On Saturday, 9/3/2022, while checking my bank account, I saw two pending transactions from ********** one for $200.00 and one for $98.23, neither of which I authorized. I have been using Gaia.com as an online yoga platform for many years. My membership was an automatic withdrawal of $11.99 a month (on the 5th of the month from 4/5/21 to 8/5/22). This online yoga subscription service was also used from 7/9/13 to 11/8/19. I never had issues with them before. I did not order anything or change my membership. In fact, I used it the previous week. I immediately called my bank. US Bank initially sent me to the fraud department, but then said it wasn't fraud as I had given them my debit card number for the membership, even though I never gave them authorization to charge those two amounts. In the end, a representative from the bank said she was able to reverse the charges and then she said she put in a stop payment for those two amounts, so **** couldn't try again. Unfortunately, these transactions posted as a debit to my account on 9/6/22. I have gone into my bank and have filed a report with them in regards to this issue. As I was on the phone with US Bank, I was trying to reach Gaia both online and by phone. The customer support phone number states that they don't provide support over the phone and only online. I sent two separate online requests for help on 9/3, including my phone number and email asking for a response to my inquiry about these unauthorized payments. When we saw they cleared our account, my husband found a chat function on the website and chatted with a ***** from Gaia on 9/7 at 2:45pm. She stated that she would forward to the team to check it out and they would reply via email. We have not received a response. I have a copy of this chat. I also sent another request online for help on 9/7. I cannot login through my app on my tv or either of my two email addresses I have used with them, it says account not found. **** has essentially stolen $298.23.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/26/2022

To Whom it May ******************** complaint, #********, has been resolved. After I filed the complaint, the business reached out and asked if we wanted a refund, which we agreed was the result we wanted. **** refunded our bank account for the two unauthorized amounts they took out.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. The company had not reached out to any of our requests until we filed this complaint.
