  i have used turbotenant to list and manage several apartments and have found it amazing. a few small bugs here and there but overall very smooth. they charge an application fee for pulling a credit report and collect other histories but if you have not seen a property or emailed the landlord i would hold off applying! if a landlord gets multiple applications they may not respond to all of them in a timely manner and are unable to refund the fees anyway as they don’t get any of them. so only apply to properties that you have been invited to apply to. i agree that is somewhat confusing and perhaps some language around that on the apply page would help.

  Applied for an apartment that turned out to be a scam, which was not the problem. The problem was that TurboTenant charged $55 dollars for the application fee. At the time I didnt know that it was ILLEGAL in NY state. They should really updated their pricing policies and match them to the state the apartment is listed.
  So basically TurboTenant somehow either has a legal loop hole. Or decided not to abide by state laws.

  I PUT IN AN APPLICATION TO SEE AN APARTMENT AND HAD TO GO THROUGH TURBO TENENT TO DO THAT. I AM ASTOUNDED THAT THIS BUSINESS SCAMS PEOPLE AND ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. I PAID MONEY TO SEE, JUST TO SEE AN APARTMENT, NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL, NOTHING. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE ITS A SCAM!

  I understand that TurboTenant is the software that landlords are using for renting, but it’s really disturbing to see how many more scams are on there these days. It’s not just limited to TurboTenant which is the problem in my opinion - their listings end up on other platforms like ************** ******, etc. They should implement better protections for applicants, because it’s sick how many of these scammers are collecting application fees for fake properties.
  I urge applicants to always ****** listings you are interested in to see if there is any rental history available. Also keep the prices in mind - as always, if it seems too good to be true it likely is. Report report report!
  I despise this site, and now avoid any listing from there. In some parallel universe where I own property and am a landlord, I would also never use this site. Get with it guys

  WARNING This is a scammer taking rental application for a fee for properties that are already rented or sold and never returning calls to prospective tenants who are left holding the bag. I am 82 and just sold my condo and looking for a place to go to. A nice little house in ********** ** near *** in a good location came up on all the real estate sites this morning and was too good to be true-$1100/mo, takes pets, all utilities included, all new and remodeled with new appliances, including a new washer and dryer, yard and parking for 3 cars in back. I could not get hold of this company to fill out an application so didn't get scammed, but, there are many, many others who lost their application fee and now have compromised ID/personal info problems.   I paid TurboTenant for background checks for my partner and I, only to be informed that the owner is not using TurboTenant. After requesting a refund from TurboTenant, they declined. The property owner hadn't fully set up TurboTenant so didn't know it was pulling prospective tenants into their application process. As a landlord myself, I will never consider using TurboTenant, there are other companies offering WAY better service and value, and that are customer-focused.

  My Tenant recommended TurboTenant for his rental payment transition. In the first two months, the transition of rental payments through TurboTenant to my bank were smooth. I thought using TurboTenant might be a good way for modern rental business, I connected my other two tenants to use it for my rental payment transitions, which is a big mistake.
  Unfortunately, after my three tenants have paid their rental payments through TurboTenant on October 2022, TurboTenant did not release my rental payment money to my banks as they did before. TurboTeant's representative Deja started to ask my banking documents to verify my bank accounts, which I had download the documents to them. Then, Deja told me they could not receive the download files, asked me to email her. I did again. Day by Day until last week, she asked about who own the business, and such..., asked to verify our business documents and ID. My husband and I have to send all of the require documents to Deja last night after work, TurboTenant representatives did not respond my any emails today on 10/21/2022.
  I have paid the premium money for their service, hopefully to use their phone for help, but the phone is only an answer machine. They never call me back.
  They have kept my three tenant payments for 21 days now.

  I am so disgusted right now, my son and I am needing a roof over our heads I applied for a house for rent supposedly a day made a $55 payment and never gave this company or scammers my ss# because I decided to check them out before going any further and they took my $55 even though I did not complete the process and when I go to try and find the page where I made the payment it disappeared because I wanted to cancel it, again submitting my DL, and paystubs and paid the $55 but did not supply the ss# I Repeat because after reading the reviews and how many people this company has scammed... I want my money back its been less than an hour since I made the payment. I want my money back!!! Put it back on my card the same way you took it!! And not how you are sending all these other poor people the same bogus messages about having to go through some link!! Put it back in my card!!!

  Thank you for taking the time to submit this complaint regarding your recent application for a listing on TurboTenant. and bring this to our attention. Please keep in mind that TurboTenant is just the software that a landlord is utilizing to market and manage their rental properties. We do not manage or own the properties listed on our website.
  With that being said, I think there may be some confusion about our application process that I'd be happy to clear up. You submitted a rental application. While we do offer the option to pre-approve a screening report when submitting your application, that information is not required and you are able to skip adding that information if you wish.
  On the first page of the application form, you are required to create a TurboTenant account which requires a valid email address and password. Once an application is submitted, you can log in to your newly created TurboTenant account to review the submitted application, correspond with the landlord, etc. For security purposes, you are not automatically logged in once the application is submitted.

  All I want is my $55 back that you stole i never even complete the process and the screen froze while trying to make sure it was canceled I want my money I never received anything from turbo tenant about the application since the night o went to apply and canceled within a minute of applying!!! The only time turbotenant has contacted me and not even directly is through BBB, I wonder why!! Give me my money back I canceled the request within a minute of doing it so how you can give me the line of garbage you sent and didn't even address the main issue that the request was canceled 1 minute after applying and I have not received anything from your company until I sent this complaint just minutes after I applied and canceled through your website... all I want is my money back o received no services nor do I want any, just want my $55 refunded!!!
