed. It was just supposed to be tutoring at an hourly rate of $59/ hour, based on an oral conversation over the phone.
My son received tutoring inconsistently, on an as needed basis, which we arranged directly with the tutor. Grade Potential was billing me $216 twice a month. I called and told them as soon as I noticed these recurring charges that my son wasn't getting that much tutoring each month and why were they billing me like that. The guy said I could pause the billing, he would issue a partial refund, and I would have 12.5 "banked hours" of tutoring that had already been paid for that I could use before I would be charged again. This was documented in an email. They issued the partial refund and tutoring was paused for the summer.
In Fall 2024, my son started getting the tutoring again. Instead of using my 12.5 "banked hours" that I had already paid for in the previous school year, they just started charging my card again- $216 twice a month.
I called again, the woman was extremely rude. She kept insisting I had a "package" and they were going to charge me whether I used the services or not. I told her about the previous communication, that I had banked hours and was told no charges were supposed to be made to my card until those hours were used up. She refused to issue a refund and they've continued to bill me ever since. I've sent multiple emails telling them they are not authorized to charge my credit card. They keep charging me. At this point they have charged me $4104 in improper charges. They are not responding to my emails. This is complete fraud. My son hasn't revived any tutoring and they continue to bill me!

      Strongly recommend!!!
I have had nothing but positive experiences with Grade Potential and our tutor, Austin. We are a homeschool family and my son who is 13 has started struggling with testing. Austin has taken time to create worksheets for him and is amazing when she works with him in person. She’s fantastic at communicating and is always punctual!
When I first called in, Brandon answered all my questions and was very patient about my wanting to speak with my husband and not pushy whatsoever.
I’ve had people in contact with me at all times to be sure everything is going as expected. Really can’t rave enough!

I have to say, I was a bit skeptical about an in-home tutoring. I didn’t know if the tutor was totally qualified, knew the curriculum for my kids’ next year in school, or would be able to bond with them, which is important. Their tutor, Ayesha, is absolutely fabulous. She’s experienced, listens, and knows how to connect with my boys. My kids went from absolutely not wanting to have a summer Tutor (before meeting her) to being open to learning during the Summer, which I will take as a win! Very impressed and appreciate her so much.

Very unprofessional business! Tudor was always late. He either forgot what time that he said that he was going to tutor my daughter or he was just late. He would always tell her that he would have sent her work to do before the session never got it until the very last minute so she didn't have time to complete it. When I sent him a text asking when he was available to tutor I didn't get a reply for like 3 or 4 days. They say that there is a 30-day trial. I'm asking for a full refund because I'm just not satisfied with the results of the tutoring and I get told that they're going to review everything and email me what they think I should get back if anything. I want everything that I've paid which is $177 I want that all back because your tutor didn't do what he was supposed to.

I contacted Grade Potential Tutors requesting a tutor for my special needs child (autistic, verbal) for three one-hour sessions per week. I clearly communicated these requirements from the start. Despite this, the tutor assigned to us was only available two days a week—contradicting the original agreement.
We conducted one session, which I personally observed. My daughter was enthusiastic, engaged, and cooperative. There were no issues. However, on the day of the second scheduled session, the tutor abruptly canceled via text, stating that my daughter should be reassigned to someone “who specializes a little more with special needs.” This was both inaccurate and unprofessional.
When I attempted to cancel services, the representative tried to rush me off the phone and defer the matter to someone else. Only after I insisted on staying on the line did they process the cancellation.
This company misrepresented its ability to meet our needs and handled the situation with a lack of care and professionalism. I would not recommend their services, particularly for families seeking support for special needs children.

We are very pleased so far with our son’s tutor, Brenda. She is absolutely wonderful and very patient. She made our son feel supported and heard. He understood the subject better after his first tutoring session and was excited to do the math work. Thank you for sending such a great tutor! We recommend Grade Potential Tutors.

We are very happy so far with our tutoring match. She is patient , very knowledgeable, and explains the subject matter so that it is understandable. We look forward to working with Grade Potential for the rest of the year and all our tutoring needs.

aboutsuley horrible company. grade potential promised matching my child with a tutor and said that they had "many" tutors in the area. this proved false and an extension was requested for the company to continue searching for a match. the extension occurred and still nothing. the company was quick to take my money and slow to deliver on promises.

Company is a racket and a ripoff. They promise to pay you a certain rate, then they charge you $48 for your background check. Avoid working here. They owed me $60 for tutoring. They paid me $30. Chances are you won't break even for all the miles you drive and time you spend working. It's a negative sum gain all told.

We needed tutoring for our fourth grader but didn’t know where to start. Grade Potential was recommended to us - and we are so grateful!! Their experience, background and large network eliminated the need for us to go searching and interviewing on our own. We were able to get started almost immediately!
We described our child’s strengths and weaknesses, and they were able to match us with an amazing tutor. If the Tutor is not a good fit, you have the option to request another one. However, ours was amazing and a former educator.
She evaluated our child and then set up curriculum that she would be using. That of course adjusts as weaker areas become stronger and she learns more about our child. She even went so far as to coordinate with our child’s school teacher, with our permission, of course to confirm areas of focus. We can’t say enough, great things about our experience and our Tutor.
