Vail Cosmetics, in collusion with Vail Skin Philosophy, exercises predatory and deceptive business tactics to intimidate visitors into spending an exorbitant amount of money for products available elsewhere for a much lower reasonable price. Vail Cosmetics employees stand on *************, luring people into the store with free samples. Once inside, they apply products offered at unreasonably high prices. When I refused, they offered progressive discounts as low as 10% of the original price. Still resisting, they persuaded me to make a purchase with a "free" gift. After paying over $380, they personally walked me to another location to get the gift. I could not politely escape. At Vail Skin Philosophy, the pressure campaign went into high gear. The technician (manager) sat me down, covered me with an apron and quickly tied back my hair before applying a facial mask that kept me immobile while she promoted products priced over $35,000! Although I refused and said I had to leave because my sister was waiting in the car, she would not let me go. She continued her scam for an hour (even though I asked repeatedly to leave), claiming miraculous results, offering warranties and guarantees, and lowering the price until I had no choice but to make a purchase to escape. These shops prey on Vail visitors who come from all over the world because exchanges or returns are impossible from a distance. When I returned home, I asked my spa about the products. They had never heard of the extremely overpriced products and said I had been subject to predatory practices.I called Vail Skin Philosophy about returning unused products and was told they were nonrefundable even though I had been repeatedly guaranteed total satisfaction. When asking to speak with the owner, the manager said she had no authority to divulge his name or contact information. I asked him to contact me, but he has not. It is a total scam and I would like to warn other innocent visitors to **** and get a refund.
