    Rising HOA Fees but racial discrimination when it comes to getting stuff fixed for people of color that live in the community. Example of Dog Waste Been has been missing for over 2 years without being fixed and head Manager **** ********* hung up in my face when asked to fix this. Very disappointing and disrespectful as a tenant who pays there HOA fees every month.

    Dominik Martinez is not a customer of Homestead Management Corporation (“Homestead”). Homestead has a contractual relationship with the association in which Mr. Martinez resides, and as such, he is not a customer with respect to Homestead.

    The association is aware of and in the process of researching the bin issue.  Homestead is the management company hired by the association to facilitate changes agreed to and approved by the association’s board of directors.  Additionally, Homestead does not itself make any determination to perform maintenance for the association, nor does it perform any actual maintenance or repairs.


    The association’s board of directors takes raising association dues very seriously, and performs its research and due diligence when considering an increase in dues.  In general, running and maintaining a community is subject to the same inflation, increase in cost of living, increase in labor and materials costs, etc., as all individuals and entities, and the board is doing its best to minimize the impact on owners.  As with the maintenance and repairs, Homestead does not make the decision to increase dues, it simply handles the administrative side once the board decides to move forward with same.   

    In conclusion, Homestead has not committed any errors with respect to maintenance or the increase in dues for the association.  Furthermore, Mr. Martinez is not a customer of Homestead and therefore cannot be considered a consumer with respect to Homestead.

    ****************, thank you for the review. While we understand the appearance of a community may be indicative of the management company, we are going to kindly decline this claim in this circumstance. The community you live in has been managed by Homestead Management for nearly forty (40) years. The outward appearance of your community is based on the financial standing of the community. We have DECADES of documentation in which the financial standing of the community was presented to the ***** of ********* with recommendations to increase Assessments in the community to be able to perform even routine maintenance. While increases have obviously taken place over these many years, not nearly to the extent recommended, resulting in a direct inability to address items for many years now. Remember, the ***** of ********* makes these decisions, was made well aware of their financial standing, and has made every effort to keep dues as low as possible for all homeowners. It's a difficult pendulum to balance. The ***** of ********* has also had the opportunity to fire us inside of thirty (30) days if they believed the condition of the community was indicative of our performance. Forty years later, they have not exercised that opportunity, heard our advice, and chosen to assess owners what they have, thus resulting in the ability (or inability) to perform community enhancements. Have you spoken with the ***** or thought about running for the board to aid in the decisions you seem concerned about?
