I purchased a pair of Limmer Standard boots in August 2023. There are specific instructions regarding how to break in a pair of these boots. I followed that. I thought these were going to be my go to boots for hiking. At first these boots seemed problem free. It is well known that they take a couple months to break in properly. I expected that. As they broke in and my foot settled into the foot bed I noticed a difference in the construction of the right and left boot. In the area of the proximal end of my 5th metatarsal on the left foot there was a pressure point not present on the right boot. This area became very sore. I experienced this issue when another boot company changed their manufacturing process. I have 4 other pairs of boots that cause no problems. I sent the boots back for examination. They changed out the heel leather and sent them back. The pressure point was still there and hurt my foot when walking. I explained this and was told they saw nothing. I wrote asking for a measurement in the area of the problem after noticing a discrepancy between my left and right boot. I listed three options to solve the issue. I spoke with ***** and asked for a measurement. NO response. I wrote again. ***** emailed and said they were very busy and the problem was mine since I wore them outside. I told him the problem did not occur until I was actually hiking. At one point he suggested it was my foot. I saw a podiatrist who took X-rays and did an exam and found both left and right foot similar. The podiatrist said I should not be having issue because of my feet. I explained this to *****. I still have no resolution. My warning is this. This company is most helpful when your are buying but if a problem out of the ordinary occurs due to a defect in the boot they will not stand behind it.

This is written to update the below review I wrote 4 days ago. At this point in time I have received a response in regard how to solve the issue I have and all are reasonable. The width that was in question is the normal width for this boots. I was offered the opportunity to return them for my money back but that is not what I want for my solution. On the day I wrote the following review, I received an email from the company offering two solutions. When I read the email I did not see they had made offers. On Jan 23, I did in fact receive a phone call from Limmer Boots and we were able to discuss the different modalities to identify and explore options to this problem. The most significant thing I learned is that Limmer has an option of making the Standard in a "comfort" last which is wider and made for using an insole. This is an option that I am considering as a solution. I am assured now that the owners of the company are willing to help with problems and would recommend them to others. Please disregard what is written in the first review because the company did in fact correct those issues.
