AMR is billing me for an ambulance trip on April 6, 2022 that my insurance has already paid in full. I have the explanation of benefits from my insurance company and I verbally confirmed with my insurance company that this has been paid in full. I have only used AMR in one instance, this emergency trip on 04/06. There had been a billing discrepancy on my account, and AMR tried to settle the account $3333 trip/ride (for 50 feet from emergency helipad to hospital door - so $3333 is ridiculous) with me for $350, before my insurance had fully processed my claim. Now that my insurance has fully processed my claim, and covered this trip, the insurance company says I owe AMR no money at all. AMR, please stop billing me for any amount that I owe you. You have already been paid by unitedHealthcare.

      Dear Better Business Bureau:

Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumers concerns.  American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers and strives to provide quality service.  Many processes are in place to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Our office has thoroughly reviewed the consumers concerns.  The consumers insurance was previously billed and denied the claim as a non-covered service.  AMR previously contacted the consumer by phone and discussed the account.  As a courtesy, our ***************** agreed to accept the amount of $350.00 as final payment which the consumer agreed to pay.  The consumers insurance recently made a payment for $519.90.  Operations has agreed to waive the balance owed by the consumer.  The trip is now considered closed and the consumer is no longer responsible for this service.

Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at **************.

      Sincerely,

On 8 July 2022, my wife received a **** from AMR for $537.56 for transporting her with me from our Fairfield Place home to the ****************** of the ******** Peninsula on 19 April 2022. On that day, two weeks after I had a hip transplant, I woke up with a very swollen leg that led me to call the hospital. My wife cold not drive, and so I asked the ambulance people attending me if she could accompany me to the hospital, which she did in the passenger seat next to the driver while I was attended to in the rear of the vehicle in a wheel chair. I've attached the page from the **** which itemizes the $537..56. I've also attached my ******** statement containing the very same $537..56 at the bottom of the third column showing the costs for AMR services which I received but my wife did not receive, except for the mileage to the hospital. If anything, I believe AMR should charge my wife only for that mileage...

      Dear Better Business Bureau:

Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumers concerns.  American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers and strives to provide quality service.

AMR contacted the consumer by phone and confirmed his concerns.  Our operations department thoroughly reviewed the services and confirmed our crews are trained to follow all local Emergency Medical Services procedures and protocols.  Our ambulances are equipped to provide services for more than one patient on the same trip; therefore, each patient is billed individually.  As a courtesy, Operations approved to write off the **** for the consumers wife.  We would like to thank the consumer for bringing this matter to our attention.

Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at **************.

      Sincerely,
