    hired *** and Associates to obtain a workers compensation policy for my construction company . We had used then for a couple years but the last policy they obtained for ** from BirkleyNet had a high wage requirement in it , We were not aware what this requirement was since we had given our current payroll report to *** and associates from ADP to obtain quotes . The policy was $15,000 for 4 employees for the year . after the policy term ended we were presented with a renewal for the same policy with BirkleyNet we again accepted the policy . 8 months after our first policy ended BirkleyNet completed an audit and presented us with an additional premium for $18,000 . This was because they said their policy required our employees to be paid $40.00 per hour and we paid $35.00 . This was not presented to us by *** and associates and they did not seem to know and care about it . They said we had to deal with the insurance company directly . This is why I hired a licensed Insurance broker to represent us in obtaining insurance . Their excuse was they never used this insurance company before . Thats not an excuse as I am being required to pay $68,000 for a workers compensation policy that was originally quoted to be $30,000.00.

    10/25/2023 - I have spoken to the insured and I am reaching out to the Carrier to discover what options are available.   I expect to have some sort of resolution in the next 10 days and will communicate that to the insured.
