    I signed an initial contract with the owner, ******************, to refurbish, stain, replace some of the wood, and put a translucent cover on my pergola on my back patio on 2/29/24, and gave him $3,750 down payment for a $7,498 estimate. I signed a change order on 3/27/24 to remove the existing posts from the ground and put in footers for all four posts. The estimate for that work was $2700 and I gave him a down payment of $2700. He said he need 4 weeks to order the material. I contacted him several times by text or by phone to find out when he was going to get a crew in here to work on it and he finally got a contractor (his brother-in-law) to look at the job on the 5th of June. He said they could start work on it that Monday morning at 0830. They didn't show up until after 11:00 am and didn't do anything except get the posts out of the ground and move the pergola over to the side. Tuesday morning, two guys showed up and prepared the four holes and laid the cement for the footers. I had asked the ************************, for a schedule of work, and he said tentatively he would be out on Thursday to check the cement, but it would probably be Friday before they could drill holes in it to put in the metal brackets. Then they would finish up the work early the next week. I have not seen anybody since Tuesday. Nobody has come by on Thursday or Friday to check the cement. No holes have been drilled. I called ***** about 9:00 am this morning (Monday 17 June) to find out when the crew would resume work here and he assured me they would be here this afternoon. it is now almost 5:20 pm and nobody has shown up. I tried calling ***** at both numbers that I have for him and all I get is a recording. He has been stalling me to finish this work and I am getting fed up with his lies. I need help.     While there were delays in completing the project the project was completed and within Budget, Attached are pictures of the project. We had Material delays and weather delays that put us behind schedule. The customer paid us the remaining balance due. and was satisfied with our work in fact he told me he was pleased with how it turned out.
