10-3-24 Paid ******* for 17 bundles/306 ***** hay.Picked up 4 bindles/72 ***** 10/7/24 & 7 bundles/126 ***** 10/16/24 Animals barely eating hay. Asked owner if refund could be given for remaining 6 bundles/108 *****. He said yes - 5% = *******. Refund never showed on credit card used to pay. Owner says it was done but would not provide any proof. Credit card company shows no activity. Did not ask for return of hay picked up despite poor quality. Not orchard grass or very little. July 24, 2024 - Purchased 4 bundles of Hay for $1063.08 August 16, 2024 - Hay Bundles Delivered After opening the bundles, determined hay was not as advertised Within days, began to request exchange as offered in their terms of agreement Sept. 23, 2024 - After multiple attempts through all channels (phone, text, email, ********) Finally received email confirmation of the company's willingness to exchange intact bundles for an additional delivery fee.Sept. 23, 2024 - Immediately replied by email to confirm agreement and set date for delivery Oct. 8, 2024 - As of today, NO CONTACT from the company - no reply to my email, no request for additional payment, no date set for delivery and exchange - NOTHING I have had to purchase additional hay from other sources while I wait nearly 2 months, at this point, for contracted obligations to be met by 4r Ranch Restitution Requested - I am owed, by contract, 2 bundles of the exchange hay of my choice delivered. I have had to purchase additional hay from outside sources as I wait for this matter to be resolved. I am seeking 2 bundles of as advertised hay of my choosing OR a REFUND of 50% of my original purchase price of 4 bundles = $531.54 so that I may use these funds to purchase replacement hay from another source. My horses continue to need hay and every day the matter remains unresolved is another day my horses are at increasing risk for potential health problems related to the sub-standard hay delivered...Initial Complaint

On July 23, 2024 4R Ranch delivered 15 bundles of hay (270 ***** of hay) . They hay was supposed to be ******* ***, straight grass hay. The hay we received was mixed with alfalfa. I cannot feed alfalfa to my horses, they are allergic to it. We spent $3719.25 on the hay plus a $937.93 delivery fee. I contacted them, and finally they said they would come and get it, and replace the hay(only 14 of the bundles, because we had opened one of the bundles) That was supposed to take place last Friday. Delivery was supposed to be between 12-2. I called in at 2:46 wondering if the delivery was going to happen. I was told the driver did not have cell service. Then 3:56 he had a flat and was waiting for tire repair service. The delivery never happened. On Saturday I was told they would reschedule. I still have not heard anything about a new delivery date. This was their mistake delivering the wrong kind of hay.Initial Complaint

I contacted 4r looking for specific hay called teff. Was told 4r had teff and was sent the hay analysis showing the needed low starch wsc levels needed for my horse due to the hoses needs. The time it took to get the hay to the delivery barn was weeks. I was told there were 8 bales of teff I could pick up in the mean time
I did pick up 8 bales of compressed teff for 125.00 which lasted until 4r could have the remaining 5000 pounds of teff was available for a scheduled pick up arainged thru Sara. I picked up 6 bundles of agreed upon teff. The hay appeared different then the teff I picked up weeks earlier. Sara and the loader both told me this was their teff. I asked if it could possibly be mixed with orchard or brome hay as it looked unlike teff. I was again told I was being sold and had approx 5000 to 6000 pounds of their tested advertising teff with a wsc of 8.5 and starch 1.3.
I took the teff and had it tested and discovered I was not given teff or even hay with sugars even close to advertised instead had starch of 5.4 and wsc of 17.9 significantly out of range for what 4r sold as the hay agreed upon. I cannotbuse this hay as it is way out of range for the laminitis horse and sugars that will make him sick.
I called Sara today and was treated with brush off of I cannot help you and you and no refund or return per their policy. I explained I was sold and given a false product and needed to have some assistance with correcting the false advertising of teff hay with low starch and wsc tested they were to have sold.
She said she would pass a message to the product manager Randel but he was out of state for 1.5 weeks and would not possibly get back for some time and ended to call.Initial Complaint

On February 1, 2024, I received nine 3x3 square bales of what 4R Ranch advertised as Timothy horse hay. The cost of the hay including delivery was $1440.
On February 5, 2024, I opened the first of the nine bales of hay. The hay had sandburs throughout the bale. I looked at the other bales and they also had sandburs in some areas of the bales I could access without opening the bale. From research, sandburs can cause physical trauma to a horse’s mouth, gut, and skin. In addition, sandburs from the hay can spread the plants to my pastures. Either of these scenarios can be extremely expensive to remedy. Based on this information, I immediately contacted 4R Ranch to return the hay and to be reimbursed for the bales that had not been opened. I was told their warranty does not include weeds. Hay will often have a small amount of weeds but not weeds that can cause trauma or death to a horse or costly damage to real property. I have been buying horse hay for over 30 years and this is the first time I have ever been sold hay, that was advertised as horse hay, that had sandburs or any other type of plant that could potentially cause such a financial loss.
I believe this company should not advertise or represented the hay I received as horse hay. In addition, I believe they should disclose that their Timothy horse hay may have some sandburs.Initial Complaint

We purchased hay for the first time from this company back in July 2023. By August we noticed our horse not eating much of it and picking through it. I called the company and told them that our horses were adverse to their hay and they said they wouldn't do anything because it had been to long. Fast forward to Oct. we now noticed blood on horses lip and flipping his lip up to find massive ulcers on gums and cheeks, we then checked our other horse and the same thing. Vets came out sedated and found tons of foxtail thistles imbedded in gums. We were then sent to Littleton Equine Hospital where they stayed for 4 nights and 5 days to be taken care of, sedated and treated for infection. I called 4R Ranch today and they refused to pick up the remaining hay, they refused to give our money back, they even went so far as to say their hay has zero foxtail in it and they inspect there hay. They even said it may not even be their hay. We have everything on camera showing them delivering the hay and no one else delivering hay afterwards. This company provides feed for animals that is dangerous. Our vet bill so far is $2500 and our horse are in a lot of pain and have a long way to go to being healthy again. I want something done about this.
