      I took my car in for an oil change on 5/23/2024. I looked at the oil the next day and it was low, the dipstick was not reading anything and I added a quart. I drove with it that way until June 10 when the car would not start. I had the car towed to specialists and they said they did not find a reason why the car may be leaking oil or the oil can be consumed that fast if the car was burning oil. Jiffi Lube did not replace the oil after the service they did. I would like them to pay for the damage to the vehicle and replacements of the parts. The mechanic said the timing belt got loose as a result of low oil and this can be attributed to negligence on their part. Jiffy Lube # 17 Enitor Enterprises, LLC 2549 S. COLLEGE AVE.       To whom it may concern:

      My name is Mark Howell and I operate the Jiffy Lube on Drake and College. When I received this complaint, the first thing I did was pull up our invoice. I have included the entire invoice as one of my attachments, as the customer cut his off to not include several key comments and notes. The first note was that the oil reading when the vehicle arrived was "off stick". This means that we were not able to see any oil at all on the dipstick before we serviced the vehicle, indicating that it was at least 2 quarts low, if not more. Additionally, in the notes section of our invoice, we stated that the service was not warrantied due to the Kia recall/TSB (technical service bulletin). Unfortunately, every Kia engine produced from 2011-2021 has major oil consumption problems, so much so that they have recalled over 1,000,000 vehicles. Kia has added language to their owners manual through a TSB that because these engines consume so much oil, it is necessary to check and fill your oil every single time you get fuel, otherwise they won't cover their warranty. As an organization that services over 100,000 cars per year, this is something that we are all too familiar with and have had to take drastic measures (not warrantying our service on ANY Kia model from 2011-2021) to ensure we are protected. 

      In addition to the vehicle being empty of oil when it arrived at our location before the oil change, we have video surveillance that shows us adding oil and doing an inspection at the end of the oil change which includes additional employees checking the oil to ensure it was full before it left. The file was too large to include, even after compressing it. 

      Due to the evidence, we are denying responsibility for any engine issues resulting from lack of lubrication, as this is all too common with these Kia engines. I have included a screenshot of the Kia TSB (I couldn't include the entire document because it was too large for your system after compressing it) to show what Kia requires for keeping your engine warranty. I am very sorry this is happening for this customer, there are class action lawsuits against Kia/Hyundai (same motors) due to so many having problems. If I can help them in any way, I will.

      Date: 2/1/23 Invoice #***** Jiffy Lube #1161 I was offered a free windshield repair during my oil change but did not know and was not advised that a claim would be filed to my insurance company. As a result of this I left a ****** Review. Operations Manger Eric B******* [******************** ***** ******** reached out to me after leaving a ****** review. He promised he would get back in the next few business days after getting the issue with my insurance company resolved. I did not hear from him for over a week and I had to reach back out to him. By the time I got ahold of him, I had contacted my insurance company 3 times taking over an hour of my time and causing me great stress as a claim had been filed without my consent. When I finally did get him on the phone he claimed he had resolved the issue with my insurance company days prior, which is clearly not true because I had resolved the issue myself earlier that day after reaching out to my insurance company 3 times. I am reaching out to see what is possible to help address this situation as I am left very frustrated and feel deceived by Jiffy Lube and their regional management.
