Do not use Stripe, I unfortunately had to use them because of the estimating app I use. But they are holding over $1500 of my money in some reserve for possible disputes and charge backs. After a "investigation" I was considered "at risk". I've never had and disputes or chargebacks and I have 2 Stripe accounts in which one of them, they let me have 2 capital loans and I paid the first off but still paying on the second. But that's not the account in question I this complaint. So, this account I'm getting screwed on is attached to an online business banking account that I want to close,so I contacted Stripe to see if can close that account and get my money out of their "reserve" and they said no,I had to wait the 60 or 90 days or whatever that they hold the reserve for. So I got upset and expressed my concern that they had no right to hold my money in first place because I never agreed to any reserve account nor did they have any reasons found in their investigation as far as disputes or chargebacks on either of my accounts. So after that conversation about 2 days later I get a email from Stripe saying after further investigation, my business is considered "high risk" now for disputes and chargebacks and that they were going to hold in reserve 25% of each transaction versus the 10% before from the original investigation. And I've had no disputes or chargebacks EVER. So after a heated conversation on how I think they are stealing from me,is I guess grounds to make my business from "at risk" to "high risk"? Just straight up theives that nobody is doing anything to stop them from destroying American small businesses. I want my money that I PHYSICALLY worked hard for!

Dont use this credit card payment processor. All they do is withhold your money you make from sales. You send all the information they request and they still withhold. Right now I just want my money sitting my account so I can close it!!!

used stripe to try and cut down transaction fees. initial transaction was over $3k which is typical for my company. without warning or notice to my knowledge funds are to be held for a week. spoke with the support staff that was not helpful in the slightest. got sent to a few different people put on hold multiple times for what should be simple information. Was told there is no way to expedite, that the processing fee will not be returned and there is a $95 fee for the return. so in theory ill be $350 in on trying out a new company. I would not recommend stripe to anyone. no warning on policy, lacking trained customer support, and the company wont budge on anything to help you out.

Absolutely ridiculous payment platform they took a unauthorized climate change charge of $7.50 to help climate change without asking and said I had to wait 7 days for my first payment so I refunded the customer right away but then they said they can't refund the customer due to me having a negative account balance so I have to deposit $43.80 into my stripe account out of my personal account to be able to send a refund to the customer to get paid a different way and to top that off it take 1 to 5 days for my deposit to go through this is such a process of fuckery that is completely and utterly unnecessary scam scam scam scam I would love to meet the CEO of this company face to face to offer him something he's got coming from alot of business owners it looks and sounds like

They are actually legal scammers, un-fortunately they dont reply to your emails and calls, they will keep hold of your money, then they will suspend and say we will pay you back after 180 days, but they never do that, we ar ***************** have been scammed by stripe and i am sure, they have a team who calls on your data which you process on their gateway and then they ask them to dispute and charge them somewere else, they are scammers

Stripe is holding 10% of payment owed to the business hostage for "security" reasons that they won't explain. It's very difficult to get hold of anyone to actually help you... I highly recommend NOT doing business with Stripe

Stripe is 100 percent a scam, they should be shut down. After conveniently successfully processing almost 70 thousand dollars from our client, they then flagged our business, after this it was impossible to refund the funds to our client nor access them ourselves.Nobody has answered any request for the funds to returned to the client and they continue to avoid responding to anything else.I understand if we fall under a category of business they do not work with, however taking funds from an innocent client and then essentially stealing the money is insane. We will be pressing legal charges.

Stripe is a very clever scam. They pull this off by first and foremost allowing payments to be received for a number of months and then finding a reason to stop payments the moment your business starts to gain momentum. Ive read review after review and I first hand am a victim myself. I was told my payments were paused because I no longer had a website. After explaining to them my business, my product, and verifying other information I received a email stating I would be exempt from the website requirement. My customers come through word of mouth because we do great work. Furthermore, after a few days my payouts were paused again for the same issue, and the same request were made which I then shared with them I had already provided. They apologized and stated they would remove the website requirement as a whole to prevent red flagging. Fast forward to my very next payment made they charged my client $1,300 dollars to process the transaction! And guess what? They held my money for again the website! Haha cant make this up. So I explained everything, they apologized and said my funds would be available on March 11th. On March 11th they emailed saying once again payments were paused, but this time because of a payment descriptor, which is how I want my business info to show on my clients card. So easy enough, I go in and modify what WAS ALREADY IN PLACE, and low and behold it continues to state its incorrect, and wont let me proceed. Not to mention because they never actually removed the website requirement I was forced to put in my business partners URL just to progress past the page. So I ask them to just process a refund and sure enough they did provide that with my client. Days later, stripe removed $500 dollars out of my actual business checking account without my permission and no reason as to why. NOTE: I did not owe anything, my account had a zero balance. I assume its a charge for the refund. But they had every *****! Because I never received anything!

Reading the most recent reviews I'm starting to think something suspicious is going on and Stripe needs to be investigated. They are literally stealing money and I smell a class action law suit coming. They withheld payment from my customer when I had been receiving payment from them for over a year. Then they suspended my account and DID NOT refund the money or allow me withdraw. I've emailed multiple times even left a voicemail and guess what? I got a phone call that rang ONCE and hung up. I'm guessing it's so the *** can show they actually called me. Literally did not even have enough time to pick up the call. Called back and what a surprise it does not take inbound calls. This is the most ridiculous and unprofessional company ever
