Similar to the stories above. A phone call was their one and only communication to me. Told me that they would email me to offer the chance to cancel the fee of $249.99 before charging my card (30 day window). Never received an email. Calls have been unanswered. Letter and pack with CD said "Study Guide" in ******, **. Voicemail at their ************ number announced "College Prep". Credit card charge was to "Student Achievement".Initial Complaint

I received a phone call on May 24th indicating the school had recommended some SAT training materials for my child. The woman who called led me to believe she was from an organization that was related to the school district. I was told they would send the materials to me on a 30 day trial, and my card would be charged only if I didn't return them within 30 days. They charged my credit card $249.95 on that date (not just a hold - a hard charge). I received the materials - it was just a flash drive in in envelope with a very vague packing slip. I decided to return it - there was no return slip or envelope provided, so I made a copy of the original packing slip, wrote my name, phone, contact info, etc. on it and returned everything to them by mail on May 31st. I called the company on June 13th when I hadn't seen a refund yet - they claimed to not have received the package yet, but said they'd forward my message for research and to check back with them in 1-2 weeks. It's now July 1st and my credit card still has not been refunded. When I call I just get a voicemail message, so I've left another message. I firmly believe this is a SCAM and I won't be receiving my refund (based upon the complaints I just saw on your site).Initial Complaint

They called me on my cell phone and indicated to me that my son had signed up for materials thru his school. Upon asking my son, it was not true. I contacted the company to get a refund and they said as long as they get materials back within30 days, a full refund wld be issued. We tracked the package and the company received it back within 15 days and we have not received a refund even though we have repeatedly contacted them. We have proof they picked it up from the post office. Same is attached. Since they have received the package, we have contacted them nine times to get our money back as they indicated to us.Initial Complaint

I was contacted by this business who used a local phone number. They said my son (note they had his name!) requested help with the ACT. They said they were a non profit organization and would send discs that he could use to study and they were free. They adv they needed a credit card in case the discs were not returned and that we would not be charged. They also advised they would email and text us to remind us to return. They said they would only put a "pending" charge unless I didnt return discs. They charged $249.95 on my card right away. I tried to call the number back and it would not go through. The account name on my credit card was StudentSVCS . There was a phone number listed and I called them. The number was a California number and the voicemail said College Prep. I have left many messages with zero replies. This is 100% a scam.Initial Complaint

I was contacted by a man using a local area code who said they were working in conjunction with our high school. They said my daughter requested help with the ACT. They said they were a non profit organization and would send discs that my daughter could use to study and they were free. I just needed to give my credit card # to use for charges if they didn't receive the disks back within the 30 day period. Instead, they charged $249.95 on my card the day they first called on 3/6/24. I tried to call the number back and it was a computer generated telemarketer number and no one would answer. The account name on my bank statement was from "Student Achievement". The number was a California number and the voicemail said "College Prep". A woman ended up calling me back and I told her that what they sent me and what we received were 2 different things. CD Rom disks? None of our computers even have that ability anymore. I said, we can't use them and I'm sending the disks back. I received the discs on 3/11/24 and mailed them back postmarked 4/10/24 within the ************************************************************************************* an additional $99.95. I have called my financial institution to dispute the charges and shut my credit card down in case they think they can keep charging me. I'm ******. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!! Totally fraudulent!!!!!Initial Complaint

I was contacted by this business who used a local area code to make it look legit. They said my daughter requested help with the ACT. They said they were a non profit organization and would send discs that my daughter could use to study and they were free. I just needed to give my credit card # to use for charges if needed. I just had to return discs within 30 days. They acted like my card would not be charged unless I didnt return discs. Well they charged $249 on my card right away. I tried to call the number back and it was a computer generated telemarketer number and no one would answer. The account name on my bank statement was from Student Achievement. There was a phone number listed and I called them. The number was a California number and the voicemail said College Prep. They did call me back and I told them to cancel. She said she couldnt and had already mailed the discs to me. I said, we wont be using them and Ill send them right back. I received the discs on Friday and mailed them back on Saturday. They would have received the discs 2 days ago and no refund yet. I honestly feel this is a scam and I believe I wont get my $249 back. I did call and leave a voicemail today.Initial Complaint

I had someone call me claiming my daughter signed up stating she was interested in getting help to study for ACT/SAT. ****** stated we would be sent the college SAT prep materials; the materials would be free of charge for 30 days and we would need to return the materials in the envelope provided and my card wouldnt be charged. The caller stated that they would set up zoom meetings to help my daughter study. The caller stated they send email reminders and well as text prior to the return deadline and will send shipping confirmation once the material package is mailed out. My card was charged $****** instantly. No zoom meeting set up no calls stations it needed to be returned or that I would need to pay for return fees. Once my card was instantly charged, I sent the discs back to make sure I got refunded. It took over a month to get the refund and I only got 234 back not the ******. And now there is additional charge on ***** on my account. I have called the company 3 times and have not received a call back. The amount I would like back is ****** that is the original amount plus shipping and the additional random charge of *****.Customer Answer
