I ordered two lamps from TheLightShop.com on 11/3/2023 and 11/6/2023, for $242.76 and $134.39, respectively. Both lamps were listed as out of stock at the time, but were expected back in stock in December 2023. I did not receive the lamps and eventually contacted TheLightShop.com by phone and email on 1/11-13/2024. After having to follow up with TheLightShop.com several times to get a response, I was told on 1/13/24: "Hi *****-thanks for the Calls and emails! Our apologies for the delayed response. We reached out to the Mfr on Friday-we expect a response on Monday form them. Let us check into this and get back to you Monday with an update-we greatly appreciate your cooperation and patience! ***********************, Owner" I replied on 1/13/2024: "I am OK to wait to get a resolution by Monday, but if it cannot get done by then, I would like to cancel the order and get a refund." I separately confirmed with the manufacturer that they had stock of both lamps beginning in December, and that both lamps were fully available, but that they had not yet received purchase orders from TheLightShop.com. After additional repeated requests for updates from TheLightShop.com, I wrote them on 1/25/2024: "Hi **** -- One week has gone by since the last upadate from your end, and I still do not have the lights that I ordered in Novemeber. Please cancel my orders refund the money to my credit card today." I followed up on 1/27/2024: "Hi **** -- I have not heard back from you since my email to you, below, on Thursday, asking that you cancel my orders and provide a refund. Could you please reply and confirm that this will be done today?" TheLightShop.com responded on 1/30/2024 that their email systems crashed and they would respond to my emails by 1/31/2024. No response has been received, and on 2/1/2024 I wrote: "Cancel my orders and refund my money immediately so that I can purchase these lamps from a reputable vendor." On March 28, 2023 I ordered a light fixture for $651.20 and AFTER I placed the order I was *********** was backordered until August 2023. I cancelled the order about 2 months later, however, The Lightshop.com never refunded the amount. In September I tried calling the phone number on their website, but it is monitored by an ***************** and no one ever returned our calls. I was able reach someone via email in November and after several exchanges they said they would issue a refund check. As of January 3, ****, we still do not have our refund check and now they do not respond to emails (reference attached emails).After reading several other reviews of this company, the similarities to my experience are deeply concerning. It would appear The Lightshop.com is engaging in the fraudulent practice of charging credit cards, then backordering for 4-5 months and never shipping or refunding money.Customer Answer

On 3/17/23, I ordered 2 pendant lights from thelightshop.com. The total paid for both lights was $294.40. When I purchased them, they did not indicate that they were a pre-order. On 4/11/23, they responded to an email following up on my order to tell me that the items were pre-order and wouldn't be available until June. On 6/28/23, I requested the order be cancelled and asked for a refund. I sent follow up emails requesting a refund be sent on 7/5/2023, 8/16/2023, 9/14/2023, 10/6/2023, 10/20/2023, 11/8/2023, and 12/7/2023. Many of these times, The Light Shop indicated that they were going to send a refund, but they have not followed through. Copies of our email chain are attached here. We purchased a light in February 2023 and then told it was back ordered. We have contacted them multiple times since then asking to cancel the order and refund our money. They say they will but have not. As of June 15th, weve still not received a refund. Theyve stolen $105 from us.Initial Complaint

Made a purchase from The Light Shop (www.thelightshop.com) online on Feb 02, 2023. The company stated that the light fixture was on back order and through multiple notes (7) it was advised that they were on backorder and I subsequently canceled my order on April 4. I have sent multiple notes and called and left multiple messages with no refund on items that were ordered but never received.I paid $441.60 for an item that I never received and I want a refund.I also want this fraudulent business to be known by others so they do not continue to have the opportunity to steal money from others.Initial Complaint

Ordered light fixtures on 3/30/2023, credit card transaction $195.30 charged 4/1. On 4/8/2023 I asked that my order be canceled and that a refund be issued. Since then, they keep saying they will cancel the order and will have an update tomorrow. The last email from them on 4/20 said they will cancel the order asap, but they have told me numerous times that it will be canceled and I still dont have my money back. This site wasnt allowing me to upload screenshots of the correspondence, but they have our emails on record and can look them up themselves.Business Response

I ordered a light fixture two months ago. My credit card was charged immediately. The light fixture was never shipped. I asked for an update and was told it was back ordered for an additional 3 months. I asked for a refund and the company stalled. I continue to ask for a refund and somehow they charged me, have not provided the merchandise, and continue to keep my money.Business Response

On 7/17/22 I placed an order with the light shop for a light fixture with a price of $508.80 to which I received an order confirmation #*****. My husband and I have called customer service 4 times since the order asking for ETA only to be forwarded an email with a date of September 2021 (14 months prior to our order) that they are delayed due to covid. We have asked to speak with a supervisor and received a return call today from a man I believe his Name is ****, my husband explained that he has asked multiple times for tracking info and a refund and was denied and we are filing fraud with our bank. **** proceeded to tell my husband to F off. We have since researched online that this company is known for not fulfilling orders and not providing refunds of your purchase. In essence fraudulent behavior impacting consumers.
