Received service on 3/23/25 and 3/24/25 and was told verbally the 3/24/25 issue would be under warranty. I was charged & paid $180.25 & $715.85 (Total $896.10) on 3/23/25 for the same-day blocked pipe service. Then charged & paid $1,545 on 3/24/25 for the blocked pipe service, when verbally told "its under contract'. I only received one invoice for 3/24/25 service along with a signed contract (which I did not sign) showing details that I can dispute the charges within 3 business days. I sent an email on 3/24/25, 3/24/25 and 3/26/25 asking about the payment, **************** card fee and if I could change the payment type. NO RESPONSE. Attached are the emails, and screen shots of an estimates/billing, and the one invoice. I believe the amount paid should be considered as the work was not completed from the first visit, and verbal communication of the 'warranty' for the second service. As mentioned in the invoice:"You may cancel this transaction without any penalty or obligation within three business days from the above date. If you cancel, , any property trade it in any payments made by you under the contract or sale and any negotiable instrument, executed by you will be returned within 10 days, following the receipt for the seller of your cancellation notice and any security interest arising out of the transaction will be canceled.Plumbers involved: ********** Rooter: ************ (verbally mentioned "under contract")Business Response

First of all when your pipes backed up the next day we did come out and told you like we explained the first day we were there that your pipe need more attention and need a picote cleaning all explained the first time we were there we did tell you that we would open line again at no charge or we could go right for the recommendation we gave you the day before you said to do it let's get it done another thing your quoting in our contract that you have 3 days to cancel your correct in ***************; you do have 3 day but not after the job have been done. Does that even sound realistic no I think the problem hear is you are not the owner because you said at the time of service the owners were out of the country buy the way that was me. And I all ready new that because I no the owners been working on that property a very long time like 25 30 years so we don't do any work with out the owners or there representative like most owners at the lake have so maybe you need to have a honest conversation with the owners and tell them what really was said and agreed to the bill stays along with the property lien contractors have to protect them selfs. Iam sure you understandInitial Complaint

Dispatcher is downright abusive to customers, and despite my complaint to the technician and two emails reaching out requesting communication from a supervisor I have gotten no response. Technician wasn't considerate of the home or the inhabitants, (turned off the water without giving a heads up, wouldn't move what he needed inside so we could close the garage, ripped down construction plastic instead of masking it out of the way, left gates and doors open, didn't put things he used back where he got them from, damaged the new water heater pan when installing it because he couldn't lift it properly by himself, seated it too close to the pan edge on one side, and he left a mess in the driveway. Deceptive billing practices: Emergency call the show up fee of $175 is collected before they come;Upon arrival an additional $289 required for them to diagnose the issue. They should be up front that the fee for an emergency is baseline $464. Estimate $3300 collected $2200 to schedule the job, the remainder (less the diagnostic fee is due upon completion. I was forced to pay before the job was complete, without seeing an invoice. I was told that a second technician had to come out to check the work before operating the water heater and that he would not come until payment was made. A non-operational unit that has not been appropriately checked is NOT a completed job. In fact the job wasn't completed properly by the first technician, the second technician found leaks that had to be fixed and the first technician had installed a CO2 detector improperly (way too close to the water heater). They charged me $1100 and did not credit the $289 as promised. Additionally charged me a permit fee but then tacked on (without telling me) an additional $322 beyond the permit cost for attending the inspection (should be included in the job) There are different "Rooter Man" or "A Rooter Man" bills, license says ************ ****** number is Reno and billing PO Box is Truckee.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I find the companys response once again misleading. They act as though they made several attempts to contact me, to my knowledge they did not.
I received a single voicemail with no callback number this is Rooterman plumbing please call us back is all the message said. There was no indication it was a supervisor or that they were calling to address the complaint and because of the abuse I suffered the last time I attempted to contact them by phone I was too scared to call them back..
Showing up at my residence is not an appropriate or effective way to respond to this issue. I have no way of knowing if they showed up at my house to contact me, and due to the nature of my complaint this feels inappropriate and intimidating, bordering on threatening. Please do not come to my home ever again. Because of the treatment I received I am not comfortable dealing with this company in person or over the phone. The heart of this complaint is two-fold one that I was verbally abused by an employee and two that there were multiple misleading statements regarding what the company would do and how much it would cost. This is why I am requesting a response in writing and requested compensation for another plumber to come and check their work and make repairs including fixing the placement and replacing the pan. Because of the actions of this companys employees they will not be entering my home again for any reason and should not show up at my home in the future
They claim that they also attempted to contact me via email, as far as I can see that is not true. There have not been any email responses in my mailbox I searched my email history to see if there was a response to any of my messages or any new communication from them, there is nothing. I also checked to see if perhaps it went to spam and it did not. If they attempted to contact me via email perhaps they provide screenshots to prove that this is not simply another lie? If I can see what their response is to this issue that will allow me to respond.
Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:
This is not a response to the complaint. I made it clear I do not feel comfortable allowing this company back into my home based on the treatment I received by the dispatcher, and because of the numerous misrepresented costs. I asked for compensation for poorly executed work, the cost of the damaged pan as well as the overcharge for the permit cost and the additional service fee that was to be applied towards toward the replacement.
They have made no effort to even hear what the dispatcher said and did let alone make that right. They filed paperwork regarding their right to place a lean on my property after already being paid more than what they were owed.Initial Complaint

On Dec. 6, 2021, service man, Gabe, replaced a pipe that entered into my septic tank. This pipe was supposed to eliminate the problem of tree roots growing through a pipe and clogging the entrance to the tank. The repair cost me $3,667. On Aug. 26, 2022, my septic tank backed up just as it used to do when the tree roots clogged it. I attempted to call Rooter-Man all day Friday and Sat. morning, and no person or machine answered. Because I was unable to reach anyone at this business, (and my toilets were backing up), I called Roter-Rooter and they came out immediately and rooter rooted my septic tank pipe. This cost me $200.00. But the toilets worked!!!!The Roter-Rooter service man told me that it was not tree roots that blocked my tank, it was a build-up of other debris, mostly hair. He told me that this was likely due to either the new pipe was improperly installed, or it settled into a position that narrowed the entrance which caused it to be easily blocked. On Saturday, Aug. 27, via Roter-Man's web site, I sent an Email requesting a call on Monday morning. I did not hear from them. I called them all Monday morning, Aug. 29th, with no person or machine answering. The service I am requesting from them is to send someone out to check the status of the pipe which was installed eight months ago. And to fix said problem as necessary.Thank you BBB. I appreciate your help.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: Only because what he said was not entirely true. I intend to carry this complaint NO FURTHER. But, just for putting it on the record, there was nothing "happy" about his response to me over the phone. It was pure ANGER. All of this would only come down to a "he said"-"she said" issue, and I have no desire to interact at all with this gentleman. He was so angry with me he did not even wish to hear me out; hardly allowing me a word in edgewise. He rejected everything I said as, I did everything wrong. And then HE HUNG UP ON ME. How "happy" a response to a customer is that?
Thank you BBB for your help. I wish this person well with his company. I will not continue any further action.
Many Blessings, *****************************
