On April 28, 2025, I hired Residential Concrete Works to replace our driveway for a total of /$9,900. As part of the agreement, the contractor was supposed to preserve all existing sprinkler lines and heads adjacent to the driveway. However, during the course of the work, the crew cut through the sprinkler lines located beneath the slab and discarded all nearby sprinkler heads without any attempt to preserve or protect the system.I first discovered the damage when activating the sprinkler system for the first time this season. I immediately notified the contractor of the issue and requested prompt repairs. In response, the contractor initially sent a couple of employees to investigate the situation. Upon realizing the extent of the damage, they contacted the owner. The owner then sent a sprinkler technician to assess the repair needs, who informed me he would return with the necessary parts. Unfortunately, he never returned, and no further action has been taken by the company despite multiple follow-up attempts on my part.I have left several messages for the owner requesting a status update, but I have received no response. The failure to restore the sprinkler system has led to serious concerns about potential erosion and damage to the new driveway slab, as I am unable to water my lawn adequately. The limited use of the system is also contributing to soil erosion beneath the new concrete, creating further risk.Estimated repairs to the system is $3500 if I need to find a different contractor to do the repairs. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I intend to pursue legal action in small claims court to recover the cost of repairs and associated damages.

I am writing this letter to share with you my warranty issues with Residential Concrete Works. I was given a two year warranty on my concrete project. I have several issues that need to be addressed; 1. The left side of the house where there is a concrete pad for parking was not correctly laid. 2. The retaining wall fell during **** hammering. I was watching when the wall fell. The crew was on top of the wall when it fell. Not a smart idea to be leaning on top of the wall while ****hammering! The wall was repaired for $3315.0022.00. I think it is fair for 1/3 of the walls cost, to be paid by Residential Concrete Works. 3. My sprinkler system needs repair due to concrete settling in the pipes on one of the zones.I have not written a complaint, since I dont want to damage this company. I am hoping these warranty issues can be resolved. Unfortunately, I have experienced some bulling and I feel I may need your backup. I was promised that this company would do right by me. I was a new Widow and I felt I needed concrete work done before I put my house on the market. When I put the house on the market the interest rates were increasing and it turned out not to be the best time to sell. I am also 100% disabled Veteran and stress causes autoimmune problems for me. I paid over $42,000.00 for my large concrete job. I expect for the aforementioned warranty issues to be satisfied fairly.I havent been contacted on when these repairs will begin. I guess it may be in the Spring due to the recent cold weather. Also, I agreed to take $700.00 for a settlement for the wall repair. Unfortunately, I have never been paid. I was told the check would be mailed right away. Three weeks later, still no check. This is not how a settlement works! If I do not receive a check within a week of the date of this letter, our settlement agreement is void. Please advise me on how I should proceed. *********************** ************ cc. Re

Residential Concrete Works was scheduled on Tuesday 9/26 to replace & expand my driveway, remove the wooden patio in the back yard & pour a larger concrete patio, pour a small patio in front of my house & replace the bottom step (only) of my 2 step concrete front porch. The quote for this ENTIRE project was $19,800, provided by ****. **** (the owner) called Monday & asked if they could start that afternoon. I agreed to this, even though I was at work & would not be home until around 6 PM. When I arrived home the crew had already left, but I saw they had removed my ENTIRE front porch. When I spoke to **** about this, his initial response was It would not have looked good without replacing the entire porch. When questioned about this, he responded that the porch was hollow. I have no way of knowing if it was or not, since it was already destroyed. He quoted me $1,100 to replace the porch. To accommodate this expense, I decided to not have the front patio poured. **** suggested I have a smaller front patio poured. At this point, I informed **** that I was not willing to pay a ***** more than $20,000 for the entire ************ agreed to this. I also agreed to change the original plan for two curved steps on the back patio to one long rectangular step. When the project was completed Tuesday afternoon, ***** son requested payment of $20,300. I told him I would write a check for $20,000 but was not paying the additional $300, as discussed with **** earlier. After calling ****, the son accepted the payment. Two days later, I noticed a crack in the concrete leading up to & running alongside the front porch, which is rapidly expanding. I have contacted **** and **** multiple times regarding this crack. **** finally called back on Friday 10/6 after I threatened to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. He said he would contact me Monday or Tuesday of the following week to schedule a time to come out & repair the crack. I never heard another word from him.

**** went out today Monday and fixed the cracks and spoke with customer about the miscommunication. Apologized. And customer stated she was happy and satisfied.

I NEVER said I was happy and satisfied. The repair work done was significantly darker than the original *************** assured me it would lighten up and blend better when it dried. I told ********** would respond to BBB after the concrete dried and I could see how it looked. It still looks awful. I noticed Wednesday morning that the crack **** repaired Monday afternoon had opened back up. **** is scheduled to come back this morning to address these issues.

    Sincerely,

**** went out today 10/19 to power wash, seal and add a tint to the concrete.
    fixed the crack.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 10/22/2023

**** did power wash the entire area and added tint and seal to the front porch & back patio.  He also fixed the original crack by the front porch and another crack that appeared on the patio. He  said he would warranty the cracks for 2 years, instead of the original 1 year. The tint and seal did improve the appearance of the patches they had previously poured when straightening the support posts on the patio that were left at an angle originally.

At this point I am probably as satisfied as I am going to be, so I am increasing my rating. But bottom line, I have a brand new patio and front porch with patches and cracks. If as much attention had been paid during the original job as has been paid after I filed a complaint, none of this would have been necessary.  I am somewhat concerned about future issues and ***** willingness to honor the warranty since I will not give him the 5 stars he is pressuring me to give.

I wish I had seen Residential Concrete Works Yelp rating and reviews beforehand.

I hired Residential Concrete Works to do 627 square feet of flatwork for me. They were scheduled to do the work 9/21/23 in the afternoon. No one showed up with no calls. I called the office and was told they were too busy on another job to come out, we rescheduled the work for 9/22/23, with a start time of 1:00pm-2:00pm. They showed up at 11:00am on 9/22/23. My initial in-person quote was for 528 sq ft of work for $4,500. Prior to scheduling, I called ****, their estimator, asking if I could add more square footage to the same area. He said that was no problem and gave me a quote over the phone for $5,400. This addition had not been communicated to Vino, the owner. When he was starting to install the forms it was off of the old dimensions, not the new. After that correction they did the work and everything seemed ok. They took their forms off the same day and requested payment in full before leaving. I wrote a check for $5,400 and they left. After 24 hours I walked on the concrete to look at the formed edges. Nowhere were the edges 4" thick, which is what **** had told me they would be and is the industry minimum for driveways. The portion closest to the street is only 2" thick. I put a stop order on my check and emailed pictures of the formed edges to the company. **** came out on 9/26/23 to look at the work and admitted no fault or wrongdoing. His only solution was to extend our warranty from 1 year to 3 years. I told him I needed to think about it. On 9/27/23 I emailed and texted them I am willing to pay $2,794.28 for the ***** square feet of non-loading bearing sidewalk I am willing to keep. I would like to contract a different company to remove and replace their driveway work that is too thin. I specified all of my future communication will be in writing. **** then called me 4 times and told me in a voicemail he was coming to my house (without my consent.) I've attached a screenshot of our text conversation. I have not received a yes or no to my email/text.

We have spoken with Client/ ***** and have not ignored his emails we had to communicate with **** on what route we wanted to go. We do have a one year warranty and did offer to extend warranty so Im not sure where the dissatisfaction with communication has been. We have spoke with the office personnel and no one said we were busy on another job as I do apologize for the misunderstanding. We do have changes in schedule due to weather and concrete availability but do try to be as accurate as possible. We have responded to customer and want to come to an agreement where he thinks its fair and have not received a response.
