*************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** As seen by this article Intel is falsely advertising its **** I have a purchase with the receipts and would like a refund as the **** are not working properly. All the "fixes" just caused the **** to not run at the advertised rates. This is similar to buy a sports car but not having the horsepower advertised. Let it be known a computer such as the ram motherboard and CPU are bought together. Intel motherboards are only compatible for specific Intel **** and ram is usually only rated for either Intel or ***. This intel should actually be wholly responsible for the entire three parts as they had falsely advertised their **** to begin with. A quick ****** search of Intel CPU problems will show a timeline from the beginning of the year until now.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:You cannot warranty false advertisement and defective parts that are made from the factory as defective. The chips are defective from the factory, do not perform as such, and is openly admitted in public articles as previously stated. The only remedy for this is a full refund.

Last year I purchased a prebuilt computer with an Intel Processing Chip. Sadly, this chip was part of a known issue that caused permanent damage to the chip. I filled out an *** request through Intel and was provided with a check list of things to try before they could refund/replace the damaged chip. In my ticket, I explained that I purchased the computer through a 3rd party retailer called NZXT, but Intel still asked me to proceed with the claim. Part of the *** process was to disassemble parts of my computer to get a number off the chip, as well as trying out a replacement chip to see if it fixed the problem. I followed all their steps, including buying a new chip for almost $500.00, just to be told that I needed to go through NZXT and Intel could not help me. However, because Intel advised me to make changes to the hardware of my PC, that voided my PC's warranty. Now I'm in a situation where Intel is saying they cannot help and **** is saying they cannot help me. Had Intel paid attention to my original message saying that I purchased the computer via 3rd party, and stopped the claim before having me waste time, money, and voiding my warranty I would not be in this situation.Business Response

RP requested assistance with a pre-built Intel Core processor based computer system. Our team spent time working with the RP to root cause the problem, and to potentially replace the processor if covered under warranty. To determine if the processor is covered under warranty it is necessary to obtain the **** (processor's serial number) ***as some pre-built computer systems use Intel Boxed processors.*** RP did not mention their concern about voiding manufacturer warranty on their pre-built system, for if they had mentioned their concern the direction is to have RP contact their system manufacturer for assistance.
RP states they followed steps "including buying a new chip for almost $500.00..." The question was asked of the RP if they were able to perform a swap test, which is not a recommendation to purchase another processor.
The RP's case has been closed as the processor warranty is for one year through the system manufacturer.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I included in my original message that this was a **** build. If there was a possibility of voiding a warranty, or a potential that Intel would not cover the warranty, it should had been disclosed in the initial reply from intel. However, instead of advising that some prebuilds are not covered, I was given a list of questions and steps to try. This included the question of "Have you tried swapping the ***** It's not common for most people to have spare ***'s laying around to test, especially considering each motherboard has a limited socket type. So how else would someone try swapping the *** if not buying a replacement that matches the one having the issue? It makes no sense to say that this was not a recommendation to buy and test a replacement to help narrow down the issue.
The entire process was misleading, and not transparent on what was expected or the possible outcomes of potentially voiding a warranty, or the possibility that Intel would not cover the warranty claim because of it being in a prebuilt PC. Which again, was the first thing I disclosed when reaching out for help. I believe Intel should take ownership of the lack of communication on their part and at the very least provide a refund for the replacement part I purchased.
Sincerely,
**** *******Business Response

In september of 2024 i sent a defective processor purchased new from best buy to intel for a warranty repair. intel accepted my processor for repair and for almost 2 months after continually stonewalled me on the status of repair. on 11/7 intel emailed me a letter stating that my processor was remarked or in otherwords, fake or modified. the processor was purchased new in box and off the shelf at best buy and the ** on the receipt matches the one shipped to intel (also matches the ** on the letter intel sent) INTEL immediately closed my case and refused to ship the defective process back to me. in addtion, due to the time intel held my processor my ability to return via best buy was eliminated due to the excessive time they took with my RMA. i want INTEL to either ship me a new processor or return the money i spent with my processor. i'm attaching the receipt from best buy as well as the letter intel sent me. I suspect INTEL did this to avoid coverage under their warranty.Business Response

The situation being faced by the RP is an industry-observed issue in retail, not focused
on Intel products but on all manufactured products. Searching the internet
provides many examples where customers at retail locations open seemingly
untouched packages only to find a missing or unexpected item. Our packaging
technologies, although robust, are not immune from such attacks.
The part we received from the RP was not a processor that was produced in one of our factories, which was evident by the markings on the part. The part we received holds no warranty and also violates our trademarks.
We continue to work with retailers in an effort to combat the retail fraud they face.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:this is an unacceptable excuse basically leaving the consumer at risk and left holding the bag. The average consumer has no way of knowing if its a legit product or not, assuming the serial numbers match the box and part, it should be enough
assumjng intel is really standing by this inane response why would anyone buy a product at an authorized retailer if such a risk is possible and they will be left with an inoperable product and no recourse for refund or repair? I cannot believe someone wrote this response with a straight face
To boot: intel has destroyed my product making it impossible to obtain another objective examination if the product. There are several examples of intel doing this same thing on the internet, Ive received comments from no less than 50 persons. Some had their issues corrected after having someone else inspect their processor after the fact (I.e. intel returned their part.
Its obvious intel is doing this to avoid repairing or refunding their defective processors which is all over the news. I want my processor cost refunded and I will let this remark stay on their BBB profile but at this point its obvious in the ************ less and less people are trusting their products.
Sincerely,
****** *****Business Response

I bought a CPU from a licensed retailer (******) who wont refund my cpu it arrived dead on arrival and was told to reach out to intel for support. I started the *** showed all the pictures and details to the two reps that contacted me and was told that they would honor the ***. Got an email back saying they would no longer honor the rma because it was ( remarked) and that they would be keeping it and destroying it. So now ****** wont refund me even though i was sold a faulty or fake cpu and intel wont warranty it even though i provided all proof and information of purchase and was assured it could be handled. They wont even ship it back so i cant even use it against amazon now. Effectively s******* me over in the process. So now i have to seek legal action against both amazon and intel for this.Business Response

I have submitted a replacement request for my I9-14900kf and have received no response from the company about my case. I purchased an Intel Core i9 processor *****K in February of 2023. Intel has a well documented issue with these processors. I have filed all the proper paperwork and exhausted all troubleshooting. Intel responded one time to my request and and since gone silent. I use my computer for work and because of their faulty processor I'm unable to work. I would like them to replace my processor with one that actually works but I can't even get them to respond to me. My case sits "open" on their service request site and every attempt to contact them by me goes unanswered. Support Request ********Business Response

I purchased an Intel CPU (*****k) on July 4, 2024 from ******. I immediately started having ** power-off automatically and system crashes and read there was a known issue and Intel was working on it.
