I bought the Safe and Sound Protocol and Focus system in the middle of November 2022. I am a small business that uses alternative healing methods for trauma and I am a board-certified practitioner. I meet the requirements to use this product but I was barred from it and discriminated against. Unyte then proceeded to block my account so that I can not log in in at all and deny me access to the products that I purchased. I have emails where it states I am unable to purchase what is needed to use the certifications that I bought. I proceeded to do a chargeback since I was barred from my account and denied access to the products. The company then proceeded to provide incorrect documentation to my back claiming that I have access to it when I do not. I also asked to speak to the clinical and "***" said she was on the clinical team but she is actually just customer service from what I can gather in our emails. I use Somatic Practices in my business but did not realize that there was an actual SEP certification because I had not come across it before. I have included the email where they show they had barred my account and I still don't have access. The course is a waste of time without the certification and it is a monopoly because they are the only providers who use and allow access to the program. I have included a photo of my bank account where my claim was reversed and after speaking with the claims team, it was because Unyte stated I have access, please refer to above where I am barred from it. I also included the login screen showing I can not access the products I bought. I will also be filing a claim with the attorney general if I am not given complete access as a practitioner even if I am refunded for discrimination at this point as a small business owner and a practitioner.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/24/2023

The Complainant purchased training for our programs by misrepresenting her certification even after at least two different agents let her know that she would not qualify without submitting additional details of her work and experience.  When we realized she was not actually qualified, we invited her to submit additional details and she did not do so.  Instead she requested a refund for training that she had already consumed (except 25% of the second course)  While we sorted the details, we communicated with her that we were blocking her access until we received additional information.  She disputed the charge with her credit card company and it seems the credit card company has agreed the charge was valid.  She claims we manufactured information that we submitted, but in fact all of the information came directly from our records.  We communicated we were completely willing to ***** her access to complete the training if she only acknowledged that she did not qualify to purchase a post training subscription to our protocol.  She would make no acknowledgement.

*** is, in fact, part of the Clinical Team that processes provider qualifications.

Yes, the *** is a unique product that is not offered anywhere else.  That does not qualify us as a monopoly in the disparaging way the complainant intended.

There was no discrimination.  We require every professional who does not hold one of our listed licenses to engage in the additional process and submit further details.  The complainant circumvented this process with misrepresentation.  We dearly wish she had taken the proper steps from the beginning as we feel she has the passion and drive to eventually be a qualified provider.

The complainant has since completed the requested paperwork and it has been decided that she does not meet the qualifications as a provider of our therapeutic modality.  As such, we have offered a full refund of her training, even though she has already completed the majority of the coursework.  We have yet to hear back regarding our offer of a refund.  We cannot extend a subscription to a provider who does not meet our qualifications.
