I am filing a complaint against Gold Point and Vacatia regarding their refusal to provide a release from my vacation ownership and associated memberships. Despite multiple requests for assistance, I have been told the only option is to sell the *********, even though the company has the ability to take it back directly. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, with the passing of my husband in Aug. 2023, I am no longer able to maintain this ownership. My financial priorities have shifted, & retaining the timeshare is neither practical nor desired. Furthermore, my children cannot inherit this ownership as they will not be able to maintain it ************** 1997 when purchased, we were drawn in by promises of ************************* through vacation ownership, including benefits with **********************(II). However, the reality has been far from satisfactory. Limited availability during peak times, such as summer, has made it difficult for our family to use the timeshare due to school schedules. The quality of accommodations, particularly in locations like ***********************, have been below our expectations.Adding to these challenges are the escalating financial burdens, plus rising maintenance fees & increased II costs straining my resources. Despite these *********** changing personal circumstances, Gold Point and Vacatia continue to withhold meaningful assistance in resolving this matter.I've made multiple attempts to request the cancellation of my ownership but have only been offered the option to sell it myself, a process that places unfair responsibility on me while the company has the ability to accept a deed-back or other release. This lack of support has left me in a difficult and stressful position.I am seeking your assistance in holding Gold Point and Vacatia accountable for their failure to provide a reasonable resolution. I request that they offer a clear path to release me from this ownership without requiring a sale on my part.

RE: Your Better Business Bureau Complaint Regarding Gold Point Resort

    Dear *** ******:

Thank you for your message, and for 28 years of ownership at Gold Point Resort. Were sorry to hear that you are no longer able to maintain your ownership, and we want to make sure you have all the correct information and available options.

First, wed like to clarify the roles of the parties involved:

Vacatia is not the developer of Gold Point Resort were the management company hired by the Gold Point ********************** and Gold Point II ********************** to provide property oversight. The two homeowners associations are also not the developer of the resort. They are made up of fellow owners, like yourself.

The developer from whom you originally purchased your week is Breckenridge Grand Vacations. Any commitments regarding your ownership including exiting your ownership would have come from Breckenridge Grand Vacations at the time of purchase. While we understand that you prefer to deed back your week, unfortunately, that is not an option through Vacatia.

That said, as your management company, we do want to help you better understand the for-sale option provided by Vacatia. Listing your week for sale on Vacatias online marketplace offers several benefits:

Its easy. Just go to ******************************************************************** and fill out the form.

Its free. You do not pay to list on **************************.

You have the flexibility to list your week at any price, including $0 if you wish.

We hope this information is helpful and would be happy to assist you further if you decide to list your week on Vacatias online marketplace. For more information, call Vacatia ****************** at ************.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ****** | GM | Gold Point Resort
