Benchmark is the absolute worst. If you ever have a car impounded by them, good luck getting it back. Even you do everything correctly, immediately, you then have to make an appointment, and youll be lucky if you only have to wait a week to get the vehicle back that you paid to get out. Then they try to scam you out of storage fees because they wont return your vehicle!*************************************************!!Initial Complaint

am writing to file a formal complaint against Benchmark Asset Resolution regarding their handling of the return of my vehicle after I repaid the amount owed to the auto financing company. The details of my complaint are as follows:On 6/26/2024, I promptly repaid the amount owed to the auto financing company. I was informed that an authorization had been sent to the towing company for me to pick up my vehicle. Following this, I scheduled an appointment with Benchmark Asset Resolution on 6/28/2024 and specified that I preferred to be contacted via text message.I was assured that I would be contacted within 72 hours of my appointment to provide the location where I could retrieve my vehicle. However, I never received any communication from Benchmark Asset Resolution. When I eventually managed to reach them, I was told that they were unable to contact me and that I needed to reschedule my appointment. This has occurred multiple times, and it has become clear that they are unjustly holding my vehicle without any intention of returning it to me. I called them to check in on 7/1 before my appointment on 7/2 and was told to reschedule. The same thing happened the week after. This situation is beyond unacceptable. Despite my repeated efforts to resolve the matter and my compliance with their payment requirements, Benchmark Asset Resolution has continuously failed to facilitate the return of my vehicle. Their lack of communication and refusal to release my car is causing significant inconvenience and stress.I kindly request the Better Business Bureau to investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that Benchmark Asset Resolution releases my vehicle promptly. I also seek assurance that they will improve their communication processes to prevent such issues from occurring in the future.Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your prompt assistance in resolving this issue.Initial Complaint

On Jun 10th 2024 my vehicle got repossessed by them and after I made an appointment to get my vehicle back I found out there was a big damages under my front bumper. I notified the employee about this, and she gave me an email to write a complain. I wrote them an email about what happened and was asking the insurance information to claim my damages, they refuse to give me an insurance information and responded that those damages was not done by them. Their negligence and unprofessionalism has no limitation. I hired an attorney and going after them. The total estimate I got from the body shop is around 10K.Initial Complaint

Dear Better Business Bureau,I wish to file a complaint against Benchmark Assets Resolutions, located at ******************************************************, regarding their towing/impound services. My vehicle was impounded on January 24th. After settling the issue with my bank, I received a release authorization for my vehicle from both my bank and the ******** Police.Benchmark insisted on scheduling a pickup appointment six days later, despite their website offering an option for earlier appointments. When I requested a same-day pickup, they informed me it wasn't possible due to full bookings. A subsequent call from Benchmark reiterated this, and when I protested, citing my release documents, the representative hung up on me without providing any information on the necessity for an appointment or the daily storage fees.I visited their *********** yard in person, only to find minimal signage and no staff available for hours. When I finally spoke with the yard manager, he stated appointments were needed due to staffing requirements, although there were no other customers or activity during my wait. They then demanded $945 for my vehicle's release, significantly more than the $425 tow fee paid through my bank, with an additional $300 for the same-day release request. I was told the fee would increase to $1,070 if I waited until the next appointment, with daily fees accumulating. This lack of transparency, coupled with excessive fees and poor communication, suggests a business model designed to exploit customers by accruing unnecessary charges. I urge the BBB to investigate Benchmark's practices to protect consumers from similar experiences.Initial Complaint

************ is used by other companies to repossess vehicles without telling the owner where the vehicle is or how they can pick it up, meanwhile vehicle charges are accumulating, after three days they put a lien sale on your vehicle, try to take the vehicle from the owner, Without giving the owner any chance to pay for and pick up their vehicle, there is no response on the phone number given, or the email or the website ************ Reposessed my vehicle on 11/27/23, all the fees were paid to the financial institution on that day, this company will not disclose the location of the vehicle or give an appointment to pick up the vehicle. At this point the vehicle is just sitting there in accumulating charges, I dont know if I can report my vehicle stolen at this point since this company is holding my vehicle hostage without any resolution
