******************************, ******, **, Sunday evening August 11, 2024, for dinner. No attendant or machine, just QR code for payment. Was given choice of paying for 1 hr., 2 hr., or all day. Thought dinner, around corner, would take 1 1/2 hr., so paid $12 for 2 hrs. ****** took longer, so when returned to lot looked for way to pay for extra time but could find no way to do that and no information posted or on website that QR code linked to. Assumed license plate would be recorded and bill sent for $13, as would happen on toll roads. Shocked when **** arrived from Parking Revenue Recovery Services, ***** for $87. Researching that company, discovered that it was the subject of an action by the CO Attorney General, and that Better Business Bureau received 779 complaints over the past 12 months.Business Response

Hi ******,
I appologize that you had difficulty with our payment platform. Typically you would receive a text message when your session is about to end asking if you would like to extend your time. I will have PRRS void your citation.
Thank you for your business!

On June 09/2024, my partner, myself, and two kids parked in a paid parking lot belonging to the aforementioned company. I scanned the ** code and paid for parking. Sometime in the following weeks we received a bill for over $80 claiming that we never paid for parking. I located the charge in my bank account for that day and it was sent to them as proof that parking was indeed paid. It seems that they did not increase their own prices for the event as it was for PRIDE. They responded to the proof asking for more proof including a receipt with a date. I never signed up for an account when I paid for the spot I only logged in as a guest so none of that information was given to me. The company is falsely trying to make more money from people and will not accept that I paid the fee. I have attached the bank statement that literally shows the date, the fee and the company WITH the company's phone number.Business Response

HI,
I appologize for the delay in my response. I have contacted PRRS to void the notice that you were sent and we are looking into why our payment app didn't communicate with their enforcement correctly. No further action is required on your part.
Thank you for your patience.

On April 26 2024 I entered one of the parking lots managed by Nationwide Parking Services (at ****************************). I scanned their QR code to make payment, and the session was initiated. Right away the app indicated my method of payment was approved, and the app began "processing payment". The processing payment page continued to "process" (displayed a moving circular arrow that tells you something is happening), so rather than sitting in the car I took my phone with me to the restaurant next door (my destination) and waited for confirmation. After 5 minutes of no progress, I closed the session and attempted again. I made several attempts: Upon arrival in the parking lot, during my lunch several times, and at the car after lunch. it was clear to me the website was not going to respond beyond the " processing payment" screen. Wanting to resolve the amount owed (for 2 hours parking) I then called the number listed on the parking lot sign. An automated response indicated I would be put on hold behind 34 other callers. I waited on hold for several minutes, but decided to hang up and use the online option as the phone wait would have likely been longer than I had cell phone battery power. The alternative contact was ************** (listed on their sign). I emailed the company as soon as I returned home. Attached is a copy of the email I sent that same day to resolve the issue. I have received no response from Nationwide Parking Services as of this writing. I did receive a Parking Notice from Parking Revenue Recovery Services, *** (attached dated May 1). I made a follow up call to PRRS (May 7) and they suggested I wait an additional week for a response to my initial email. I emailed their appeals department with the above explanation (email copy attached). I am writing you because Im worried that this will continue unaddressed until the 30-day window for disputes passes and the debt goes into collection. I am asking only that they amend the fees from what they say is now $87 plus $6 processing costs. to the initial cost I would have paid had the transaction gone through. I am not disputing that I used their service, I am merely indicating that they did not give me the opportunity to cover the expense in good faith at the time of use.Business Response

I apologize that there was an issue with our payment app. We will void the parking notice for you. Do you know what phone number you called when you were told there were 34 callers ahead of you? Our 800 number doesn't have that feature. Please feel free to reach out to me directly through the email I replied to earlier today.
Thank you.

On 1/24/2024 at 6:12 PM I parked my car (license plate ******* at your lot located at ***********************************************************. A group of ** were attending an event that evening across the street at the ****************** building. I entered my car license number in your pay machine, and when prompted, inserted my **************** credit card to pay the $5.00 fee. I thought the transaction was completed, but I did not receive a receipt. Other people in the group had the same result, so I know it was not an input error on my part. We assumed the machine was out of paper. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill in the mail yesterday, from Parking Revenue Recovery Services for $87.00 (Notice number: NWDEN-******). I wonder how long this machine has not been operating properly, and if this is just a way for you to mark up a $5.00 parking fee to $87.00. My next email will be to the ******** ************************** as this certainly appears to be a scam. Please advise at your earliest convenience.Business Response

********************** also reached out to us through our website and email. I replied to ********************** by email last night assuring him that this isn't a scam and that we would void his violation. **********************, please feel free to reply to my email if I can be of further assistance.

I did receive an email from *********************** at 11:19 PM last night, indicating that he would have my violation voided. I replied to his email, thanking him for his prompt response, and asking him for confirmation that the violation was voided. I see in his message to you that this is the first he has heard of the problem and that the pay station is now working properly. I must say that the the person before me in line at the pay station had the same problem, i.e. no receipt after inserting their credit card, as did the person after me. The person after me took a picture of the pay station screen after inserting his credit card and not receiving a receipt, but I do not know his name. It appears that I am the first person to report this issue, but I may not be the last. Perhaps the other 2 people in line with me that night are following up to the business who sent the collection letter, Parking Revenue Recovery Services. I chose to follow up with the parking lot owner, Nationwide Parking Services, directly. I have no plans to park in this lot again, so I have no way of verifying that the pay station is working properly, but I do appreciate ********************** prompt response.Initial Complaint

Parking Revenue Recovery Services *** has a lot in downtown *********, ******** that is poorly signed. One can be easily confused by the PUBLIC PARKING sign, as well as signs that are hidden, or otherwise face directions that make it hard to realize it is a paid lot. The 'fine' they try to attribute for 30 min of parking is 87 dollars, which is quite a scam, and usury. Their letter of notice makes it seem like they try to say to you WE DECIDE EVERYTHING IN ANY DISPUTE, acting like judge jury and executioner. They decide the merits by themselves, no third party or impartiality. I am currently in dispute over their alleged claim. I offered 20 for their claim it was my error not reading, but with hidden signs, and the location of the lot you have to pull in fast due to dangerous traffic conditions, it is easy to miss.Customer Answer
Date: 01/19/2024
The poor sign location, and biggest tallest sign not indicating it is a paid log. I offered 20 dollars in settlement, they refused. Some signs EMBEDDED within parking poles. The location has bad traffic and I had to pull in fast, pulling in on left side and parking on left end. The tall sign just says public parking, and the other signs I saw when I revisited the site reveal some are embedded within parking poles, facing wrong direction in one case for anyone pulling into lot, and other sign is bent nearly in half. The 87 dollar fee for this poor sign system leads one to believe this is intentional, as the signs are small as well.
Their notice also has ominous and nearly threatening words, indicating they are the final arbitrator, what they say goes, which is not how this should work. I will file a court case if necessary, and ask for a jury trial, as I feel you ask 100 reasonable people about this situation, and more than 70 would agree with my stance.

Hi ******,
I'm sorry you found our signs confusing at this locaiton. This is the first time we have had a complaint about this since we started operating the lot over a year ago. We will take a look at the signage and try and make improvements. In the meantime, we are voiding your violation with PRRS, so please disregard the notice you received. Thank you for your business.

On 11/28/2023, I parked at *************************************************************** in a Nationwide parking lot. I arrived at 5:43 p.m. and paid for 2 hours of parking for $4.00. My meeting ran later than expected and I left the parking lot at 8:19 p.m. (36 minutes beyond my paid parking). I received a parking notice from Parking Revenue Recovery Services **** for a ticket violation in the amount of $87.00. Nationwide has deceptive practices associated with their parking lots. Charging $87 for a 36-minute parking violation is egregious. Nationwide does not include their name anywhere on the parking violation.Business Response
Date: 12/12/2023
There is signage on the parking lot clearly stating that there is no free parking at any time. The parking notice is sent out by our third party enforcement company, PRRS. We will not be able to void this ticket.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: The sign clearly states there is no free parking, but to charge $87 for 36 minutes is egregious and predatory. I will notify all the downtown businesses of your practice and encourage all of them to not utilize your parking. Obviously, this is an empty threat to a sneaky company, but I feel it's important for the merchants to understand the policy and predatory nature of your company.

Initial complaint email to business:We ended up paying $30 today to park for 1.5 hours on 10/18/23. The credit machine did not offer us any alternatives to pay other than $30 and the lot wasn't even half full. We then noticed that the corner sign stated $6 per hour or $18 per day so not sure why we had to pay $30? We also noticed someone else paying to park as we were leaving so we asked them if they were given any other choice but to pay $30 and they said that that was the only option that the machine was giving them. Please refund a portion of this fee and let us know. Thanks.=======================================================Business response:Hi ****,There was a special event last night and our $30 "Event Rate" was posted on our rate sign and was also on the payment screen on the pay station. During Events the hourly and daily rates are not offered.=======================================================My reply (have not heard back since for 3 weeks):****, thanks for your response. What was the event? We did not see an "event rate" posted anywhere other than us first parking and then we go to pay and the machine asks for $30 and at that point we are already parked and running late. Also, where was the "event rate" posted saying it would be $30? This needs to be "clearly" posted in big and bright signage so that this kind of stuff doesn't happen. Please send me a photo of where this was clearly posted (other than the machine although I don't think the machine said anything either about a special event) so we can move on. Otherwise, either please refund a portion of our hard earned money or we can take this up with city council and whoever else will listen. Thanks.Business Response

On 8/29/23 I parked across the street from my ***************** near ************* since there was no handicap spots near their office so I parked in what seemed an abandoned lot (old VA hospital) with several large dumpsters parked in the lot. The few signs there seemed old (no dates on the signs) and I thought were from the Old VA hospital signs. I parked in a space with faded white lines and 3ft or higher weeds in front of my car. I was there for less than 2 hrs. On 9/12/23 I received a letter from Parking Revenue Recovery Services for a bill of $87 for not paying to park there. I did not know one was to pay in a run down parking lot. When I called their #, they said the parking lot is owned by Nationwide Parking Services. I found on line today that the parking there is $3 for 2 hrs. Im willing to pay the $3 but not $87 for a simple mistake. I needed a handicap spot since I use a cane and have a handicap placard. I cant afford to pay 29 times the standard parking and should have been charged the $3 and not the $87. There is no sign to say $87 will be charged if you dont pay. You also have to have a smart phone to get the ** code to pay! Today I spent 45 minutes waiting to talk to the **** with no help (spoke to *****)and now Ive been on hold to talk to the Nationwide Parking Company for over 1 hr now. 1 hr later and the call to Nationwide is also calling the **** person ***** again. Im elderly and handicap and $87 is a lot of Money for a one time simple mistake. I asked the ***************** if that was ok when I arrived or do I need a note/card from them and they said no. On Nationwides website they brag about the ****** citations they issue per month which is $3.5 million revenue per month by billing people for parking in poorly marked parking spaces. They should give a warning and charge the normal fee for first time offense. Im not sure what Im going to do in 3 weeks when I see that doctor again as parking is tough for handicap there.Business Response

I am disputing the violation notice ELKSDEN-******. Below is the receipt for payment showing parking was paid in full. When I first entered the lot on 5/17/23, I immediately created account and attempted to pay. The website gave me errors (screen shots attached - taken around 6:02pm -6:05pm) which precluded me from paying immediately, but I continued to reattempt until parking was paid (per receipt below). Finally at 6:21 pm payment was accepted.A few weeks later, I received a notice of debt payment for $82 due to a late payment not meeting your ridiculous and unposted "grace ******* due to your website being down. I responded to your partner, Parking Revenue Recovery Services, with the proof of the above and following that I received another notice from your predatory attorney stating a debt due of $82. This fine needs to be removed. Furthermore, I request compensation from Nationwide Parking Services and its partners Parking Revenue Recovery Services and *************************** Attorney for wasting my time with false information and by putting an undue burden and stress on me and my family after proof was provided that the violation fine was unwarranted.Business Response

On 3/6/22, I parked in one of the company's parking lots in ****** and paid for a whole day of parking. Company claims I only paid for a certain number of hours and was 21 minutes over. Therefore, they charged me $80 for supposedly being 21 minutes over. I tried many times to explain this and no one would get back to me in a timely manner or remove the charge. It was sent to an attorney's office for collections and they would not get back to me in a timely manner or remove the charge. You have not received a response or refund because your violation information was never sent to me until now. Looking into your violation, your parking session was expired when the ticket was issued. This is no different than parking at a parking meter and receiving a ticket from the city for an expired meter. I apologize for our enforcement company, PRRS, not responding to you in a timely manner to explain this. I am rejecting this response because: I had paid for a full day of parking so it couldn't have expired. Even if it did, it did not warrant an $80 charge. That is excessive. And I have spoken to your company and your attorney previously. I will certainly not be using your parking lot again after this treatment so have no use for a discount. I would like a refund.
