I purchased a 2009 Jeep Wrangler from a woman named ****** on 5/30/2025 for $10,800 + tax. I was assured by ****** that the vehicle had undergone a 125 point inspection. When I arrived to take it for a test drive, the first thing ****** did when we got in the vehicle was put her hand in front of the fan and commented that the a/c was working great. I found that to be an odd way to start the test drive but, didn't make anything of it. A week later the A/C stopped working entirely. I took it to my mechanic on 6/20/25 and he ran tests to determine what the issue was. It was determined that compressor needed to be ***laced. He noted that it was clear in his opinion that the dealership would have been aware of the issue when they did the 125 point inspection and it was his opinion that they likely recharged the A/C to operate for the test drive.I had the compressor ***laced which cost me $1,250 and I called ******, my sales *** to ask if they would reimburse me for the compressor. She informed me that it was not their responsibility and they would not be providing any reimbursement.I feel that I was misled and that the dealership was aware of, and covered up to the issue with the compressor. I'm seeking reimbursement of the $1,250 I paid to have the compressor ***laced.Business Response

Merchant completed service for a recall from Jeep involving replacing the clutch. After picking up the vehicle after this work was done, I noticed the clutch/transmission was making a strange noise intermittently whenever I downshifted (manual transmission). I brought the vehicle back twice to the merchant complaining about the noise and was told by both a technician and the service manager (2nd visit) that the noise was normal. I've been driving manual transmission cars for 40+ years and, no, its not normal.I took the vehicle to a third party garage who disassembled the clutch and found burn marks on the clutch, flywheel and clutch plate that they said would cause the noise I was experiencing. I had them replace the affected parts and the noise no longer occurs. I then contacted *** (****'s parent company) to see if they would reimburse me for the third party clutch replacement. They reimbursed me for the full $2894.00 amount of the rework based on my description of the problem and pictures I provided of the replaced parts with no questions asked.I feel that AutoNation Jeep intentionally misdiagnosed this problem and then charged me $249.95 for providing a false diagnosis. I luckily had heard the *** would reimburse this type of problem so the major cost has already been dealt with. I find it telling that *** reimburse me just on the problem description and pictures of the parts. The clutch noise I encountered is a well known problem and has a ************** dedicated to the issue: ***********************************************. Sadly, AutoNation is not the only Jeep dealer who is attempting to ignore the problem while others are stepping up and taking *********************** of the removed parts are included. The receipt from my third party garage and the stub from my reimbursement check are available.Business Response

I owned a 2018 *** X5M that I traded in at AutoNation Chrysler Jeep Arapahoe on 2/15/2024. The *** had ** state license plates that had the license number ******. Upon leaving the dealership after the trade the sales *** never gave me back my ** plate and I assumed they would dispose of them appropriately (they did not). 9 months went by and I got a bill in the mail from LicensePlateToll saying I owed $93.23 in toll transactions that dated from 5/26/24-7/23/24, the plate associated with these transactions was ** 58C435. I expressed to LicensePlateToll that I had traded my *** in 9 months ago and that the dealership kept the plates. LicensePlateToll employees informed me that the ** plate 58C435 is not registered to a *** in their system, instead they have images of the plate attached to a **** SUV (color unknown). They instructed me to file a police ***ort in case that tag is involved in criminal activity.I have prove that AutoNation did not give me the plates back due to a ******** marketplace post by one of their employees with pictures of my trade in *** with the ** plates STILL ON THE VEHICLE IN THE SOCIAL MEDIA POST.The dealership failed to inform me to take my ** tags with me when trading in my car and instead someone at the dealership has stolen/sold them and is using them.Business Response

On October 25, 2024, I spoke with an ******* and was told to bring my Jeep into the dealership on Sunday October 27, 2024, for a 7:00 A.M. appointment on Monday 28, 2024. My jeep had an orange engine light that appeared on my dashboard. Later that day I was called by the ******* and was told that they found a loose wire that was causing the problem. She said that I also needed an oil change and two filter replaced. Two hours later I called again and was told by another ******* said that my jeep was still being repaired. Two hours later arrived to pick up my Jeep and was told by the first ******* that they still needed to do the diagnostic test. Fifteen minutes later I was told I needed a new transmission.Business Response

Purchased a 2021 Jeep Wrangler from them in June 2024, less than ****** miles. Added an extended warranty that when pitched to us the salesman said literally covered "EVERYTHING except wheels, oil changes, and infotainment sytem". Left the country for over a month, the car remained in the garage. Early September an "engine failure" came up in the dashboard, at barely the ****** mile ***** Took the car to a parts shop for diagnostics which said an O2 sensor needed replacement, they offered to do it. Since the car was under warranty I took it to the dealership at Jeep Arapahoe. The car went into the service shop on September 9th. They came back saying that the issue was the injectors that likely needed replacing, but that the STAR department was requesting to try a cleaning first to see if that would fix it. Cleaning is not covered under warranty and is almost $2,000. We pushed hard against it given the feedback, because if it needed replacing after all, it's wasting time and money. The service people seemed to agree but said that they are obligated to follow the steps. After some back and forth, we were forced to approve the cleaning because otherwise they would not do anything. Cleaning didn't fix the issue, as anticipated. The injectors had to be replaced, alongside the O2 and NOx sensors. All this in different waves and with the dash light coming up in between. ****** with service managers and general manager that we should not be liable for the cleaning since as anticipated and proven, it didn't fix the issue so it was a waste of time and money that should have been avoided. They refused to waive. The repair was finalized four weeks later and we had to pay the injector cleaning charge and four weeks of car renting. All of this in a car we had just purchased barely three months prior and had driven less than a thousand miles. Worse service and business ethics experienced in our lifetime. We asked to return the car too, they refused. Buyers beware and stay away.Business Response

The management team followed the appropriate protocol according to the manufacturer. Protocol dictated that the injectors be flushed, which was completed. As a convenience to the customer, the management team discounted the cost to half price to assist the customer further.

On 6-11-2024 I brought over my Jeep Cherokee to Jeep Auto Nation Arapahoe for a reoccurring dash message. The service advisor ************************* informed me that my Jeep needed a Valve Body to repair my Jeep. The cost of the repair was $2924.30 which included a 2 year warranty. I paid the cost in full. Repairs were completed on 6-14-2024. On 6-24-2024 the same dash message reappeared. I brought the vehicle back to Jeep Auto Nation Arapahoe. On 6-27-2024 service advisor ************************* stated the vehicle needed a new transmission to fix the problem for $13,000.00. I requested to speak to his manager. On 6-28-2024 I spoke to the service manager *****************, to remove the valve body and refund my money since the valve body did not fix the problem. He stated that they will not. Seeking for the refund of $2924.30 since the error was the same and this was misdiagnosed by them. I would not spent this amount if the vehicle needed a new transmission. To resolve the issue, I had brought my vehicle to Auto Nation 2 times to have them fix my vehicle. They have defaulted in repairing my vehicle. My only option at that point was telling them to remove the part, and to refund my money. They rejected my request.Business Response

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. The valve body repair is the suggested repair for their vehicle regarding the issue that was presented at the time of diagnosis. The valve body could not be removed as it is programmed to the vehicle. During discussions of a resolution, the customer advised he would return to the purchasing dealership so they may assist with the issues with their recently purchased vehicle.
Thank you.

My Daughter took my Jeep into the dealership to have the A/C on May 29, 2024 A/C unit freon level was empty. Dealership wanted to add freon with dye to find leak. I told them that they needed to use something like N2 or compressed air to find the leak. I told them that they could not use freon to find the leak. Picked up Jeep May 31 and took back to dealership on Monday June 3. Dealership called me and texted me the cost to repair the Jeep A/C system. They said leak was from the evaporator.$4083.76 to repair the Jeep.I told my daughter to take the Jeep somewhere else. She took the Jeep to Pm Mile High Automotive. They found that the leak was from the condenser using compressed air to find leak, Evaporator was in good condition. Cost of repair $898.35. The dealership would have replaced the wrong part and still not fixed the Jeep A/C unit. EPA would not be happy with the dealership using Freon to find leaks.Business Response

Subject: Issue related to car repair work at Autonation Chrysler Jeep arapahoe (Issue is not yet fixed as of May 17th, 2024)Car make/model: 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Description:My Jeep was gently shaking when idle and 'check-engine' light was on. I took it to Autonation on May 3rd 2024. After initial diagnosis, my service advisor recommended me a few engine repairs with the cost of $2748.29 and I approved that amount. There were other recommendation as well but I just want to keep it short without going in that discussion. After multiple followups, they finally gave my jeep back on May 15th. To my surprise, the final bill was inflated to ~$5400 without any prior information to me. My advisor told me that there were some 'other' parts added to the repair cost. I never approved that additional cost. Anyways, long story short, I fought back and his manager agreed to bring down the final bill to $3300, which is still higher from my approved amount, even after calculating the tax amount. Anyways, my actual complaint is that when I took my car and started the engine, I was shocked to see that original issue was still there and my jeep was returned to me with the exact same issue. Now, after 15 days of waiting and paying $3310.94 for the repair, I still have the car with the original condition that feels like nothing was done on it at all. I am attaching a screenshot of the ODB2 scanner report that I used after I took my car back from the dealership. It shows that the exact same error still exists that was before the repair. Autonation is ready to take my car back to re-asses but I am concerned about how much time and money do I need waste before I get my car back in a health condition.Business Response

I purchased a vehicle on January 18th and on the 5th day of owning the vehicle the check engine light came on. I brought it back to the shop on the 29th and they have had minimal communication with me since. They have told me I need an engine replacement and I guess it has taken over 2 months to find one, order it, get it shipped and replaced. As this is what I hope they are doing. They told me the engine should be installed and ready on Friday (4/5 yesterday) and when I saw him last (4/1)he said he'd keep me updated. I have not heard anything from him since. I bought the extended warranty that they said would not cover the engine replacement even though it states that it will and that is why I purchased it. I went down to get something out of my car and it is just sitting on a lot with 800 other vehicles and now has a cracked windshield. When I bought the car I asked them where to put my mailing address at least THREE times and they said I didn't need it. I almost missed my first payment because the company said anything they sent me got sent back. They have given me a loaner car but, I have told them I just want them to buy the car back. They have given me a low ball offer and I may have put 500 miles on it. I put 5000 down and have made two other payments.Business Response

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. After discovering that the vehicle required an engine replacement, the service department worked as quickly as possible to complete the repairs. However, a part that was needed was unfortunately on backorder from the manufacturer which is out of our control. The repairs are scheduled to be completed by April 20th.
