1 starWe have always used Applewood Plumbing in the past, but after our most recent experience, we will never use them again. Our sewer line at a rental property backed up, and Applewood came out to clear it. They returned the next day with a camera, and when the line backed up again, we were told that the entire 87-foot sewer line needed to be replaced. The quote we received was a staggering $47,000, which included a "relief trench" in the front yard to divert sewage until the line could be replaced. This trench alone seemed unnecessary, was going to cost $1500, and not a standard practice, according to other companies we consulted.We had spent $9,000 just two years ago with Applewood to replace a section of the sewer line and add an access point in the yard. Unfortunately, they left about 4 feet of old piping between the house and the section they replaced. If they had replaced that 4 feet of line, we wouldn't have to tear out and replace the work they did just two years ago. Applewood offered a $7,000 credit for the previous work, bringing the quote down to $40,000, but this was still far more expensive than other companies.After getting quotes from other reputable companies, we found the cost to replace the entire 87-foot line ranged from $24,000 to $30,000a significant difference. Additionally, these companies informed us of another access point in the line that had been previously repaired and covered up, which Applewood never mentioned. This raises serious doubts about whether the original repair work two years ago was even necessary.This was a big job, but we feel completely let down by Applewood Plumbing and question the integrity of their business practices. I will absolutely never use Applewood for another service again.Review fromKevin W
