I reached out to CycleBar to inquire about their classes and it took over 2 weeks for me to get a return call. I started classes with them anyway and really enjoyed the classes! Then on Friday, May 19th, all members received an email indicating the center at Southlands would be shut down effective 5/22. I immediately emailed, text messaged and called them asking that my membership be cancelled since they were going out of business. I didn't get any response, and then on 5/20 I was charged $20 for not showing up to their class on Saturday. At that point, I decided to join a membership at another indoor cycle center, and had no interest in taking part ** a class at Southlands, being that they were going to close their doors 2 days later. I then received an email indicating that my membership had been transferred to a location in ******, ******** which was not convenient for me, and I didn't indicate I wanted to transfer my membership to a location that was 30 miles further from me. I again emailed and Text messaged the Southlands Location indicating that I wanted my membership cancelled immediately and that I had no interest in transferring to the ****** location, not just because of the distance but because of the way the Southlands Center handled their members after going out of business. Fortunately, I reported the $20 charge to my bank as fraudulent, and after determining that the Southlands Center was indeed out of business, they reversed the payment and credited the $20 back to me. They also blocked any future attempts by CycleBar to charge my account for any reason. Interestingly enough, CycleBar AGAIN attempted to charge my account today 5/25/2023 but as I mentioned, my bank blocked the transaction and flagged it as fraudulent. Southlands CycleBar has tainted ALL CycleBar locations. They are thieves who think that is is appropriate to manipulate people into memberships & withdraw money even though they are out of business.
