I originally purchased four money orders for $500.00 each. When I deposited them into my bank account they would not honor them. So I contacted western union customer service to get a refund. They finally sent the refund checks for each money order minus the the charge they took out for doing the refund. That made each refund 471.50(four of them) the problem came when I tried to deposit the refund check into the bank the bank contacted me that they had issued a stop payment on the checks. I called them on 4/4/25 and explained to them that I am not able to submit the forms on their website because the sumbit button never appears (I tried while on the phone with ***** the supervisor and it would not work) I got a case number of ********* from *****. ***** stated that he put into the comments that he was going to request an immediate refund via a western union pickup (wire transfer) I have still not heard anything as of today 7/1/25. I work in retail and am not able to keep calling the customer service number to try to get this resolved..I truly just want my money back.Business Response

I purchased a money order from Western Union early May in the amount of $489.25. Western Union has confirmed that the money order was cashed and provided a scanned image showing it.However, I went to ********* with the intended recipient, and the bank confirmed that the money order was rejected when they tried to present it and that they never received any funds.I contacted Western Union multiple times and escalated the issue, including emailing their customer service team and providing documentation. I have not received any ************ Im caught between Western Union saying it was cashed and the bank saying they were never paid. I am writing to file a serious complaint regarding a transaction made on April 10, 2025, which, over two months later, has neither been completed nor refunded. the amount is ***** cad.I sent a considerable amount of money to ****** expecting same-day delivery, as promised. However, the money never arrived, and the transaction remained in progress. I was unable to cancel it, as the funds had already been withdrawn from my credit card.For weeks, I was told it was processing. Later, I was informed the refund would be returned to my card that never happened. After multiple calls and speaking with supervisors, I was told I could retrieve the money in person. I went to a branch in ****** it didnt work. Back in ******, I was told I could go to any location also ******** **************, the limit was $1,000. In *************, they refused to pay in cash, only via debit card. Even using a friends card, they didnt accept it. Now, Im told the money was paid, which is not true. I have not received anything.Despite many attempts, I have not received any email confirmation, protocol number, or clear resolution. I paid to have a money transfer directly to my ***** account on 6/19/25 to pay to secure for a wedding venue. On 6/20/25 western union still have not release the funds to my receiver. I called and asked why they were holding my funds. No one could explain the reason why. They only said that their internal bank was holding the funds and could not explain to me the reason why. I have sent several transfers to my fianc using western union before and did not have any issues with sending the money. Now, because I sent a transfer for $1200 to secure a wedding venue, western union decide they want to hold my funds. I have paid for a service with them that I did not receive. I paid a service fee of $7.99 to have funds transferred to my ********** account by 6/19/25, it is now 6/20/25 and the money is still not deposited into my ***** account. I am requesting that the $7.99 fee that I paid to have a service completed for me to be refunded and is also filing a former complaint about the policies of this company. Because no one could tell me the reasons why they unnecessarily held my money and prevented me from being able to secure my wedding venue on the date my fianc and I chose to have it. I want a refund for $7.99 fee because I did not get the money deposited into the receiver account on the day that it should have been released.Business Response

Today was my 8th attempt at contacting ** to get money for missing ** reimbursed. As stated in my original ** Research Request, I purchased 2 ** for $150 each from my local Publix on 8/13/24. They were inadvertently thrown away the next day, and we could not retrieve them from the garbage -- not signed, filled out nor separated from the stubs. The following is a synopsis of my previous conversations for the past 9 months with ** ***resentatives:8/24 Case #********* was told to resubmit paperwork. 10/22 Case #********* was told to resubmit correct paperwork. 2/10/25 was told 10/22 refund request paperwork not found/received case closed, given ************ to call and transferred to ************, told send another set of ** Research Request forms. I sent both new forms and two checks certified mail receipt. 2/14 Check #**** and #**** were deposited by ** and cleared account on 2/20, but I received zero follow up response. 5/12 was told to contact ************, gave the *** dates checks cleared, given Case #********* and told someone would email a follow up response in 48 hrs; no response. 6/1 told the above Case# was invalid and could not provide any updates for me, given the same two 800 numbers I have already used twice, told to resubmit (and ***ay for) the ** Research Request form (for 3rd time), told to fax ************ or email ************************************************** same forms (did email on 6/2 but got no response). Requested supervisor who copied and pasted same response as the previous ***. 6/14 was told case closed due to not finding ** (As I stated, they were thrown away and could only provide receipt of exact date/time of purchase), *** re-escalated case, given Case #********* and told someone would respond in 48 hrs. **** are responding with approved specific script (even if script has already been followed) that furthers a ***eated circle. On June 4, 2025, I sent a $570 USD money transfer via Western Union to a recipient which they tried picking up in ********, ****** location. We designated the transfer for same-day pickup at a Western Union location inside the ****************. The recipient attempted to retrieve the funds but was repeatedly denied at three different Western Union locations. At the *************** ******* Western Union location the agent didn't dispense the money and said due to an error code it's preventing disbursement.When I escalated the matter to Western Unions customer service, I was advised to file a non-payment claim and told I would need to wait 20 days for a resolution despite the transfer being marketed as same-day. During follow-up calls to the **************** location, a store manager admitted that the employee on duty that day was not properly trained to process Western Union transactions, which directly contributed to the problem.This delay has caused financial stress and serious inconvenience to my recipient. Furthermore, this indicates systemic issues with staff training and operational compliance at Western Union agent locations.I respectfully request the following:1. Expedited resolution of the non-payment claim and immediate release of the $570 to the recipient, or a prompt refund to me.2. Documentation explaining why untrained staff were allowed to handle financial transactions and what measures will be taken to prevent future training failures.3. They deposited it it but a few days later the money was returned 'Refer to Maker', March 6 and the money was taken out of their account and returned. I have filled out a refund request, a research request and affidavit (no option for refer to Maker in any of those forms). On 02/28/2025 I purchased 2 western union money orders, one for ****** and one for *******. I mailed them on 03/02/2025 to my landlord like I do every month. He called me on 03/07/2025 letting me know he never received them. So then I went on the Western Union website and submitted a a claim for a refund. I then got an email like a week later telling me only the ****** one was ready and the ******* one they put a hold because someone else tried to get a refund on 03/04/2025 that wasn't me so I've been dealing with this since then. That's my rent money and they supposedly investigating the case I call every week and it's such a hassle every time they either hang up on you or put you on hold for ever and they never have any results just that they email their investigation team and they're working I'm very frustrated. I can't believe I'm getting the run around knowing I'm the purchaser and treating me like I'm the one who stoled the money order and tried to get that refund.
