Viking pushing a ********************* ******** Viking selling worthless insurance ********, they say read the Policy, yes that looks good, (but worthless) . They know it, yet do nothing but encourage their agents to push it. Read the reviews on internet and BBB. I want my insurance money refunded, before I make a ballon payment for the trip! They say No after I show them of 1000's of Terrible Reviews/Law Suits Filed about ******** on the internet. Viking to me is now a scam company, I will "not" be making a Ballon Payment $17,000. 11 Months before the service provided, backed by this ************** they push & sell ********. By the way when you see all the law suits filed in ****** against ******** and other states, you will understand. Then the final nail, ******** claims are in all decided in a ******* office. (See very small print) If you know the Law ******* Based companies are a protected from clients in *******. This tells it all Legally. Your screwed. Viking knows all this, yet pushes and sell this worthless ******** insurance? I will continue to tell my experience World Wide so Others will Know about Viking Policy, ********************** Consumer beware of **********************, ******** a scam company based on Actual reviews and Law Suites Filed. Mega Thousands, of Customers Dollars Lost. Very Sad for customers, willing to invest, then scammed out of their Dream Vacations.

We selected Viking River Cruise for our 49th wedding anniversary because it was considered the #1 cruise line and we trusted Viking's Covid health/safety protocols. As added financial protection for our $15,000 trip, we took Viking advice and purchased ********************* policy that promised financial compensation should coronavirus cut our trip short. Both would prove worthless. Within hours of boarding the boat, our cruise turned into an exhausting and harrowing nightmare. We received one false positive covid test result on the first morning of the cruise, from which point we never left our cabin. Our 7-day cruise consisted of: Packing and unpacking twice on successive days awaiting removal from the boat and the ride to ***** we were told would be coming but didn't arrive for 2 days. During this time, we could not leave our (viewless) cabin on the boat. The remaining days of our trip included a 7-hour car ride to ***** followed by 3 days of further isolation in an airport hotel room, which we could not leave, followed by retesting and directions by Viking to leave ***** within 24 hours. All meals on the boat awaiting our removal and at the hotel were left outside our doors. One thought sustained ** during this nightmare. We had purchased Viking's own recommended travel insurance so that we would be compensated for unused portions of any trip interrupted by Covid. We were wrong. After 5 months of trying to get compensation for our trip interruption, it appears that we are headed toward a lawsuit to recover our losses. Viking refuses to address its unannounced "one and done" Covid testing policy in effect for this trip, and insurance from Tripmate, recommended by Viking, has refused to cover the cost of the trip we did not get despite the fact that our losses resulted solely from (1) Viking's unstated Covid testing policy and (2) Tripmate's refusal to pay for the trip interruption we obviously experienced and that the policy clearly covers.

When we tried to book France's Finest Viking cruise with Viking, the pricing in the brochure that we had just received in the mail, was nowhere near the pricing that Viking's representative was quoting us. With our prior cruise discount of $200/pp he came up with a price of $9,390/pp. In the brochure, even without the prior cruise discount, the original price was $9,299/pp and had just been reduced to $8,799/pp.

We have never in our life seen a cruise company not match the fare that was in their brochure. Also, the pricing for the cruise in the brochure is by month, not by date, of an individual sailing, as was incorrectly explained by some of their representatives. Viking's website shows all the same fares for each cabin, each month, regardless of sailing date. There are no "lead-in" fares, as mentioned to us by Viking, shown through October of 2023!!! This is bait and switch deceptive advertising at its worst because this allows them to charge whatever fare they want because nothing that is in writing is valid, even checking your fares more than one year out!

While we are very interested in taking this cruise, we will not be taking it if the $800/pp pricing difference is not rectified. Nor would we ever consider taking another of their cruises ever again. We would then also like to be removed from their marketing brochures which come to us almost daily. FYI...we have taken over 30 cruises! We are also disappointed that when we tried to rectify this directly with Viking, they ignore us. We even sent a registered letter to ****** *****, Executive VP, but we never received a response. I also recently learned that my cousin also experience fare problems with Viking!.

Viking owes us ~$11,000 for a river cruise to Germany that was cancelled in April,2020 at the outbreak of Covid. Friends of ours that were traveling with us requested a refund and received their money back. We requested our refund, but were turned down without any reason. My wife had spinal surgery in July of 2020 and required 9 months of recuperation including physical therapy. In April of 2021, I had shoulder replacement surgery, which caused another six months of recovery including physical therapy, bringing us to October, 2021. My mother passed **** November 10, 2021 requiring estate work and in April 2022 I had knee surgery. In late May, we tried to book an Alaskan cruise with friends but were told we could not bring a motorized wheelchair, even though it was collapsible. My wife requires it for any type of excursions off the ship and I am unable to push a non-motorized wheel chair due the the shoulder and knee surgeries. For the third time, I then requested a refund of the ~$11,000 as I said we would be unable to take any future cruises with these restrictions. I was told that my time had expired the previous month. I said I had received no such notification. He said he would get back to me. I have since written a letter to the CEO at the Canoga Ave. address, with no responses from either him, nor the person who promised to get back from the phone call.
I do not expect to get the ~15% incentive voucher from the cancellation in April 2020, but I do not understand why Viking will not give me my ~$11,000 back for the payment I made for the river cruise which was cancelled.

We booked a Viking ship tour from Bergen to Barcelona this coming Sept. that included air fare.
Viking booked us on a flight to Bergen where we were separated and we both seated in the middle seats. The worst possible seat on the airline. We contacted the airlines and had to pay over $500 for better seats. Viking could have at least contacted us for more seating options.
