  I regret ever purchasing 23andMe. The entire process was frustrating from start to finish. First, it took four weeks just to receive my resultsway longer than expected. Then, when I finally logged in, I realized that 90% of the features were locked behind a paywall, requiring an upgrade to their so-called premium service.Heres the kicker: they advertise it as a monthly service fee, but in reality, they force you to pay for an entire year upfronta classic bait-and-switch tactic. Against my better judgment, I upgraded, only to find out that the premium service is absolutely worthless. Theres nothing new or insightful, just fluff thats not remotely worth the price.When I tried to cancel and get a refund for the 11 months I wouldnt be using, I had to go through a painful customer service experience with someone who barely spoke English. After struggling to communicate, I was finally told that they do NOT offer refundsever. So basically, 23andMe will happily take your money and give you nothing in *********** yourself the frustration and go with literally any other service, like AncestryDNA. 23andMe is a scam, their premium service is garbage, and their customer service is nonexistent. Avoid at all costs.

  They billed me for a year membership to include health information. This was false advertisement and information provided that the premium membership included health and no where did it indicate the health was an extra charge. I want a refund and cancel membership. I spoke to 23andme on the phone, not in this country, and they informed me they would cancel the membership to include a refund. I received a follow up email from 23andme and they stated they would not provide a refund. I went back and forth with emails and was denied what they promised,

  I mailed an empty kit back and got results!! How is that even possible? Apparently the neighborhood dog is a long lost family member. This place is a joke and a scam!!

  Your website stated, "Your results are pending.We're still analyzing your DNA." The website also stated that results could take up to 6 weeks to be analyzed and posted. I waited over 16 weeks with no answers or results. Upon further investigation, I discovered that 23AndMe had not even received my sample and had failed to inform me of that fact. This blatant contradiction is at best, incompetence, at worst, outright fraud. I was offered nothing except a hollow apology and a free replacement kit (and along with that, another 6-week waiting period. I was offered no discount, no complementary upgraded report, no anything. No wonder your reputation is falling as fast as your stock.

  Although the report was interesting in the beginning, nothing new in the 6 or 7 years since. The information I expected to receive is only available with high additional fees. I haven't been able to login to my account for several months. ************* asks the same questions, I answer. Their response is, we need your response to continue to help. I have responded 3 times. Total waste of money and time for ongoing information.

  They are supposed to connect me with relatives. Someone tried to contact me in my own city and I was not able to connect with them. I went through all kinds of hoops and still was not able to connect. What is the point of all of this if you cant connect with nearby relatives?

  This company is a complete and utter scam. They advertised that they showed Native American Ancestry, and yet when I got my results back they showed absolutely no Native American ancestry anywhere in my DNA. This is despite the fact that both of my parents are mostly Native American, and have family that were born and raised on reservations. I could pull up my family tree and history to prove it, but that's neither here nor there. Genetically I can be more European than one(1) parent, given the other parent's DNA, but scientifically I cannot be more European than both parents combined. There's not enough genetic material to make up for it. When I reached out about this, they both went back on their previous advertisements and kept talking in circles, giving me non-responses. They refused to give my money back, or remedy the situation as I felt scammed by that advertisement. I would highly recommend using a different company.

  There needs to be a NEGATIVE Star option. This by far is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. THEY ****. Got my kit, sent my sample in. Got email that I was ready to go. Setup account. Tried to save info. Site just spins and spins and spins again. Seriously, I walked away for 2.5 hours and the SOB was still spinning. One time was not enough so I tried 2 other times. Yep, verified it was hosed. Then, LUCKY ME, calls the customer service "we's gots attitudes and are rude, so don't bother us" phone #. The little s*** I had the opportunity to speak with was the rudest human being I have ever spoken with. Worked on Outsourcing accounts for many years. 23andme is by far is the worst CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I have ever had. The company should be embarrassed by this c*** I've have NEVER HAD a representative YELL at me implying I am a moron. I was screamed at for 25 seconds. Was told I didn't read my email. Why I tolerated it? I wanted to see how far this jackass would go. At no time did I yell back or treat him the way I was treated until.... I am out $$, I have no DNA records to review, aggravated, and realized this is company is a scam. Oh yeah....at the end I told this *** he was a complete D__K and maybe he was having a bad day. If that was the case the *** should have called out sick. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR and a LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

  They billed me for a year membership to include health information. This was false advertisement and information as it implied it would be accurate and several areas of health would be covered. I have several of the disorders or characteristics they state I shouldn't, there was only a couple of important health diagnoses listed. The rest was not even healthy related or important, like "flush" syndrome. Money was taken out on 11/18. I reviewed the results on 11/19 and canceled within 24 hours. I am not allowed a refund due to their policy. If someone agrees to a contract or a purchase it should accurately reflect the good your receiving. They did not do this. I will continue to follow up on this and not stop until a proper refund is issued. Im not asking for a reimbursement for the ancestry or plus health traits I ordered as it provided expected results and was clear on what it was providing. The membership was not. I will not utilize it and again will continue to pursue this. Don't waste your time or money on the yearly membership upgrade.

  i think you are a horrible institution,i sort your company cause i was being deported.and had no race on birth certificate, so I purchased the kit in 2017 December. I was told i was mt dna,sub saharan african 86% ,2%Neanderthal, u9 clade,ancient lines, haplogroup was L3e2b1a but no matches on 23 and me,to this day you still havent match me to any group you said i have,but on your health said you said i am European, on anstry side all black people you can not find now you blcked me from my info,and asked me to buy another kit.while i am still waiting for result for the 1st kit,.because you ********** say you are just for fun.nowhere on your box says just for fun.
