  I was impressed with Smith Plumbing and Heating initially because of their sales person **** who was personally referred to me by a friend. Were there some hiccups with scheduling, and a bit of a price change from the original quote? Yes. However, I will say that this company does truly care about their customers. The **** install guys stayed late to finish their job with no complaints, then electricians had to come out unexpectedly and they did so quickly, and made sure my schedule was respected when I called and asked them if they could make it by a certain time. A few weeks after the job they even have a person in office personally call you and ask about how the job went and if you have anything to share. Last but not least I called them because I noticed some water in my crawl space and asked if they could come look to see what was going on with the *** again no rudeness, they told me it would be no problem and they would get someone out at no charge. For these reasons I will recommend them to anyone who asks.

  Smith was called out to inspect my sewer lines at my home. that part of the job was done professionally and timely. I requested that they replace the drain ****** on the sewer line for my downstairs commode since mine was broken. they estimated the price at around $500 dollars. A little high for a simple ****** replacement but I wanted it done quickly and agreed. The plumbing repairman arrived as scheduled a began work. He removed the old ****** and proceeded to cut the end off of the floor drain. He then started saying that the concrete was damaged and the drain pipe was corroded and needed to be dug up and replaced. Such actions would have added a significant amount to the cost of the repair. He left saying that I needed to talk to his ******* about the additional work. I then took the time to look at what he had left. The original concrete is not damaged at all and the pipe is dirty on the inside but not significantly corroded. I have since asked other repair companies to come and look at finishing the repair. they will arrive at a later date. When contacted over the phone by the repair *******, I told him I was not going to allow them to inflate the job and inflate the charges. he said he would remove me from their work schedule. I prepaid the estimated cost for the repair and today received a statement from this company stating that I was being charged the full amount of the estimate even though I have nothing now except a hole in my bathroom floor where the ****** should be. Charging the full amount for an incomplete job and attempting to inflate the repair cost by adding unnecessary work sounds like very questionable business practices. I would recommend that future households be cautious before contracting with this company.

  ***, this review is complete nonsense. We only charged you for the work we performed. The extend of the repair cannot be known prior to removing the toilet to replace the ******. Once we did that, the plumber wasn't able to complete the ****** replacement without additional work. When the additional cost to install the new toilet ****** correctly by fixing the very corroded cast iron waste line was presented to you, you have every right to decline the additional work. And we have every right to decline any further service if the repair cannot be done competently and professionally. You were charged $307 for the work we performed and not $500. I take offense to you suggesting we have "questionable business practices", because we do not. We are a professional plumbing company and as such we don't do shoddy work or cut corners on our repairs. Again, you have every right to decline the work and you did. That should be the end of it, but somehow you feel it necessary to trash us on the BBB for simply doing a professional job. Shame.
