On March 6, 2025 I ordered hearing aids from Alpine ENT in the **************** Hearing aids are covered by by my insurance plan. At that time, we had hit our out of pocket maximum with our insurance company. I advised the provider we had hit our out of pocket maximum, but was advised I still needed to pay a 10% copay. I agreed to pay it with the assurance I would get a refund when the explanation of benefits was received. The explanation of benefits was processed on March 13, 2025 indicating the claim was paid at 100% and out of pocket expense was $0.I called the business on March 25, April 1, April 25, and May 19th requesting a refund. Each time the representative indicated I was due a refund and they would send the request to their refund department with a rush request. They said refunds usually take 4-6 weeks. I have yet to receive the refund. On May 19 I submitted a dispute on the charge with my credit card company. I received correspondence from the credit card company on May 30 that the provider has until July 22 to respond to the dispute.I am requesting the provider acknowledge the dispute with the credit card company and agree the refund is due and process it immediately.

      Hi *****,

We actually do have this patient in our system.  His name is spelled incorrectly on your information.

We refunded the patient in May of 2025.  He never cashed the check. We are reissuing the check to him.

Alpine Ea, Notes & Throat has three locations.  The ******************* location responded to this saying I wasn't a patient.  I was a patient at the ******** location.  It's unfortunate the business didn't take the time to check their other branches, and instead claimed I wasn't a patient there.

In the end, I disputed the charge on my Credit Card and that dispute was resolved in my favor.  It's deeply concerning a business requires its customers to go through this channel to address overpayment instead of issuing the credit directly and in a timely manner.

Thanks for the update, I did not see that previous correspondence.  They now claim to have issued two checks, I've not received either of them.  In any case, as I said the Credit Card dispute is now resolved and I've been credited.  Thank goodness I used my credit card.

      Thanks for your assistance.

on February 4th I paid for new hearing aids with my credit card and was told to send a form to my insurance company to get reimbursed. paperwork said that I had paid and that Alpine would not file a claim for the hearing aids.I sent in the form then called the insurance company last week when I got a notification that my claim had been processed and approved. the insurance company stated that Alpine ENT has been sent a check Feb 29th. I called Alpine and was told it would take 4 to 6 WEEKS for them to process and send me the money I was due. they also said I had a CREDIT of over $4900, which was more than what I paid for the hearing aids. I went to Alpine yesterday (3/11) fo an appointment and explained the situation. I was told they would try to expedite my reimbursement I just got a call saying that they had called the insurance company and that I should send in a claim form to them so they could reimburse me. but Alpine already has money for more than my out of pocket.

We have spoken with the patient and there is a complicated issue with his insurance.
We continue to follow up on this.

I have had 2 phone calls with my insurance company (*****) and the audiologist group (Alpine ENT) about this complaint since I first filed with the BBB and I am spinning my wheels and it seems like the BBB is not moving things along at all, which is too bad

11/20/23 received 2nd pair instead of refund.
      2nd pair didn't work and returned 12/20/23
I called many times, and the receptionist says someone will get back to me. No one ever has.
2nd pair didn't work for me either. They have said through 1 contact when I call, I would see a refund in 10 days. It has been more than a month and no refund.
I have been waiting since 12/20/23.
I got their best hearing aids, insurance paid probably $4000.
