This roofing company replaced the roof on my neighbors home and damaged my house while removing the roof. My neighbors address is ******************************** ******, ** *****. This happened on approximately 5/10/2024, but I am not sure of the exact date, but can get it if needed. The business manager **** acknowledged his company damaged my house and I gave him the code to get the exact paint that my house was painted with. **** also did take a picture of the damage as I did. I have not heard back from the company after reaching out to them twice. I did state I did not want to deal with **** as he was rude, did not apologize for damaging my house and even had the nerve to ask me if I had the paint to repair my house. **** said they would paint over the damage and I said fine but if it does not match the rest of the paint on that side of the house they would have to paint the whole side to make the repair correctly. **** said the owners would laugh at me if I requested that. I will pursue this issue by taking them to small claims court if necassary. The companies business license is ****** but I do not know if they are bonded or insured. They did get a permit from the city of ******.

      Business Response

      Hello,

We performed further investigation into your complaint and we spoke in detail with our business manager. The "damage" you are referring to is a vertically diagonal scuff **** on your siding (see photo). Our business manager informed us of your interaction and expressed to us he firmly believes our crew did not caused the **** on your siding due to the location/orientation of the **** and the distance from your house to the house where we performed the work (approximately 15+ feet apart - see photo). However, as a simple courtesy, **** offered to "touch up" the **** for you if you happened to have paint on hand and he informed us that your response was for us to "buy our own paint" (even though you had extra paint) and to paint the entire wall, then demanded our insurance information (note, the siding is not actually damaged, the paint is simply scuffed).

If you observe the photos, the home we were working on is relatively far apart and to the right of your home. The scuff **** ********* indicates something may have fell vertically and in the opposite ********* of where we were working. Someone on our crew would have had to heave heavy roofing debris roughly 20+ feet to even hit your home.

So in conclusion of our investigation, we believe it is highly unlikely our work caused the **** on your siding. The highest probability would indicate the scuff **** was most likely caused from a roofing installation on your own home (as the *********al evidence of the **** suggests) and we believe **** performed a reasonable effort to assist you, out of kindness, even though he sincerely believed we were not the source of the issue. In most cases, those ****s can be removed with a solvent cleaner and in some cases simply hot soap and water.

I am rejecting this response because: **** admitted your company did the damage and they were in my yard cleaning up the debris they threw in my yard. The paint was removed from my siding and the neighbor will also testify that your company did the damage. I will get estimates from a painter to repair the damage. The scuff marks are obviously from old singles being thrown against my house **** commented on how windy it was the day your company roofed my neighbors house and was using that as an excuse why the damage happened.

I should not be obligated to use my paint or brushes or rollers to repair damages your company caused and **** admitted to it. Obviously from the pictures I have when roofing material was removed from my neighbors roof it was not only thrown in my yard it hit my house and removed the paint from the house as well as left scuff marks. Patching the siding with the original paint will show up like a sore thumb.

I just want my house repaired to the way it was before your company damaged it.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

Obviously this can not be cleaned off without painting it. And when your roofers throw singles off the top of the roof they can easily fly and hit my house at the angle of the scratch.
