I received a call from a sales *** at Data Direct in late April 2025. I told her we didnt need toner because we already have a supplier. She insisted it was a free sample and said if we didnt want it, we could return it at no cost. I agreed under those terms.The toner arrived the last week of April. I have not opened it or used ********, I received an invoice for $199.Ive called five times using the phone numbers on the invoice both go straight to voicemail. I also sent an email and have received no response.This is very frustrating. I did not agree to purchase anything. I was told it was free and returnable. I want to return this toner, I want the invoice canceled, and I dont want anything else sent to me or my business again thank you.Business Response

After review of this complaint I have instructed my shipping department to issue a *** return label to the ********************** for any unwanted merchandise to be returned to our warehouse without any charge to
the customer. Based on our sales agent's statement, there was a mutual agreement. We have since canceled the invoice (*****) and will delete all company information from our sales base.

Sometime back in August of 2024, company sends us some toner telling us it's a trial for us to use and if we like them we can purchase at a later date. We receive them and use them, got an invoice 2 weeks later for around $250, we paid the invoice thinking that was that. A month later, I get shipment of 5 toner cartridges out of the blue. I call the company and speak with **** and he says it's the remainder of the previous order. So I thought that was that. I get another invoice in October for $998 and my accounting department paid it without a thought (probably thinking it was a standard monthly invoice for something else). Now I keep getting boxes of toner. I call **** and ask what's going on and he tells me it's because I paid the $998 invoice. I tell him to stop sending us invoices and toners and that we are not doing business with them again. He never sent me any prior notification that toners or invoices were coming my way or any proof that I authorized any orders. It is now 1/6/2025 and I get even more boxes of toners and my accounting department gets 5 invoices totaling $1900 each. We contact **** and he says that I authorized it and that we've been doing business for a year already. Again I ask for proof and he doesn't give an answer and just hangs up. I've called multiple times and I cannot get to ****. He's always conveniently out of the office or say he will call me back. ***** doing business with this company at all costs. They have terrible communication and will ship/invoice you without your knowledge or approval.Initial Complaint

Company called offering gift card as apology for price increases. We chose to accept said gift card. They asked if we needed any toner cartridges and we declined as we have contract with different company that handles our toner needs. They send toner anyways with invoice. I've called and spoken with someone who said they would email me the return authorization form. I have never received this email. I've called several times, left messages asking for a call back to discuss. No return calls have been received. I've emailed the email on the invoice ************************************* and have not received a response whatsoever. We did not approve the toner cartridge to be sent. We declined it with valid reason and it was still sent with an invoice in the amount of $199. We NEED TO RETURN this item.Business Response

I received a call from Data direct systems inc. a few weeks ago asking if we wanted to sample their product line of toner cartridges. they stated the they would send out a sample and if we didn't like it we could send it back. we received it and it was what we were looking for so we paid the first invoice for $245. A few weeks later I received another call saying they were gonna send a gift card for getting the refill cartridges. I received 2 more cartridges than an invoice for $998. I now realize they try to bribe you with a gift card then send out additional product you don't need an a invoice for a ridiculous amount. I called and asked to return the product and they give you the run around. we don't need this new order i'm trying to send it back I don't want to pay almost a thousand dollars for 2 in cartridges.Initial Complaint

A *** from this business contacted me in regard to printer ink/toner saying that they would like me to try one for free and would even throw in a gift card. After receiving the toner, we received another call about ordering 3 more which I declined. We then received an invoice for the first toner received as well as 4 additional cartridges which were never ordered or received, not to mention the extreme pricing the invoice listed. They again called to inquire about us paying the invoice to which I informed him I had never placed an order or received one. I then received a box of cartridges that had the shipping date after I had spoken with the *** again. I have called and asked for a shipping address to return the cartridges and was told that I would be contacted with information for a shipping label - rather than being able to give me an address then and have yet to receive a call back.Business Response

I received a call from someone in sales trying to sell toner cartridges. I let him know that we didn't need any cartridges, but he insisted on giving me a free sample to let him know if I thought that they were good quality that I could then buy from them. He proceeded to send me a toner cartridge and an invoice later for a price that is too much for what we got. When I called to get them to called to fix this issue, I just get a voicemail, and they never return a call. I would like to send back the cartridge I got, so I don't have to pay any invoice that was sent on a free product.Business Response

I got a call from Data Direct offering a free ink cartilage and was told no pressure to buy, we could try it for free and no pressure after that. Why did I receive an invoice today for $200 when Ive been in direct contact with 2 different employees from Data Direct who told me the cartridges were free. I am sending them back and will continue to find ways to bad mouth them. Thats not good service to offer free stuff to send an invoice!Business Response

Like many of the other reviews. This company reached out about a free toner. I declined several times, and the gentleman on the phone was very pushy, insisting, it was free, he'd send it out anyway. I have since received several invoices, and been hounded on the phone for payment for a "free" toner. It is absolutely deplorable way, to try and gain business.Business Response

Constantly calling and leaving 2 second voicemails for months and will not stop. I have picked up a few times and asked them to stop calling. If this continues I will consider it harassment.Business Response

Our sales department consists of a large telemarketing crew. It is possible that a rogue telemarketer may have called the telephone number several times for reasons unknown. That ***** of telemarketer has since

They reached out offering free ink, stating they would check in on the quality of the product. They never reached out and sent an invoice and immediately started HOUDNING me to pay. They then sent another invoice, stating the "purchase" (which remember, was a free trial) was for a FULL CASE of ink, when the first were supposed to be a trial. They were misleading from the jump and would not stop calling. I will be returning the *** ASAP to the address on the invoice and asking that they stop all communication with our workplace. Being deceitful is no way to gain business. If they can provide me with a return label as well as cancel this invoice AND never contact my office again, I will let it go, if not then the next step is turning this over to someone who is more knowledgeable of the law to handle this. It is sad as it seems that a lot of people have this same issue. I am sending the ink back to the address listed and if they charge me for the ink I will refuse to pay.Business Response

Data direct systems, **** has concerns regarding the accuracy of the ***** MFC, *** complaint, however our shipping department has since emailed *** return labels for any item
that are defective or unwanted by the company. Our sales department has deleted Apian MFC company from their sales database and will no longer have relations with the company.
