I don't know why the prepay system for my website URL did not work. My credit card is not showing any attempts. I do not want to lose my business URL, as this is critical. For some reason my current password is not working, so I tried to reset my password. First the password reset would not even send an SMS, then the person on chat said it was my cellular company, so I called them. They could not find anything wrong. Then I tried the password reset again and they did send a SMS code however their system did not take it. I tried to call however they only accept correspondence with chatting and email. I am on the chat again. The whole system seems so glitchy.

I'm a former customer.. ********************'s choice, not mine.BUT, Dynadot REFUSES to unsubscribe me from their newsletter and updates etc.I've asked before. I'm asking again now.I WANT DYNADOT TO REMOVE MY EMAIL FROM THEIR LIST.

Hello there. Your account was still open, thus, you were receiving important account notifications related to Terms of Use updates, etc. Now that our team has closed the account per your recent request, you'll no longer receive such emails.

I am rejecting this response solely because it is inaccurate.

Dynadot unilaterally closed my account years ago, but continued sending emails.

At first, I'd ask them to either a) stop emailing, OR, b) consider re-opening. They would decline to re-open, promise to stop emailing, do so for a while, and then start again.

This cycle has repeated itself many times.

The emails had stopped for a while, then I got one, got fed up, and filed the complaint.

In response, Dynadot sent me an email saying they were closing the account, and apologizing for taking so long...

I hope this time they actually stop... but as an accredited business they should be more truthful in their response to the BBB...

    Sincerely,

    *************************

Dear Consumer complaint team,I opened an account with Dynadot 2 weeks ago. After I added money in the account and purchased 4 domains, they said that they couldn't verify me and they got the domains from my account in 2 days. According to the internet search, they are something that they are doing very often to the customers. The verification link they sent was not working. I called them and I emailed them, and they confirmed that their verification system is not working. They actually removed my own domains from my account and now they are selling them in a price 15 times more!! (I bought them 60$ and they have them on site 600$), You can see here that I am not the only one; they are doing to the customers including myself ****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** ) Despite the fact that they removed my domains and the money is in my account, I requested a refund and they denied it!I would kindly request your immediate action. How can you allow this operating in ********** and having my self as a victim? How can I get at least my money back? MY domains, which I bought for 60 dollars, are now being sold for 900 dollars. It's my own domains. The removed them from my account and are reselling them like their own properties (which are NOT - they only keep them as registrar, they shouldn't get them!!) And they deny to return my money too! Please I need your help to save my money, at least! Thank you very much

    Hi ********,

We found the account under your name and reviewed the situation.

Youre correct in that we did cancel a few orders because the verification we requested for your account was not completed. Those orders were refunded accordingly. A couple of those orders were related to domain names that you wanted to acquire through our User Auctions. This means someone already owns the domain names at Dynadot and that person was selling them through our User Auction. Since your orders were cancelled, the domains were not moved to your account to become the new owner. Best guess is the existing owner(s) decided to increase the value of the names and re-list them for sale at a higher cost. Dynadot does not take domain names from users to resell for our own portfolio. In fact, we dont have our own portfolio of names.

Your account seems to be fine now. If you want to cancel and refund the last order you submitted (prepay to add credit to your account), you can email ********************************* with your request and the team will have no problem taking care of that for you.

I am rejecting this response because:

THEY ARE COMPLETELY LIE! THEY GOT MY DOMAINS FROM MY ACCOUNT. THE DOMAINS WERE FULLY MINE, AND THIS CAN BE PROVEN BY ICANN REVIEWING. i ALSO HAVE THE PROOFS THAT I BOUGHT THE DOMAINS AND THE DOMAINS WERE COMPLETELY MINE. LAST, I ALSO CHANGED THE ************. THEY ARE DOING THIS OFTEN ACCORDING TO THE COMPLAINTS HERE.

i AM NOT STOPPING ASKING FOR THE ***** TO BE IN THE LIGHT! DYNADOT REMOVED MY OWN DOMAINS AND THEY ARE SELLING THEM MUCH HIGHER NOW.

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR LEGAL ACTION.

    THANK YOU

    Sincerely,

    Let us clarify.

Assuming we're talking about the same account, the domain names in question are related to the 3 User Auctions that you won. When domains are won in auction, they are moved to the winner's account (you're right about this and apologize for the confusion on this part) and would normally remain there provided the account was in good standing and required no additional action. In this case, our verification team required the orders and/or payments to be verified. Since the verification wasn't successfully completed, the orders were then cancelled and refunded back to the original payment method (in this case, your account balance which is what was used to pay for the orders). As a result of the User Auction orders being cancelled, the domains were also cancelled and removed from the account.

When User Auctions orders are cancelled, the domain names are returned to the original owners. It's up to them at that point to re-list their domains in the User Auction or list them for sale in a different way at whatever price they desire.

As for the 3 prepay orders you created, 2 of them were fully refunded back to the original payment method. One prepay order wasn't refunded because most of the account balance was used to pay for another order in your account, which is an Expired Auction order. That domain name is still active in your account and you can access it whenever you sign in.

Now that you've successfully verified your account, you should be all set for any additional orders you make should you decide to do so.

BBB is unable to locate the business.
Do not search your domains here, do not attempt to register, and do not even allow your cookies to connect to this vendor; there are far superior businesses with a strong moral compass, response time, patience, and a commitment to fairness. This business is infested with squatters, they support squatters, and they have no interest in rectifying the problem, as evidenced by the numerous complaints posted on BBB.org. A simple search will reveal that squatting is a form of abuse. BEWARE if you are new to acquiring a domain: "squatting is the practice of registering, trading in, or using an Internet domain name with the intent to profit from the goodwill of another's trademark."On the DynaDot website, they state: "Dynadot takes all abuse complaints seriously, and we will make every effort to investigate each complaint submitted to us. Due to the volume of complaints, we may only respond back if we require more information from you.Upon receiving a valid and complete complaint, an investigation will be opened and tracked by Dynadot's customer service representatives and, if necessary, action shall be taken against the account perpetuating the abuse."This is not true, as I have previously reached out to the parties involved. The "owner" of the website for my trademarked and LLC-owned company attempted to sell me the domain for nearly $1,000! They have never used the domain and are only attempting to profit from it. Like most people, you conduct research prior to purchasing a domain. Similar to another complaint, I was just about to make a purchase on my namesake-LLC-trademark when 'someone' else registered the name that I had looked at intermittently for a few months prior to attempting to register it and it was immediately purchased! Clearly, someone is aware of a trick that informs them whenpeopleare about to make their final purchase before snagging. I would not be surprised if they created a bot to accomplish this. This is a warning to everyone.

We understand your frustration, but we want to clarify that Dynadot does not operate a bot to steal domain names nor do we practice domain squatting. We also do not encourage this behavior. If a specific domain name is infringing on your trademark, we highly encourage you look into the Uniform Domain Name Resolution Policy (UDRP) set forth by ICANN as we are unable to determine who should legally own a domain name. From ICANN's website:

"All registrars must follow the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (often referred to as the ******** Under the policy, most types of trademark-based domain-name disputes must be resolved by agreement, court action, or arbitration before a registrar will cancel, suspend, or transfer a domain name. Disputes alleged to arise from abusive registrations of domain names (for example, cybersquatting) may be addressed by expedited administrative proceedings that the holder of trademark rights initiates by filing a complaint with an approved dispute-resolution service provider.

To invoke the policy, a trademark owner should either (a) file a complaint in a court of proper jurisdiction against the domain-name holder (or where appropriate an in-rem action concerning the domain name) or (b) in cases of abusive registration submit a complaint to an approved dispute-resolution service provider..."

We know this might not be the answer you were looking for, but we hope this information helps point you in the right direction to resolve the trademark issue.

I am rejecting this response because: DynaDot has neither examined the registrant nor investigated my complaints. Please review their other testimonials; my claim is not implausible. It would cost more than $1300 to pursue this matter with ICANN, the same amount that the cybersquatter is holding the domain hostage for. DynaDot *may not* participate in the alleged schemes, but they seemingly appear to be compliant to them.

I have been trying to get access to my domain for a couple months now and was told today that it was transferred to Dynadot to manage. When I contacted them today they said my domain was already registered under a different user. How is it possible that I cant even get access to my own domain but someone else is able to just take it over? That doesnt make sense! They also said Im not anDynadot user so they cant help me further. As per their initial reply to me, they said my account was recently registered with Dynadot, so if its registered under Dynadot, how am I not a user? I was not even informed that the domains registrar had been transferred nor that it was open for the public to purchase!
